William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

What I don't understand is the pure naked rancour directed at Harry and Meghan.

That's on you.

Runnerinthenight · 28/04/2024 19:36

Inkanta · 28/04/2024 12:48

It comes across that way. It's not so much a criticism as wanting to understand what it's about.

Well if you don't know what it's about, after all the things they've said and done, I pity you.

Runnerinthenight · 28/04/2024 19:39

Inkanta · 28/04/2024 13:21

I can see how you took me literally but I was tongue in cheek by including smiley faces. I don't actually dislike Harry and I tend to respond on these boards when he gets a good kicking.

Frankly he deserves a good kicking. What motivates you to be a self-appointed Harry defender anyway? Can you not understand that he has behaved appallingly?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 28/04/2024 19:39

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 19:24

Oh yes, @Runnerinthenight - apparently we can't say anything interesting and informative about people we've never met. Which obviously means I have to shred my dissertation on William the Conqueror.

What a bastard. Literally. 😂

(Yes, I'm repeating myself. That's too good not to use again, IMO).

Devonisheaven · 28/04/2024 19:42

Despite it all, the RF controls the press. And also the weather. They are that powerful, but not very competent, which is why the negative stories keep coming and it won't stop raining.

Just had to post this again, it’s worthy of a standalone! @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar

I don’t have to inform myself of anything that I don’t want to thanks, certainly about bullies that I have no interest in.

I cant be bothered to respond further tbh.

Good!

Their plan, clearly set out in their own words, was give up receive "funding through the Sovereign Grant, thereby making them members of the Royal Family with financial independence” (the Sovereign Grant provided 5% of their funding needs, the other 95% coming from then-Prince Charles). Their intention therefore was to still be bankrolled by Prince Charles, but no longer be subject to the Nolan rules, which prohibit them from benefitting financially from their position

It's that 5% from the Sovereign Grant/95% from Charles which interests me, though of course Charles was supposedly using the Duchy or Cornwall money for this and that's now controlled by William

Doubtless H&M considered the loss of the 5% a small price to pay for "financial freedom", and as you say expected Charles to keep subbing them, but what's happening now the Duchy's been passed over is anyone's guess

For all Harry's claims about being "cut off" I wouldn't want to assume Charles isn't still paying, even if it's from the Duchy of Lancaster now

Well now Charlie has the duchy of Lancaster (and huge private wealth) to support grown adults from, should he so wish. So that wouldn't be a problem should he ever want to put the prodigal back on the payroll.

LiterallyOnFire · 28/04/2024 19:47

Her route took her past the Daily Mail offices on Kensington High Street. Allegedly she walked up and down in front of their offices a few times to ensure she was noticed , and they sent a photographer out to take her picture.

Oh god that was funny. And everyone pretending wellies were unremarkable footwear for a bit of shopping in Kensington.

Meghan loves the titles and the status!

If that was true, why didn't they stay happily in the UK as part of the Royal Family?

That's easy!! Because they weren't allowed to hawk their titles in the UK! Is that too hard for you to understand?!!

Runnerinthenight · 28/04/2024 19:53

Lampzade · 28/04/2024 17:21

Some of you anti Sussexes posters spend an inordinate amount of time criticising and hating on this ‘irrelevant’ couple .
I don’t come on these RF very often but when I do I am shocked by the number of threads started by the detractors of this ‘irrelevant’ couple. Meghan should have her own section separate from the Royals
Some of you need to give yourself a shake.

If you don't like it, you know what you can do.

Devonisheaven · 28/04/2024 19:57

Thedom · 28/04/2024 18:13

This was easy to find, from Spare about that shopping trip (I think). I think she totally messed with his head.

This is hilarious! You have to feel a bit sorry for Harry, he actually believed her tall tales of British people in a shop minding their own business, suddenly recognising the then girlfriend of Harry whipping out their phones and chasing Meghan back to KP screaming her name! You couldn’t make it up…….but the proven liar did!

Although it’s funny it’s actually quite sinister how she operates and messes with his head, increasing his paranoia, we saw this on their Netflix mockumentary first hand when the pizza delivery guy was on his moped behind their car and she was telling Harry they would soon be safe and then we see Harry swinging his head with the anxiety of it all.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 28/04/2024 19:58

Afternoon shift a bit late clocking on today, must be a late start on Sunday.

IME of the British (and being British myself) they might take a picture and nudge their neighbour and say 'Isn't that Harry's girlfriend?' but scream?....nah. I've been in places where TV personalities have been like the tube and the pub and most people very pointedly don't look in their direction for any length of time.

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 20:07

You don't on the tube, it's considered bad form. I've seen famous people in shops and restaurants in London and people generally leave them alone.
It's highly improbable that there would be any kind of pursuit of Meghan. However, it does tap into Harry's issues with his mother - unlike Meghan, she actually was pursued.

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 20:07

Oh my God the pizza guy scene - Harry was definitely anxious there.

I used to be on a fan site for a well known actor and consensus was you see them in a restaurant, you do NOT approach. Outside the theatre where they're appearing - that's fine. I used to work in Covent Garden and you couldn't move for celebs (I once brushed shoulders with Alan Bates <swoon>)

For the young ones

Devonisheaven · 28/04/2024 20:10

I can’t imagine it even happening for Taylor Swift let alone some random girlfriend of PH who no one had ever heard of.

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 20:13

Both Sophie and Kate shop in the area, and have been seen in Peter Jones. Edward was seen in Waterstones. Famously, someone saw Anne buying a hat in BHS on the High St!
They have all been left alone.
The relatively unknown girlfriend of a royal would definitely not be pursued!

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 28/04/2024 20:15

Well quite. Some people tell a lot of porkies. Some people believe them. Most do not.

Yeah that never happened. Just goes to show the contempt Harry has for us civilians though. Zombies 🙄

Graham Norton once came in to the same tube carriage as me, no-one screamed or even tried to hassle him.

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 20:41

I've just read that they're going to Nigeria!
That's surely less safe than Westminster Abbey? I could be wrong.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 28/04/2024 20:46

It's St Paul's @SuziQuinto . And to be fair, if you spend too much time in the vicinity of St Paul's, you are in serious danger of being bundled onto a tourist bus by a persistent tour guide. Being forced to do a tour of all the palaces he is no longer welcome at would be quite triggering for Harry, I think.

Lndnmummy · 28/04/2024 20:53

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 28/04/2024 18:12

Yes, yet another time they have framed a "victim of invasive media" narrative around their own attempts to court it. It would be laughable if it wasn't so dangerous, because the credence their supporters give to these easily disprovable claims is being used to promote censorship.

Your post would be 'laughable if it wasn't so dangerous'.

'Easily disprovable claims', did Piers Morgan help you with your 'evidence' 😂

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 20:53

Ah, thanks, Milkshake. The last time I was at St Paul's I was accosted by some Spanish tourists asking for directions, so that could easily happen to Harry, which would be disconcerting.

Funny, I work by St Pauls and this has never happend to me. Will check with my colleagues tmrw if this has happened to any of them.
