It’s likely she made the statement before the news was leaked. Medical staff were caught trying to access her medical records. The press know people and people being people will always talk.

They waited until Lambrook broke up for the holidays so presumably they can escape to Anmer Hall now with the children.

@Bookmark1111 seriously what's your problem? I've said it's awful, but it's awful for everyone who is diagnosed with cancer. My mum had cancer eight years ago, thankfully she's still with us. I just feel with the way the NHS is struggling at the moment, Catherine definitely has an advantage. Am I not entitled to that opinion? Why is it so awful for her, but not for anyone else?

I purely came on the thread to state the royal family will always attract attention, that I believe people will leave her alone now and that it's awful for anyone diagnosed with cancer. I've nothing else to say, except there was no need to attack me like that.

I sincerely hope that these despicable individuals will think twice before they type in future (although I doubt they have the intelligence or the common decency)
It’s huge pity that MNHQ allowed the widespread vilification to go one, it certainly made MNHQ look complicit and pathetic in not stepping in, shame on them.
I hope that Kate recovers quickly and gets the peace and quiet she and her family need.

@hillaryjg in what way did I sink low? I purely stated cancer is awful for anyone. I can't see the problem or why everyone is getting so upset about what I said . I do feel sorry for her and her family.

I'm a bit confused about the hounding stuff - there's been loads on SM that I've either scrolled past or rolled my eyes at. I don't know why that would force her hand or be 'trolling' - no one has been outside KP or ringing her have they? Tabloids? Is it just the online wittering and speculation people are referring to?
I did see the investigation into access to her records which is clearly a different level altogether and outrageous.
Surely they are protected from SM if they want to be?

Imagine when your mum had cancer, that she was also trending on Twitter, having mocked up photos of hear being a DV victim.

Oh maybe, I guess it just feels like SM isn't real? Like log off and back to real life, especially if you are protected physically from intrusion.

Of course a cancer diagnosis is awful. What most of us don’t have to deal with is trying to deal with a cancer diagnosis and supporting our young kids AS WELL AS dealing with wild, absolutely gleeful speculation about the state of our marriages, our attitude to our work if we dare take sick leave as recommended by our Dr, people trying to sell our private medical docs and spending weeks poring over a hastily edited image she probably felt forced to rush out to stave off the public until our kids finished school for Easter.

I’ve also lost parents to cancer. I don’t have an issue with people who can using private treatment for the best outcomes. It’s not selfish to give yourself the best chance of recovery. Plus with how things have gone imagine her trying to protect her privacy undergoing NHS treatment. How many people in the public eye use NHS when they can go private? She’s from a wealthy family she’d have had private treatment even if she wasn’t a public figure.
