William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

Ah. Sense of humour failure in evidence I see 😂😂

Don't be mean @smilesy, the random Piers Morgan reference will have had them all rolling in the aisles.

You have to feel a bit sorry for Harry, he actually believed her tall tales of British people in a shop minding their own business, suddenly recognising the then girlfriend of Harry whipping out their phones and chasing Meghan back to KP screaming her name!

Why feel sorry for him if he believes something as ridiculous as that?

Then again it's no more stupid than the claim of South Africans dancing in the street a la Mandela, or an airline captain kneeling to thank Meghan for her service, and for all I know he may have believed those too

Tezza1 · 28/04/2024 21:01

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain The role of Gabriel Oakes was the first time I consciously noticed Alan Bate. I was 13 and never really got over him. A couple of years after that, "Nothing But the Best" on late night television was one of my early introductions to black comedy. I thought Alan Bates was just right in that.

But, Gabriel Oakes...sigh.

God, that was a film. Bates AND Stamp with that sword play. How to be outrageously smoulderingly sexy fully clothed and not even touching each other.

Yeah, tell them you need to know so you can report back to Mumsnet.

Ah, thanks, Milkshake. The last time I was at St Paul's I was accosted by some Spanish tourists asking for directions, so that could easily happen to Harry, which would be disconcerting.

Happened to me DD in Rome. A teacher thought she was part of a group of Spanish students, and showed her a book she was passing round the students. I think were a bit non-plussed when she responded in Spanish and the kids all laughed. DD is 27, schoolkids around 15!

Not forgetting Julie Christie, who I do think may be one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived. So much gorgeousness in one film.

Tezza1 · 28/04/2024 21:19

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain Ah, Terence Stamp was so beautiful, but Sergeant Troy was such a believable pig. Stamp, however, did break my heart in "Billy Budd".
The 60s seemed to be a time for excellent young actors.

Terence Stamp and Michael Caine were flatmates, and Michael Caine was jealous of his success with women.

I'm Australian, and one of the things that impressed me with "Far from the Madding Crowd" was just how beautiful the countryside was, and different to where I lived - not surprisingly, as I lived in Sydney. I initially saw the movie at the cinema because we were reading "The Woodlanders" at school, and it was suggested that it would give us an idea of the Wessex setting.
Anyway, sorry, I don't wish to be accused of trying to take the thread off track.

And yeah, I hate bullying. On here and in RL.

Thedom · 28/04/2024 21:25

There is a video of a group of cyclists bumping into the King having a stroll alone in Balmoral, he stopped and chatted with them, no security, no one screaming, no iPhones out, one of the cyclists was filming the cycle route and still had his bicycle camera running, it's a really lovely video.

No drama.

You don't. You couldn't defend Meghan and Harry if you did. Or is it just some bullies you have an issue with?

Lndnmummy · 28/04/2024 22:03

WhataPithy · 28/04/2024 20:39

Yeah that never happened. Just goes to show the contempt Harry has for us civilians though. Zombies 🙄

Graham Norton once came in to the same tube carriage as me, no-one screamed or even tried to hassle him.

So are you saying that Meghan can't have possibly had any issues with the press, that she is a narcissistic fantasist, because the one time you saw Graham Norton on the tube, he was left alone?

My main problem is with racist bullies.

No, you are deliberately misunderstanding.

What people are saying is that it's not the British way of reacting to a famous person. I know any time I've encountered someone, I have made a point of not looking at them too much. I think it's rude.

The commentary has not been about any issues with the press, her narcissism or Graham Norton. The matter being discussed is her parading around in wellies. Do keep up.

Identify them?

So you're ok with bullies then so long as it's not due to racism? I am so goddamn fed up with this racism shit. Do we have to love every POC for fear of being racist no matter how badly they behave? So stupid! You've totally lost the argument as far as I'm concerned when you come out with that crap!
