Pulling up right in front of St Paul's and waving as if he's on a Royal tour. He'd get a bit more respect if he just arrived with everyone else but nope, still pretending to be a working Royal.

Wasn’t he brave to walk up the steps all by himself in such a dangerous country ??

Hoolahoophop · 09/05/2024 09:56

There are so many parallels to King Edward VIII and how he spent the rest of his life cosplaying a Royal in deep regret

It is fascinating, breaking out of any institution is really difficult. Military personnel can struggle when they get out and return to civilian life. Prisoners struggle when they are released. Retirement can be devastating for many after years of programmed work. Turns out leaving the Royal Institution is the same.

Poor Harry seems to have done not a lot for a long while, cosseted by the firm, then everything all at once without any planning and he seems a bit lost.

Good point. Royal public life is planned months if not years in advance and you can bet PH made no plans at all to adjust to civilian life because he thought the RF would roll over and meekly accept his demands. And of course there were going to be all those fabulously lucrative projects to occupy his time.

Even down to the haggling over money and how much the Windsors should be paid after the abdication

Yes, that's another one MrsD - let's just hope the similarities don't extend to the prince's wife's involvement with other men Confused

I just saw some of the video of him doing the walkabout after the service, the top of his head, his bald patch, is blurred so the bald patch and lack of hair is camouflaged (video on DailyMail). I don't think I am imagining it. 😀

It has to have been filmed by his own film crew and released by them, so funny how sensitive he must be to his lack of hair, which he made it worse with his attempts at a hair transplant, as he only has a short strip of hair at the rear after the scalp was removed for transplant.

Why did Invictus even need a thanksgiving church service? Does every charity do this? Who else attended?

To be fair, Harry commented in writing in his brothers hair loss. So quite frankly if he gives it he can take it back

Personally I would want to be a lot more confident about my own rear view before remarking on anyone else’s but this is fair comment.

It's on the DM, it's the one of him doing the walkabout.

It's so obvious it has been blurred, considering how he took great delight in commenting on his brothers lack of hair, this is so ironic.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/05/2024 10:49

So Hypocritical for posters to complain about others commenting on Harry’s appearance when so many posters have accused Catherine of having an eating disorder , being unhealthily thin etc . Plus, as others have said , Harry’s glee about William losing his hair .

LaMarschallin · 09/05/2024 10:51

"Real family"?
What now?
So aren't Meghan and the children his real family? And echoing the "blood family" thing said in the eulogy by Diana's brother - suggesting that Charles isn't his "blood father" - is extremely foolish, given the nasty (and obviously unfounded) rumours about Harry's parentage.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/05/2024 10:54

Sillystrumpet · 09/05/2024 06:30

Curious to see the Spencer’s fronting up at invictus and all the sudden loving relationship there, feels rather pointed, and the media will make much of it.

Which just says to me it really is such a shame that invictus is now all about Harry and Megan and , that they leverage it for their benefit, and little about invictus itself now.

Only one aunt and his uncle . He has another aunt and numerous cousins on his mother’s side who did not attend .
No Eugenie either .

Thedom · 09/05/2024 11:07

I think this aunt is the one who was closet to Diana, it's lovely that she supported Harry, seems like they have a close relationship. Diana and her other sister had a falling out and they had not spoken for a few years prior to Diana's accident.

Charles Spencer is a different kettle of fish though, he is the one who refused Diana and the boys a safe haven on that huge estate, I think he is estranged from several of his own children and certainly doesn't appear to be very good at relationships.

Not me, I think personal comments are mean whoever they refer to. Including the ones made in Spare.

Janiie · 09/05/2024 08:59

Trust the Spencers to pitch up. Anything to score points against the rf.

I suppose any support better late than never is welcome. Diana's older sisters must be haunted by how they didn't do everything in their power to protect their vulnerable younger sister and stop the sham marriage going ahead.

Not just before the marriage, but also after it.

She wanted to move back to Althorp but her brother wouldn't allow it.

Janiie · 09/05/2024 11:43

'She wanted to move back to Althorp but her brother wouldn't allow it'

Why does H think the sun shines out of his backside then? It is baffling that the Spencers are giving the time of day after their appalling treatment of Diana.

Beggars can't be chooses I suppose and H certainly has an ever decreasing circle family wise.

Don’t lump everyone in the same basket please Mylovelygreendress. I have made no such comment about Catherine, nor would I.

And surely we don’t base our values on what other people have done or not done?

It’s getting depressingly petty on here.

upinaballoon · 09/05/2024 12:09

So if I read it correctly, Harry knew that his father would be busy and his/spokesperson's statement said that he would not be seeing his father because he was busy and he hopes to see him soon.

And the rest is hype/stirring/wondering by newspapers, TV, us, me?

If the Spencer family members did not all support Diana all of the time perhaps it was because they found her exhausting. Of course she was lovely in many ways but maybe very demanding, emotionally.

Are there families where certain members have not always got on wonderfully well, but where healing has taken place? Harry could have a pleasant-enough relationship with his Uncle Charles without feeling that the sun shines out of his bottom.

The Spencer parents didn't have a good relationship for their children to see. I think the two older aunts have had steady marriages, haven't they?

Abouttimeforanamechange · 09/05/2024 12:17

I wonder he had the nerve to stand up and say what he did at her funeral, then.

I think anybody at that funeral who spoke should get a pass. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to attend a close relative's funeral in the full media spotlight. Grief is hard enough to process privately.

MrsFinkelstein and Janiie

Please don’t keep repeating a story about Charles Spencer that is factually incorrect.

Spencer won a legal case against The Times newspaper for repeating these lies.

https://www.ibtimes.com/princess-dianas-brother-charles-wins-legal-victory-over-claim-he-deprived-sister-home-3263024

See link to what was then Twitter in article.

The Times was forced to apologise three times for wrongfully repeating the story that he refused Diana refuge at Althorp.

The Times was forced to print an apology but media spin being what it is, it is rarely re-published anywhere, as there is an unwritten consensus between the different factions of the right wing media. Just one example among many of establishment spin!

Wake up everyone please! You are intelligent people and you are being played!

Princess Diana's Brother Wins Legal Victory Over Claim He 'Deprived' Sister Of A Home

Charles Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana, won a legal victory over a false claim in a British newspaper that he'd denied the late royal a home following the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles.

I didn’t say you had , I was simply commenting on the hypocrisy. I am assuming you are new to the RF board ? If not you MUST have seen the hideous comments about Catherine’s weight , hair, clothes ?
I don’t think it is right to comment on either Catherine or Meghan’s weight .
