Photoshoot for the Sussex Children?

1000 replies

MrsFinkelstein · 21/03/2024 16:03

I actually hope this isn't true. It's one thing I've always admired of the Sussexes, that they have (generally) protected their children's privacy very effectively.

I hope its not related to the new commercial venture.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Meghan Markle has photoshoot of Archie and Lilibet

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: The photo-shoot, at Prince Harry and Meghan's mansion in Montecito, coincided with the launch of Meghan's lifestyle and cookery brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Nice office space, workers, PR, website...

Of course. But given Archewell's echoing acres of office space are entirely devoid of workers it seems unlikely.

I don't know much about charity law, but surely that would be misuse of charitable funds? Nice offices etc for the charity itself would be one thing, but for a private/corporate/for profit organisation to use charitable funds this way? I know the UK Charities Commission has no jurisdiction, but this should still be investigated.

There was a French documentary made a little while back investigating Archewell. The makers visited the registered offices and found them deserted.

It's all very strange.

I agree.

TBF the CC found no evidence of wrongdoing in as far as they could investigate but I think it was ill-advised at the very least for a royal to transfer charitable funds to a private company in which they hold majority control and where the disposal of funds is subject to less regulation than any charity.

Well yes, Cathy, but then Harry at least comes from a background where finances have always been extremely opaque so probably wouldn't even think of this - and that's even if he had the wit to do so

It's hard to know but there are so many questions including the Frogmore 'repayment' and what it included, Archewell's tax arrangements and the Invictus expenses it would certainly seem expedient to keep a lower profile.

Problem is they can't not be out there if they're to earn a crust.

What to do?

I really think it’s time the media started to make a fuss about this and demand accountability.

So do I, Seizethedog, and that applies to all of their finances

Good luck expecting any clarity, though; they have a LOT of experience in hiding whatever suits and skilled money managers to match, so I wouldn't be expecting disclosures any time soon

People often pay to use a registered office address instead of using their private address, where their work is actually done. I don’t think Archewell has many employees, so there’s no need for an actual physical office I wouldn’t think. Unless a huge sum of public money is used for that office, what’s the issue?

what do you mean? The royal HR conducted an investigation didn't they? It's not up to Harry and Meghan to reveal the details of that, I would assume as it involved employees and former employees that all parties would be restricted in what they could say. They denied it and thats all we know.

This thread has really strayed from the Sussex Children headline!
