“Not feeling comfortable with life in the US”

I’ll begin by saying that initially When the Sussexes went to the US I genuinely wished good things for them, but since then I’m more “you wanted privacy so shut up”. Is this a case of be careful what you wish for?

Do we know that Harry lied in Spare?

The 'Recollections may vary' is an incredibly tedious phrase just as is 'Never complain, never explain'. Both super self-serving. But that's the leitmotif of the British rf.

It's fucking genius!!

And yes, we do know Harry lied in Spare.

God only knows Mylovelygreendress.

Could it possibly be that he and Meghan ( just call us Sir and Ma’am) rather like the status of the RF ?

ArcaneWireless · 14/04/2024 22:20

‘Recollections may vary’ is a fantastic term.

Useful in a polite society where you can’t just say ‘they’re a pair of lying bastards’.

The meaning is beyond clear.

It probably is fine, if you feel there's no other way to air grievances and hurt. What are the repercussions? I don't see that they're of huge consequence to Harry, given the ice cold family that he seems to have set to one side.

Which is why I say that it's good that he and Meghan seem genuinely happy, from the film footage we see.

There's none so blind that cannot see....

Repercussions? He's ruined his relationship with his family, same as she has with hers. His children don't know their cousins, or any of their relatives except for Doria. He has lost the affection of the UK, where he was always hugely popular.

Of course they are going to look happy in film footage - that's the whole point!!!

Karolinska · 14/04/2024 22:22

I intentionally used the phrase dirty knickers rather than dirty linen ArcaneWireless because that's exactly what the pair of them were airing, and fairly tawdry it was too. I watched both interviews contemporaneously, so I'm sticking with dirty knickers.

And you make a good point about Andrew.

The days of not explaining are over, especially in the brave new world of social media. It doesn't work any more.

I thought it was Charles and William who had shunned Harry?

Neither seem at all pleasant tbf; they may be no great loss to Harry.

Oh bullshit. Do you know them personally? I think they both seem perfectly pleasant!

Would you blame them for "shunning" them after he dissed them in the eyes of the world?!!! I don't!!!

Edited

Well it's working pretty damn well for the RF right now!

But is it? With Andrew for example?

No doubt.

Ice cold family?

nope.

Wary around deceitful, self serving gobshites?

Very likely.

I find the directive 'shut up' incredibly offensive. I don't know why.

Runnerinthenight · 14/04/2024 22:34

Karolinska · 14/04/2024 22:23

Opinions may vary.

Yeah, they're like arseholes, everyone has them.

However, I tend to believe her late Majesty, who actually lived through and experienced it, over a not-very-bright prince and his conceited, entitled wife.

Yes. It is.

I disagree but that's cool.

Another day, another apologist. Sigh.

I couldn't care less.

The US government is arguing that Spare is full of lies in order to defend the "Harry's visa" case. What a fantastic endorsement, and oh, the irony! The only way Harry may be able to retain his blissful life in the US is if a judge is convinced (by the Biden administration, no less) that he's a liar and a fantasist.

ArcaneWireless · 14/04/2024 23:37

Recollections may vary.

Opinions may vary.

Comprehension may vary.

Intelligence varies.

Don’t complain if I don’t explain. I fear I can’t be arsed.

They quickly realised that they can never outshine William and Kate in terms of being in the royal family and would always have to play second fiddle in the hierarchy as per tradition.

With a different woman, Harry may have resigned himself to it and found contentment in his role.

However, Meghan is not going to be upstaged by anyone and has put the flea in his ear that pursuing wealth is the only way for them to come out top.

Wealth = power.

I think she's now channelling Eva Peron, swanning around flaunting her wealth whilst pretending to care about the peasants that fall at her feet in adulation.

Only a few are falling to their feet though as most see through her and refuse to be manipulated by her.

He's a twit who has hopped on the Meghan bus and secretly dreams about pressing the bell to end the journey but would never dare to hop off the bus so stays sitting down staring out of the window whilst Meghan drives the bus furiously!

She will never be happy until she is at the top! The top of what though remains to be seen!

The QVC best sellers list.

Oh ok. I haven't read the book. The detail appears to be a bit wanting if what you say is correct but I'd have confidence that the main themes are correct. Bit dumb not to smarten up the detail too though, while you're at it.

Confident that the main themes are correct?
I thought you hadn't read it?
The main themes are that Harry was very disadvantaged in life and always got a smaller bedroom than his brother, no matter what palace or castle he was living in.
Oh and there's a whole load of weird performative stuff about Diana..

So he's either had a talking bin experience and was high as a kite when his wife was in labour or he's made it all up?
I'm not sure which option is the best.

I think like a lot of Celebs they want to be important and sought after and admired. Keeping this up takes a lot of effort and doesn't always make for happiness or contentment. You only have to look at the lives of stars gone by to see this. They can't keep holding on to the coat tails of their royal status now they are so distant from the royal family.

That's their problem, though. What are they if they aren't royal?
The titles are front and centre in their lives. That's their USP.
