It seems to have gone the same way as their Sussex Royal site. I don't know much about social media or PR, but this all seems pretty odd and ineffectual.

They're probably all slightly dehydrated and wearing enormous Tena (except Pippa, who probably had nothing whatsoever underneath)

Can you imagine - Tena, by appointment to the Royal Family!!

Some of the comments!

She was very pretty, but the constant posing and face pulling distracted attention from her natural looks.

This video is truly the best. Without any obvious sense of self awareness, she simply exudes narcissism at every turn. The gushy, overly familiar way she talks to the camera, as though she has the world in her thrall, is so superficial and contrived it is both laughable and delusional. I think this sums her up for who she is, far more than the blatant 'wokery for likes and followers' that she spouts on her own platform.

😂😂😂😂

And

Nobody loves Meghan more than Meghan.

shenandoahvalley · 07/04/2024 15:01

Asking for Westminster Abbey, whether it was Harry or Meghan (I’m inclined to think the former) would have been all about “we’re brothers, grandsons of the Queen, we’re equals, whatever was good enough for William is good enough for me”. Judging by Spare, Meghan will have heard Harry whinging on about this from the beginning of their courtship, and of course it would have suited her to seek equality with William and Kate.

That’s why they have always and continue to reference members of the RF by nicknames and/or by their relationships to them (your brother, his grandmother, granny, Willy etc). They want to put everyone on the same level as them. “Modernize” the RF through some sort of democratic change.

All well and good and even laudable in modern day Britain…..except for this one family. You kind of get it with Harry, he has never had a choice. But Meghan chose this, as a grown woman (not far off double Diana’s age when she chose it). And she continues to choose it with the whole “I’m well aware young girls see me as a real-life Princess”, “linked not ranked” but also “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” at every turn, securing titles for her DC because it’s their “birthright”. The sheer hypocrisy, so obvious. I don’t know how they expect anyone to take them seriously.

Did Harry not say in Spare that he told William that he wanted WM or St Paul’s but was told no . I also read ( can’t remember where) that H and M weren’t happy that they didn’t get a red carpet or a balcony appearance.

MaisieMacabe · 07/04/2024 15:06

So....not "linked not ranked" then.
Totally about privilege and status.

Yes it's cringeworthy. Like a spoof, someone taking the mick of her.

The posing, the cheesy rictus grins its is absolutely staggering that is was ever posted.

JSMill · 07/04/2024 15:14

Omg that video! She's supposed to be showing people her favourite places in Toronto but you never see anything, it's all her smug face! She is truly in love with herself.

It is not just the RF that have a heirarchy. This applies to most of the landed aristocracy. For example, Earl Spencer (Diana's brother) was the youngest of the four children , yet under the system of promigeniture he ended up with the title and the estate.
In otherwords, usually the eldest son (now it could be the daughter), inherits the estate, which avoids it being broken up.
The RF is often referred to as a firm.
Most companies or institutions have a heirarchy as well. It is not as if no understands this.
Meghan as an actress, would of known the heirarchy of various productions. Who gets top billing, etc. Who is the most important.
I am surprised that neither Meghan and especially Harry, did not understand this.

LipstickLil · 07/04/2024 15:26

Yes, but the hierarchy in the entertainment industry is different, because anyone can climb that greasy pole to the top. No one is entitled to that top spot just because of who they are - someone younger, more attractive, more talented or just someone who the public loves can go from bit part to the star of the show and I think Meghan thought that the RF would be like that too. So if SHE was the one that the public wanted to see, I think she thought she could be 'the star' of the RF.

I honestly don't think she understood in the beginning that she and Harry would never be the stars - that they would ALWAYS have to walk behind The Queen and Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, William and Kate and even George, Charlotte and Louis. The only way they'd move up the pecking order is if people above them died! And when she finally figured that out, she left.

Edited

She has a WAY overinflated ego and opinion of herself, she probably thought that as a top A list actress she'd zoom up that pole and be given priorities ... IMO anyway. When no one else sees her as a top Hollywood actress, she's a 'who's? ... oh a suitcase opening Z lister no one has ever heard of on a Netflix programme some have heard of, but not a top billing actress, one of the small fishes in a small pond.
Oh god that clip down thread is so cringe 😬... clearly very in love with herself - proper vomit inducing self importance and self adoration 🦚🤢🤢🤮

To be fair, she did bag a handsome Prince 😄

But, with no substance to back it up, it's all gone downhill.

Theraininspainfalls · 07/04/2024 15:39

I genuinely wonder how someone gets to have such a huge sense of their own importance with no basis for it at all. She honestly thinks she’s something very special.

jeffgoldblum · 07/04/2024 15:40

A handsome prince???

I think Prince Harry is handsome.

Less so now I know more about him, but he's not bad looking.

jeffgoldblum · 07/04/2024 15:46

Sadly I think the complete opposite @Geebray , I never found him attractive in any shape or form, his personality previously ( the one curated for him it seems) rendered him ok , but now we know the truth there is no redeeming qualities to him!

Ellmau · 07/04/2024 15:47

Well, a prince.

FloofCloud · 07/04/2024 15:48

@Geebray - handsome 😵‍💫 are we looking at the same Person??
He's very dim, didn't realise she was using her wily ways to get a ring on it 🤑🤑🤑👑👑👑💎💎💎💍💍💍

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 07/04/2024 15:49

I actually think that if M&H had kept in line, learned the ropes and done the hard yards of ribbons cutting without complaint, they would be the the stars of the RF now, or at least on par with W&K. They are not heirs, so could afford to have a bit more fun with it all and do something more innovative; and they could slowly make the changes they were seeking from within, especially after QEII passed away and they could influence Charles with some of the reforms and modernisations they were seeking*.

*Whatever they were, if they legitimately existed, rather than just being something to moan about for not being top dogs.

Geebray · 07/04/2024 15:51

Alright, question - who is the more handsome Prince -

Edward
Harry

Theraininspainfalls · 07/04/2024 15:51

Neither of them are prepared to work hard or put with being bored or inconvenienced.

Neither!

Geebray · 07/04/2024 15:55

I think both William and Harry were/are handsome, in different ways.
