I get the feeling that both Harry and Meghan are impatient and can't build something up from the bottom and learn the ropes as they go, but need to launch straight to the top without any foundations. Understandable to an extent with Harry who has never had to put the hard yards in, just be the figurehead, and has taken with him established causes like Invictus where the ground work was laid under the experienced hands of RF advisors. His mindset is probably that things just miraculously land in his lap as perfect from the off.
A bit different with Meghan who has built up a career and blog from grass roots before. But perhaps she thinks it's beneath her to do that with her status today, and maybe age is a factor - she wants to capture her audience while she is still perceived to be young/beautiful/inspirational and part of the conversation of the young monied classes she is courting. So perhaps she's got frustrated and launched too early in a bid to make something happen (like a big following and lots of online buzz). Maybe she was hoping that launching would attract collaborators with products they might want to sell through her?
I can't remember where I saw this, but there was some suggestion of a collaboration in Asia to sell her products in a country in that region. IT didn't specify which. But I can imagine goods actually made and sold in China relatively cheaply, but branded in an upmarket and aspirational "California lifestyle" way and marketed to the rich elites in that region might be quite the money spinner.
