Thanks, Smilesy and Puzzled. Now I know why I couldn't find it yet! 5 p.m. , 6 minutes to Go.

Ha! It literally just popped up on my news feed that he’s arrived at St Paul’s. Not sure why it’s that big a deal 😆

@MrsFinkelstein They could at least honour veterans, and not just when it suits them. It is disgraceful that not one of them attended the Invinctus service today.

It's totally understandable after the way Harry has behaved! They do honour veterans on other occasions.

Sageandparsley7654 · 08/05/2024 15:27

Harry hasn’t made it all about him. It’s the press that has done that.

The press can only report on what they see in front of them! Don't make me laugh!

Inkanta · 08/05/2024 17:04

She may well do an excellent job with great aplomb and had great fun leaping on and off horses during the Coronation - all marvellous you might say - but she is essentially wearing a costume. I doubt she feels remotely ashamed about it though as she doesn’t strike me as the reflective type. And the country never questions it!
Yes a lot of good orientation to reality in your post sageandparsley !!

Lookingatthesunset · 08/05/2024 17:06

SluggyMuggy · 08/05/2024 16:33

@Lookingatthesunset Bloody hell!! You are defending Prince Andrew and spreading misinformation.
Prince Andrew was accused of raping a sex trafficked teenager. That is illegal. She did not just accuse him of sex with a 17 year old.
Prince Andrew fought the case every step of the way, including giving that TV interview where he clearly lied his head off.
Prince Andrew then settled the case out of court giving an alleged £20 million.
He clearly is guilty as sin.

Is there a word of my post that isn't true? I'm not defending him - I dislike him intensely. I do like facts. I don't believe he was actually accused of rape either.

So you agree the Royal Family are boycotting Invictus as part of their boycott of Harry?
Time to get professional Heads of State in like Ireland. If I behaved like this in my job I would be sacked.

SluggyMuggy · 08/05/2024 16:34

That is a new low on MN. Defending Prince Andrew.

I deal in facts. That is not "low".

SluggyMuggy · 08/05/2024 17:08

@Lookingatthesunset You defended Prince Andrew by inaccurately posting what he was accused of.
Yes it is rape if you have sex with a teenager who has been sex trafficked. Someone who has been sex trafficked by its very nature can not consent to sex.

No, I think they can't be seen to be associated with him and this foolish Nigeria trip. Very sensible of them too after his stunts in Canada. They aren't boycotting anything. I doubt they would have been welcome anyway. Does Harry hold their hands when they attend an engagement with a charity they support?

I wouldn't be vaunting Ireland as an example to follow either.

Sacked what for?!!

It's a shame Harry didn't think of the impact of ostracising his family and attacking them publicly isn't it.

Of course they aren't going to pitch up at his latest thing. He's doing fine all by himself. We all know the rf support the military massively but just as you wouldn't expect estranged Harry to pitch up at a Prince's Trust gig or Earthshot prize giving well vice versa. This is his thing as he's made patently clear.

Of course they are not “boycotting” Invictus. Harry is the patron. Why do they need another member of the RF to attend? They are probably (and not unreasonably) concerned about him feeling they are inserting themselves in to his charity. They are not snubbing veterans. As pp have said, they are involved in other veterans charities.

Edited

Sacked for not attending something their estranged son has organised. Hmm must be a tough place the pp works at Grin.

They aren’t boycotting invictus any more than they are boycotting any other charity event they don’t attend Confused

Thedom · 08/05/2024 17:15

"Boycotting" FFS, more bullshite.

BemusedAmerican · 08/05/2024 17:17

Charles is at a garden party for 8000 people, including military people. William just made Ridley Scott a Knight and invested a lot of other people. I don't see why thousands of people had to be rescheduled for an event with a few hundred. The Spensers and Harry's beloved lawyer are attending. If Harry has any problems, I'm sure his lawyer will tell him what to say.

To be fair, there's the excrement of about 100 bulls right across this thread!

Janiie · 08/05/2024 17:19

I respect KC for not jumping when H appeared. Let him wait in line and realise just how far down the pecking order he is. All very sad but as everyone keeps on telling us The Markles don't need the rf so off you go then.

None more than the bullshit of an imaginary 'boycott' to be fair.

Nowhere.

Quite. Let them manage without the Bank of Pa.

Janiie · 08/05/2024 17:40

I just wish the media would stop reporting on him. H walks into St Paul's, I mean so what.

Before anyone jumps on me yes yes feature IG. Just less of their tedious patron, they don't need him and his dramas.
