Absolutely delighted to see that my responses have generated nine or so outraged replies! That must be a record!

To be fair you sounded pretty outraged yourself in your very lengthy in-depth analysis so you will get replies in kind.

I think it shows what a good guy he is that he's still supporting the Invictus games when he could have walked away from all that. I certainly would have done, especially living thousands of miles away.

You think that makes him a "good guy"? How bizarre!

I hardly think so - there's not been a lot of cancer in the royal line other than smokers.

You would know wouldn't you 🙄🤣

StartupRepair · 08/05/2024 00:38

The Invictus games is the only thing left from his former life which gives him any global standing apart from his parentage.
There are now questions being asked about the funding for the Games and the costs of Meghan's many outfits, 5 star hotels etc.

So bizarre of me to think that someone standing up for disabled and sick veterans and servicemen and women is a good thing. I guess you just kick them in the street after stamping on a puppy.

And for those contradicting me on the hand-shaking point saying it’s factually incorrect; maybe you should take note of Princess Anne’s and Prince Edward’s own words?

Have you ever heard the phrase of “actions speak louder than words” I could post endless pictures of royals shaking the crowds hands, just because Anne prefers a more old school royal style and (says herself times have changed therefore proving my point) and Edward didn’t want to shake hands on one particular occasion of his mothers death does not make your blanket statement true. Anyway here is a picture of the lovely Sophie shaking hands with the crowds just in case you missed it.

I would never kick anyone, nor would I stamp on a puppy. That is insane.

Harry isn't standing up for anyone. He is using Invictus to further his own ends. Have you seen Meghan and her posing? Wake up and smell the coffee!

A lazy listicle isn't going to tell you much, but anyway by that same source, his grandmother being diagnosed with multiple forms of cancer doesn't count? Besides, genes also account for predisposition to cancer in smokers, and cancer screening tests really only came about during the 1970s.

There is no evidence of the LQ being diagnosed with cancer??

This thread is bizarre.
It is fine for the Royal Family apparently to wear military uniform and medals whether or not they have actually served.
It is not okay for a member of the Royal Family to found Invictus for veterans and to continue as Patron.
It is fine for the other members of the Royal Family to avoid the Invictus event. Suddenly they are all far too busy to support this.
It is fine for supporters of the Royal Family to use social media to attack Invictus, and by default attack the veterans participating.
I feel sorry for Johnny Mercer who is working hard to try and bring Invictus to England. The lack of support from the British Royal Family and the social media attacks on Invictus by some British people make his job much harder. But unlike many of those commenting Johnny Mercer served so understands the importance of Invictus to Veterans. He understands the key role it plays in supporting injured and disabled veterans and providing a sense of pride for many.

BemusedAmerican · 08/05/2024 02:14

Admit it. The true reason Charles won't see Harry is that he is afraid that Harry will hand him a bowl filled with lemons and a jar of shoddily labeled jam and ask him to post a photo of Charles eating the jam on the BP Instagram account. Charles is no pushover.

AnnieSF · 08/05/2024 02:35

Agree with you @MacavitytheMystery - Camilla looked suited and booted yesterday on her school visit! The last 3/4 months have given Charles time to reflect on things.

MegsNaiceJam · 08/05/2024 02:55

I expect Charles got wind that the Prince of Sulksex wanted a Royal Patronage for Mingeagain’s jams.

I suspect Dr Richard Montgomery, British High Commissioner in Nigeria has had KC's private sec or equivalent on the blower saying something akin to Malcolm Tucker /Peter capaldi from The Thick of it ... I'd love to be a fly on the wall as to what the palace think of those two monteshitshow clowns

I bloody love the phrase “on the blower”! It needs to be used more often.

MacavitytheMystery · 08/05/2024 03:17

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/05/2024 00:05

Also, I think King Charles needs to be very careful here. First, I think he should be taking the high road and trying to heal the rift between his sons and between himself and Harry. That is what a responsible parent should do, particularly one with uncertain health. He has taken the high road, despite all the dreadful things his son has said about him for money, King Charles has said nothing publicly in retaliation apart from recollections may vary, as for healing the rift, maybe he has tried, and William never has to have anything to do with Harry if he doesn’t want to, no one has to tolerate emotional abuse.

One of these days KC will be attending church and the story of the prodigal son will pop up in the readings and if he has any conscience at all, he will feel very uncomfortable indeed. One of these days King Charles will be dead and Harry, if he has any conscience at all will feel very uncomfortable indeed.

Well said!!

@qwertyqwertyqwertyqwerty
I have been under massive stress from my family for two years, and now I have cancer. I do think there is a link. Stress affects the immune system and that can give cancer a chance. It may not be the only reason, but I think it contributes

I am sorry to hear you have cancer, and I really hope your treatment goes well Flowers

Cancer Research UK says The best quality studies have followed up many people for several years. They have found no evidence that those who are more stressed are more likely to get cancer.

MacavitytheMystery · 08/05/2024 05:31

I imagine that Harry allowing the Scobie creature to announce that Charles and Kate are racists was the final straw.

Also Charles is not allowed to get to know his grandchildren it would seem.

How have they measured this? Alternative therapists know that there is a link, it’s clear when talking to clients and taking their histories. I don’t imagine Cancer Research looked in detail at the lives of a large sample of people for at last two years prior to getting. Cancer .

Harry does not think Charles or Kate are racist, he has great love for both and has expressed that. The way he spoke about his father in 'Spare' (which I am sure you have read), was extremely moving. He is not responsible for a misprint in a book written by somebody else and published in another country.
