Couldn't resist opening it with this from the last thread 😁

Oh Ellen, Apparently she is on the circuit bleating on about losing her show due to being accused of bullying. I was surprised to see Harry’s buddy Nacho came out all guns at the time, defending her (as did a gazillion other celebs) What a very tight clique they all are.

The awful clip of her trying to destroy and humiliate a youngTaylor Swift resurfaces every time anyone jumps to her defense, it is just awful, Taylor was almost in tears pleading with her to stop.

Bullying? Interesting.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/04/2024 11:56

Do they never think they'll get found out! It's getting comical

I'm not sure about "comical" exactly, but it's certainly no surprise that we don't hear much from Oprah and the like any more. There comes a point where folk become so toxic that others have no option but to back away, and it would be hard to blame them when there's always another opportunity with those who haven't totally blown their credibility

And I neither know nor care whether Oprah's been sent jam, though I'd be amazed if she hasn't, but maybe that's just another thing she'd rather not talk about now?

AnnieSF · 28/04/2024 11:57

I imagine that all of this jam jar stuff is Meghan pretending that this is her company but in reality it's a lead up to Netflix being involved with a cooking show or whatever. She's tried to spin it as something else. Netflix seem to want some content to get their money's worth from before. Time will tell.

CathyorClaire · 28/04/2024 12:00

So there's still only a handful of celebs who have admitted to receiving jam, the jar numbers are all over the place and at least one basket has been returned to sender but we don't know whose it was.

It's more like a really shit detective mystery than the orderly launch of a desirable premium product.

This is it in this crazy world that they all live in. It's climbing over others. It's being the loudest. It's being the bitchiest while still trying to appear not to. It's using people for personal benefit. It's keeping your enemies closer than your friends and making friends of your enemies. It's a horrifying way to live!

CathyorClaire · 28/04/2024 12:07

Surely there can't be a mention of Ellen without fondly recalling this gem of a moment?

That was one weird interview. It started with her telling Ellen about her amazing success having not had many successful auditions 🙄, then morphed into that strange pranking event.

smilesy · 28/04/2024 10:49

Is it just me or would Kevin Costner be an unusual choice of recipient 🙄

Oh, I don't know about that...

From "Dances with Wolves" to "Sings with Seals"

I read too that Adele sent the jam back. Maybe because she’s on a diet…..?!
A lot of the recipients don’t seem to be ‘friends’ as such, but WME clients.

Quid pro quo

I’m not surprised that Kevin Costner sent his jam back. He did not look very happy at the event with the Sussexes and he does not seem to have a public Instagram so creating one and doing a sponsored post would cheapen his brand.

If you believe that, then I've got a bridge to sell you 🙄

FlouncetteLaFroth · 28/04/2024 13:10

Eyeroll emojis? There’s a blast from the past!

I’ve no money for bridges.

I’ve spent my money on jam. And cake.

Thedom · 28/04/2024 13:10

I don't know where the story of returned jam comes from, wouldn't you just dump it in the bin rather than go to the bother of returning it, unless someone really wanted to purposely insult her.

No idea about whether it's true.

Though if it happened it might be to avoid getting drawn in rather than a deliberate insult. In case down the line ARO presents it as 'Snail was delighted to receive one of our first editions' because I kept it, and it gets turned into an endorsement without me wanting to endorse it.

Salemforcuddles · 28/04/2024 13:14

I can just imagine Kevin Costner thinking "wtf"

OneHeartySnail · 28/04/2024 13:16

When people have form for distorting and misrepresenting it makes sense to be wary of accepting what appears to be a gift.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 28/04/2024 13:18

If I did not want to be associated or be said to endorse a product by tacit acceptance, I would send it back.

At least then you might avoid the following marmalades, chutney, sauces and pesto.

I would be wary of someone attaching my name to a brand, product or lifestyle I did not specifically request.

If it was sent with a request for an Instagram post in return, I can see why they’d return it so that no future “gifts” were sent.
