Part 5 of (mostly ๐Ÿ˜‚) drama-free and positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether itโ€™s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghanโ€™s fashion choices (Harryโ€™s too, on occasion ๐Ÿ˜‰), thereโ€™s plenty to discuss. Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. Hat tip to @queentim for the original inspiration.

I'm beginning to think this was the goal !!
An attempt to get posters to "retaliate " by posting nasty things about them , then we can be labelled "haters" again!

I for one will not be discussing his nasty comments about anyone.

Thank you for this positive thread about Harry and Megan. ๐Ÿ’

This. Mind you, I'm still scrolling so there might be some ahead. But so far, so good.

@myrtleWilson

I really donโ€™t understand your question to me.

If he is credible on everything, let us all talk about the awful things about Doria for example. Or Meghan.

Come. On. Folks. Keep up!

Obviously I saying the OPPOSITE of Tom Bower being credible on everything....

I am not going to be baited into having to search for pictures of royals touching people of colour - a request that in itself pretty much dehumanises us as tokens to make the white people involved look better - although I can think of a number of examples off the top of my head, eg Catherine with Professor Jacqueline Dunley-Bent who was her midwife, with the expedition leader Preet Chandi and a particularly tender moment between Catherine and a little boy to whom she gave her poppy. But actually, what is more important than treating us as a photo opportunity is actually having a meaningful interaction or relationship with people whatever their colour. I see nothing of such substance in most of Meghan and Harryโ€™s interactions, no matter how you want to spin it.

Iโ€™m a person of colour. Why do you have wilful blindness towards Prince Harryโ€™s proven record of racism?

I donโ€™t think anyone on here has โ€˜wilful blindnessโ€™ to Harryโ€™s record of racism. Unlike everyone else in his family, including his proven racist grandfather, he has been willing to address it though.

I donโ€™t like his rowing back from โ€˜racismโ€™ to โ€˜unconscious biasโ€™ because unconscious, or conscious, racism is racism.

I believe someone in that family spoke with concern about Archieโ€™s skin color. But, like the rest of us, I donโ€™t know who. The person who did it knows though, and theyโ€™ve sat quiet about it. Thatโ€™s on them.

Letโ€™s face it. This is the British monarchy. To think Harry is the only one who has been racist is โ€˜willful blindnessโ€™ imo.

myrtleWilson · 14/05/2024 11:59

@Wickedlywearynamechanged apologies, I was wondering more broadly (not meaning to direct a question to you) whether the tour had led to Archewell breaking delinquency rules. Under the notice the charity is not able to solicit or disburse funds. Am not sure where activities promoting the charity/launching new partnerships could be seen as part of soliciting funds

DiTePerdantTeMaledico · 14/05/2024 12:07

Exactly that.

I donโ€™t want to be treated differently. Iโ€™m not a photo opportunity or someone elseโ€™s prop, โ€˜I know a wocโ€™ acquaintance or anything else.

And no, Iโ€™m not going to be drawn to argue the toss with snide folk seeking an argument.

I see them and that carry on for what it is.

AnnieSF · 14/05/2024 12:10

@Wickedlywearynamechanged do you don't approve of what Harry says now? You think it's different? He was in the situation but YOU don't believe it. Why don't you write to him and tell him how unhappy you are and see what he says?

You don't know that anyone spoke of "concern" about Archie's skin colour, because the person that had the conversation (single - there were no conversations) has never contextualised it. For a start, a conversation about skin colour does not necessarily equal racism, and I don't know how many people of colour have explained that this is the case on these boards. Second, the "concern" may have been any number of things, but not necessarily that he would be too black, or whatever the implication was. And no, I don't share your paranoia either.

There's a prize for the best caption for this photo. โ˜บ๏ธ

Why is this woman next to me showing so much leg? Doesn't she know the word 'modest'?

Are you actually telling a person of color they donโ€™t have the right background to call themselves a person of color?

Iโ€™ve seen this quiet racism on this board for years now. But never has anyone been so blatant as this.

I canโ€™t decide if Megan doesnโ€™t really care about dressing appropriately, just she wants to wear what she likes, when she likes. Or she does care and just gets it continually wrong.

it has to be the former, sheโ€™s a woman in her 40s, and whilst clearly not the sharpest tool in the box, an affliction she shares with her husband, and very obviously out of her depth, she is surely smart enough to know how female leaders dress, and itโ€™s not like their about to do the tango.

You're throwing shade, I know. I think for someone who, as per your comment "not the sharpest tool ..." she's done remarkably well for herself. And I don't mean getting married to Harry, but all she's done in her life so far. Which is a lot more than I have achieved in my life, and I'm a lot older than she is.

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 12:15

Thatโ€™s absolutely fucked.

(racism above).

How do you, personally, define racism?

On another thread last week, posters were claiming this was an Invictus business trip. Is that still the case, do they think?

It was a combined trip for Invictus and Archewell. Harry and Meghan attended events for both. I did think it was only for Invictus because thatโ€™s what the tabloids were saying it was for (thatโ€™s what was being talked about on here). Iโ€™m glad it was both. Iโ€™m not even sure now that Harry announced the visit before hand? I only remember the Nigerian announcement. Harry and Meghan often donโ€™t announce attendance at events beforehand.

So the Archewell bit was kept hidden? Or they suddenly thought to add on as we are in this neck of the woods a few of their own things? Invictus was used as a guise.

oh please, sell it somewhere but not to us.

It's not the first time people have had their identity challenged by others on MN. There's even infighting so it is to be expected.

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 12:25

It is, but we donโ€™t have to pretend stupidity.

WhatAreThey · 14/05/2024 12:27

As expected in order to give Willy's fan base something and more likely an attempt to overshadow the successful Nigerian tour, Charles has given Willy Harry's battalion to command.
