“Not feeling comfortable with life in the US”

Jeezitneverends · 13/04/2024 21:09

I’ll begin by saying that initially When the Sussexes went to the US I genuinely wished good things for them, but since then I’m more “you wanted privacy so shut up”. Is this a case of be careful what you wish for?

Meghan Markle 'beginning to feel uncomfortable' with US life according to expert

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in their lavish home in Montecito, California, since 2020 but a Royal expert has claimed the Duchess is 'beginning to feel uncomfortable' with her new life.

If she is unhappy in California, they could sell up and move to Miami. Probably better polo for Harry and they could spend more time with Nacho and his family.

CoffeeCantata · 14/04/2024 15:07

As long as H & M never return to the UK, that will do for me.

@DrJoanAllenby you have absolutely nailed it…I don’t know that Harry saw the absolute ruthless ambition Meghan has….nothing wrong with ruthless ambition, but so many bridges have been burned in her pursuit of it…which probably doesn’t matter to her, but I don’t think Harry really knew what he was signing up for
Well said.

And I agree. Dr Joan, you have given one of the most perceptive summaries I've ever read of the whole sorry Sussex Saga. Thank you.

@Runnerinthenight so if someone disagrees with you it says a lot about their character? Nice.

Why thank you!

I reiterate. If a person condones the behaviour of these two users, it absolutely does speak to their character. For the record, so that you don't twist my words again. It wasn't my post that was deleted...

Geebray · 14/04/2024 18:55

No, sorry. Any story that is "according to expert" is nonsense. Unless it's one of the known Meghan outlets, such as Scobie.

I read yesterday that Harry has made a mint from Spare, so not everything with the couple is a flop.

They do seem genuinely happy together when you see footage, which is good.

Well it's not exactly something to be proud of is it?

Selling the dirt on your family isn't an achievement.

The money seems to be good. I'm not sure that pride comes into it - or even should, if other family members failed to cover themselves with glory which it appears they did.

Well, "recollections may vary"...

If you're happy to lie to make money, knock your socks off!!

So selling your story to the world at large is fine then? Well of course you can do it but then can hardly be surprised at the repercussions...

Karolinska · 14/04/2024 21:44

Do we know that Harry lied in Spare?

The 'Recollections may vary' is an incredibly tedious phrase just as is 'Never complain, never explain'. Both super self-serving. But that's the leitmotif of the British rf.

It probably is fine, if you feel there's no other way to air grievances and hurt. What are the repercussions? I don't see that they're of huge consequence to Harry, given the ice cold family that he seems to have set to one side.

Which is why I say that it's good that he and Meghan seem genuinely happy, from the film footage we see.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 14/04/2024 21:49

Oh come ON, OP. The Daily Record? Seriously?

There are always other ways or maybe just leave with dignity and don't tell the whole world about it so that there's a way back if ever needed. Glad the bloke's happy but not having anything to do with any of your family forever? That's quite the stand..

I thought it was Charles and William who had shunned Harry?

Neither seem at all pleasant tbf; they may be no great loss to Harry.

a number of things in Spare were demonstrably untrue. The memory of the morning when his great grandmother died for example. Literally couldn’t even get the country he “remembered” it in right. He can’t string a sentence together.

Would explain the desire to flap their bare trotters about with gay abandon.

Karolinska · 14/04/2024 22:05

What do you mean 'the country he 'remembered it in' HedonistHuntress?

Abra1t · 14/04/2024 22:07

‘Harry recalls in graphic detail learning of the Queen Mother's death at Eton in “2002. He wasn't there. He was in Klosters, Switzerland skiing with his dad and brother at the time", Jobson tweeted, "I know because I was there at the time..”’

ArcaneWireless · 14/04/2024 22:09

Never complain, never explain may be the motto of the royal family. It has served them well - particularly of late.

Better than lie your arses off, back down from some pretty serious allegations and knock the fight against everyday racism back about 40 years.

Not a leitmotif I’d be endorsing.

Karolinska · 14/04/2024 22:11

Oh ok. I haven't read the book. The detail appears to be a bit wanting if what you say is correct but I'd have confidence that the main themes are correct. Bit dumb not to smarten up the detail too though, while you're at it.

If the RF were so horrible to Harry , why did he want to do half in/ half out? Why is he desperately clinging on to Royal titles for himself and his family ? Why say he misses his family ? Why is he - allegedly- upset that he is not being included in Succession talks?

Wasn't it only the old Queen who clung to that motto? Charles and Diana airing their dirty knickers on prime time tv didn't exactly embrace the sentiment did they?

God only knows Mylovelygreendress.

ArcaneWireless · 14/04/2024 22:15

As opposed to Harry baring his arse and dressing in Nazi uniforms?

And the phrase is ‘dirty linen’. And lessons were learned after that. Thankfully PA didn’t learn and aired his awfulness for all to see.

Mylovelygreendress · 14/04/2024 22:16

Lessons have definitely been learned since those interviews 30 years ago . Despite all the crap thrown at the RF especially William and Catherine , no one has retaliated tempting though it must have been.
