William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

The Moon Landings, the Bolshevik Revolution, the Battle of Ypres, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the release of Nelson Mandela....
Were any of us there to verify these things actually happened?

OneHeartySnail · 29/04/2024 15:51

For those who would prefer us all to discuss Liz Truss's impact in the economy - sorry, not possible, we weren't there so we don't know, and should give her the benefit of the doubt...

Why did I waste so many hours of my life learning to analyse historical sources and write thousands of words about them? Hours I will never get back 😰

Maybe Mandela was never in prison in the first place? Maybe we should give the apartheid government the benefit of the doubt?

Or... not.

But none of us know for sure when those photos were taken or whether they are genuine photos?
Photographs nowadays do not automatically qualify as “facts”.

There was a story in a newspaper recently that the choir master, Gareth Malone, had refused an invitation to stage a musical event at one of the christenings of H and M’s children. He clarified that the story was entirely fabricated!

We do know for sure however that press outlets make money from publishing hundreds of negative stories about Meghan because clicks can be encouraged by appealing to people’s basest instincts.

And who cares whether the wife of the second son wears Wellies or not or which entrances to KP she used? Maybe she was lost? Maybe she was meeting someone! No one knows.

Some people like to give others the benefit of the doubt and some don’t. Really, it all boils down to that! But none of us can claim to know unless we were there!

Edited

The photos appeared well before the story that they contradict in this case though. So the story that Harry is telling does not tie up with the photos that were published several years previously of that particular occasion. No crazed mob pursuing Meghan. Not to mention no magazines with her photo on the cover. So on the balance of probabilities, Harry is talking bollocks. But anyway. I’ll leave you to it

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 15:55

Maybe there was never Apartheid! They made it up.

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 15:56

The talk of Mandela does remind me of Meghan's claim of the South Africans dancing in the streets with joy when she married Harry, just like when Mandela was freed!
One of my favourites! 😂

Devonisheaven · 29/04/2024 15:57

Let’s hope @Remembermetoonewholivedthere is never on a jury, she wasn’t there! so lets all the robbers and killers go free!

Yes, perhaps mentioning Mandela was unfortunate in the circumstances ...

Did anyone ever track down the flight attendant who collapsed at Meghan’s feet thanking her for all she did for our country?

Didn't they kneel beside her?

Meghan is the one who collapses.

I mean, there was that photograph of the late Queen and Liz supposedly being invited to form a government as PM, but we can’t trust any photos in this day and age. So we can’t even be sure Liz actually ever was PM. And since we have never met her, we can’t even be sure she exists.

Devonisheaven · 29/04/2024 16:10

My bad! @OneHeartySnail it gets confusing with all the collapsing, dancing and sobbing!

Oh yes, the one who knelt and thanked her for her service?....

BoohooWoohoo · 29/04/2024 16:16

Front pages on newspapers are screenshot and saved all over the internet. If you are sure that the BBC fabricated those front pages then there will be images of the front pages that you think happened. That would immediately back up your view that Harry was telling the truth.
You won’t be able to find those images because they don’t exist. Trump understandably dominated the front pages that day.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/04/2024 16:17

If we're onto photos which prove nothing it works the other way too, as in the frequently namechanging poster who linked an alleged image of William in blackface

Trouble is it wasn't William at all, but oh the gymnastics to "prove" it was - even to the point of insisting he "must have been kneeling" because the actual guy was much shorter

It got quite hilarious in the end ...

I am attending an on-line meeting now thank you.

I hope you are more constructive in your meeting than you are here....

Oh yes, the one who knelt and thanked her for her service?....

…. and then she collapsed😂😂

After settling into her seat, Meghan recalled how the head of the plane crew knelt down next to her and gave her some encouraging words.
She explained: 'He took his hat off and I just remember looking at him.
'And he goes, "We appreciate everything you did for our country."'
Discussing the emotional impact it had on her, Meghan continued: 'It was the first time that I felt like someone saw the sacrifice.
‘Not for my own country, for this country. It's not mine.'
When she landed in Canada, Meghan said she 'collapsed' into the arms of one of her and Harry's security guards.
The Duchess said: 'I was like, "I tried so hard!" And he was like, "I know you did. I know you did Ma'am. I know you did.'"

The problem when you repeatedly tell fibs, is that they catch up with you and most people subsequently question other statements made by you.

The boy who cried wolf comes to mind.

ArcaneWireless · 29/04/2024 16:35

This happened. Some might say he was actually dressed as a smarties tube though.

And that it wasn’t him as that photo was clearly taken in 1726.

And as for emperor’s new clothes?

Doesn’t he look resplendent in his powder blue Elvis suit?

Have blurred it just in case anyone gets the conniptions about crimplene….

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 16:41

That story, @StormzyinaTCup !!
"Sacrifice" 😂
You'd think she was Harriet Tubman.

@ArcaneWireless 😂😂
Thank you for blurring 😂🍆!

Of course they don’t get pursued round the streets. Otherwise they wouldn’t be walking around said streets . I used to work in a large well known London store and no one pursued the many celebrities who frequented it and they were relatively easy to catch on a confined space like that! The celebrities even interacted with the staff like any other customer 🙄

I sat on a bench in Central Park and watched Madonna walk by with another woman and a man (perhaps security). No one pursued them.

If no one is pursuing MADONNA, no one is pursuing Meghan Markle.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 29/04/2024 17:03

I once stood in a train vestibule all the way from Reading to Paddington with the lovely Alan Rickman. I managed not to do anything that might frighten him or make him collapse onto the floor crying.
