William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

Gossip is just a reflection of empty minds and is not a positive attribute so why do it.

"For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn?"

Jane Austen? Never met her.

JaneJeffer · 28/04/2024 11:39

But I'm sure she didn't use American spelling

But discuss people you don’t know, will never meet and who don’t know you. How can you ever say anything remotely informative or interesting about people you have never met. All you are doing is gossiping. Repeating things others have written or said, mainly made up stuff. Even when repeating whatever Harry said in his book (s?), it appears to have been decided that he wrote lies and only lies whereas third, fourth and fifth hand information is truth.

Why not, at least discuss something that might make a difference to people such as Andrew being with minors and his mother accepting it. This is the ilk of the family you like to gossip about. At least make a noise about illegal activities in the hope it can prevent other young girls being brave enough to
speak up. Gossip is just a reflection of empty minds and is not a positive attribute so why do it.

Are you saying that all the intellectual scholars of the world are just gossiping? I didn't realise that at University my years writing about Hitler or Ethelred the Unready were gossiping! Next you will be saying the British Museum are gossiping about the Anglo Saxons.

A champion gossip and not always a pleasant one, if her letters are anything to go by. But she knew the people, so that's OK. 🙄

ArcaneWireless · 28/04/2024 11:48

I have explained my reason for my dislike.

Sometimes when you live it, you can spot the same behaviour in others.

And sometimes when things are seen, you cannot unsee it. And sometimes it merits a comment.

I’d feel the same about any malicious liar.

As for intense strength of feeling? No. I have more important things to be concerned about.

How odd to make that assumption.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/04/2024 11:49

Mylovelygreendress · 27/04/2024 23:12

If it was all so often why did they want to remain part of it ?

I imagine you meant "awful", MrsD, but don't hold your breath; this has been asked time and time again from the start and I've never seen an answer yet

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 11:50

I'll answer: wealth, titles, privilege, status, fame.

Devonisheaven · 28/04/2024 12:00

Inkanta · 28/04/2024 11:36

Yes but some intense strength of feeling is apparent.

So what? You declared your love for Harry on another thread with a big heart emoji! Your strength of feeling is indeed apparent.

Devonisheaven · 28/04/2024 12:04

I see the old favourites have made a return. Why do you care? You’ve never met them! And my personal favourite, but Andrew! Ah the nostalgia.

My favourite is 'they don't care about you or what you think.' Well, on a personal level no, but then neither do millions of people outside my friends and family. I don't expect the RF to have a care about me personally, I'm not that egotistical.

What they do care about is that they rule by the will of the people as expressed via parliament, and that's very much them 'caring what you think;' because the RF knows and the late queen acknowledged, if the people of Britain wanted the monarchy gone strongly enough then it would go.

Oh the irony of being reminded about freedom of speech, thought and criticism in this context 😃😃
when anyone who dares to criticise the RF on this forum is subject to repeated challenges ad infinitum until they virtually no longer post! We’re quite used to it thanks!

Yes, challenges. And if you have a valid argument, you challenge back. That's called free speech and a discussion. Freedom of speech isn't the right to say anything you want to and not get questioned, corrected or challenged on your words.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/04/2024 11:17

I never understood that

If Ngozi Fulani was telling the truth about what was said it was such an obvious offence that I can see no reason for an effective "she didn't mean it"
And why did Harry take it upon himself to declare this - aren't we supposed to take the lead from PoC themselves as to what's racist and what's not?

There has to be more to this story, but what it is may never be known

Because he appears to be the arbiter of racism.
A white prince. 🙄

They're not so glittering if your wife's so desperate she's driven to suicide though, are they?

Obviously we've no way of knowing if that claim was true either, but if that was me faced with something like that I wouldn't be talking about half in/half out arrangements - I'd be out of there completely

He showed an astonishing lack of engagement with what was a very serious MH situation. I still can't work out why.

Tumbleweed on the Sussex Squad question I see……typical.

I've already said somewhere on the thread (think it was this one) that I think any bullying of Kate and William going on is awful too.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 28/04/2024 12:41

Hopefully that includes perpetuating unfounded and debunked theories about him having an affair.

Inkanta · 28/04/2024 12:43

Yes that was me tongue in cheek - my response to what I saw as escalating rancour. I go the other extreme and defend Harry and Meghan - not because I am a massive fan as such.

SuziQuinto · 28/04/2024 12:45

"escalating rancour" - that word again.
No-one on here is bitter or resentful.
Although it does sum up H&M!

Thank you for your response. So you agree that the Sussex Squad go too far too?
It’s just that I don’t understand why some posters are completely silent and avoiding any discussion as to what’s going on. It’s less of a group and more of an organisation that terrorises people. Not just the Prince and Princess of Wales but anyone and everyone that comes on their radar. Yet ironically there are posters on here talking of freedom of speech; the Sussex Squad want none of that when it comes to views of anything less than sycophantic in support of their idols, and even Harry has been critical of the first amendment and freedom of speech!

It comes across that way. It's not so much a criticism as wanting to understand what it's about.

ArcaneWireless · 28/04/2024 12:54

Perhaps one day, folk will comment on what is written and not just what they think is written.

Rancour my arse.

Your post certainly didn’t come across as tongue-in-cheek at all, you said you loved Harry and always will, no corresponding cheeky faced emoji, nothing wrong with you loving Harry, though can’t see the appeal myself, just own it, I don’t like Harry one bit, nothing wrong with that either.
