Part 5 of (mostly ๐Ÿ˜‚) drama-free and positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether itโ€™s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghanโ€™s fashion choices (Harryโ€™s too, on occasion ๐Ÿ˜‰), thereโ€™s plenty to discuss. Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. Hat tip to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Someone pointing out your hypocrisy.

Well, thanks for that scintillating display of insight!

But then, I suspect you are well placed to hold up the mirror to divisiveness...

To try to erase such skill by taking a photo in front of one is just low! Even for a monarchy desperate for relevance.

You missed the bit where William, who still retains his pilots licence, flew it away. Something Harry, former Apache gunner, canโ€™t do.

They simply can't take it! Equating simply flying with complicated dexterous manoeuvres! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Are Harry and Meghan back home with their children yet?

... another gratuitously spiteful comment....

It seems really disrespectful to the everyday Nigerian.

Delighted to see that the long list of areas of expertise touted by posters on this board now includes deep insight into "the everyday Nigerian"!

Yay-hay.

That's a bit like "the everyday American", "the everyday Indian", and "the everyday Brit", isn't it?

What utter nonsense.

It's clear that this trip has been HUGELY appreciated by a huge chunk of the Nigerian population, who have shown the world that they can
a) organise a flawless presidential style tour for high-profile personalities,
b) use this opportunity to showcase different elements of their culture and tradition, and
c) at the same time drive progress in their society by promoting veteran and mental health issues.

I suspect folks who do know a bit about Nigerians have some idea where they would tell foreigners to shove their "advice" telling Nigerians what to feel disrespected about...

I respect what these everyday Nigerian women had to say prior about the overall picture presented by Meghan and Harry. This was long ago, but I think a follow up is in order.

Skullbabe is right, they donโ€™t come to play.

Itโ€™s pretty bad when a comment like that is seen as spiteful!

Motherโ€™s day here was two days ago. Iโ€™m sure they at least had Doria.

You are being quite ridiculous in your attempts to hold your crumbling ground here. ๐Ÿคฃ William can also land a helicopter on water, you know, which is not a common skill. And he was a fully qualified, fully operational Search and Rescue pilot flying the Sea King helicopter for several years before moving to be an Air Ambulance

Harry, who to our knowledge hasnโ€™t flown for nearly a decade accepts โ€œLiving Legends of Aviationโ€ awards to bolster his poor public image. His brother just kept on flying, saving peopleโ€™s lives.

I'm sorry to hear that @TallerSally , perhaps take a step back and have a moment to yourself Flowers

TallerSally · 14/05/2024 13:40

It's indeed fairly clear that some people have become reeeeeelllyy rather upset that Harry and Meghan's Invictus visit to Nigeria, in response to an invitation from the Nigerian MoD, has been such a huge, unmitigated success.

Hence the desperation to restart the squabbling and bickering about issues hashed and rehashed and re-rehashed elsewhere for years, and whatever mud the desperate British media can pick up on to pivot from the success of the Naija trip - just look at how gleefully some have pounced on the COMPLETE NON-STORY that is a late Archewell cheque in the mail.

That said, I have no doubt that we will see this thread remaining about celebrating the success that Invictus/H&M/Nigeria trip!

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 13:41

I think posting photos, taken a decade apart of two brothers to show one looking older and one looking young and healthy is just bizarre. What point does it prove? Both were young and handsome at some point, both are middle aged looking now. What is it meant to prove and who cares?

Did people here compare these brothers like this before Harry and Meghan got together?

I have no interest in pitting them against one another.

MummyJ12 · 14/05/2024 13:46

So the trick is to ignore the crowd of people on the other side of the fence waiting to greet you. Itโ€™s better optics.

Someone posted a really old photo of Harry and compared him physically to William. Is that what you mean by rehashing events already settled?

Despite repeatedly changing the topic yourself. ๐Ÿคฃ

TallerSally · 14/05/2024 13:51

This one, for example, has me slightly puzzled. I'm not sure there is that much hidden meaning to be uncovered in outfits.

Typically for tropical countries you have to balance the heat and humidity with fending off mozzies and if you're somewhat like Meghan, decorum, branding, and anticipating the reactions of a hostile media and millions of people watching your every move....

Rather a lot of variables to solve for!...
