It was not a plot by the Queen to elbow Andrew out. The Royal Family keep trying to bring Andrew back but the public complain.
Queen Elizabeth did some rare reputational damage to herself through her gestures of public support for Andrew.

I think the Queen believed Andrew was innocent, so thought it was fine for him to say that publicly.

She was stupid if he thought he was innocent. I think she probably knew he’d done it but thought he shouldn’t have to answer for it. She helped pay a victim off. That’s disgusting and unforgivable. It makes me wonder what else she did in her long reign.

The programme was interesting and I think everyone did a good job.

I agree - I think she'd have to be pretty naïve to think he was completely innocent and I don't think for one minute she did think it. But if the oft-repeated story is correct, he was golden child, she was getting towards the end of her life and I suppose she couldn't bear the thought that she'd not done all she could for him.

I can well imagine that entitled mummy's boy was quite happy at the thought of mummy bailing him out, useless article that he is.

The Queen paid £2 million to VG's charity. She did not pay her anything directly.

Disingenuous. VG sued Andrew. When they settled for a reported £12 million, VG said she wanted it to be paid to the charity. She did not personally want the money.

Do you have a link to that because I can only find information that states that only some of the £12 million went to charity.

This from the Telegraph:

Virginia Giuffre yet to set up charity despite accepting $2m donation from Prince Andrew. The Duke of York's accuser has not launched her sex trafficking charity despite accepting a $2 million donation from Prince Andrew as part of their out-of-court settlement, the Telegraph can reveal.

How desperate to try to defend the indefensible.

The settlement was agreed at £12 million and The Queen helped him pay that. Therefore she helped pay off a victim of sex trafficking that Andrew was accused of raping. Andrew is repulsive but the Queens actions were disgusting, no matter how you dress them up.

The Royal Family has been paying off accusers of sexual impropriety for centuries. You'd think they'd have worked out by now that it's not their magnetic personalities that makes them irresistible but their ability to pay the bill.
