Photoshoot for the Sussex Children?

1000 replies

MrsFinkelstein · 21/03/2024 16:03

I actually hope this isn't true. It's one thing I've always admired of the Sussexes, that they have (generally) protected their children's privacy very effectively.

I hope its not related to the new commercial venture.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Meghan Markle has photoshoot of Archie and Lilibet

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: The photo-shoot, at Prince Harry and Meghan's mansion in Montecito, coincided with the launch of Meghan's lifestyle and cookery brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Hopefully it’s just media that are putting 2+2 together that a photographer equals family photography. I too admire that they have managed to give their children anonymity

Uricon2 · 21/03/2024 17:47

They have an opportunity that the Wales's really don't around giving their children near anonymity as far as public scrutiny goes and have done so, good for them. I hope that continues but am puzzled as to why any of us would know about a private photoshoot that was never going to be distributed.

Time will tell.

Jacquiereid · 21/03/2024 17:47

I wonder if Oprah is one of the secret godparents?
🤔

Credulousloon · 21/03/2024 17:47

Imagine if they tried to capitalise on the scandal around Kate’s photo by launching professional pics of their kids as a big scoop! Surely they wouldn’t be that brazen…

Salemforcuddles · 21/03/2024 17:59

No, I don't think they would do that

ZipZapZoom · 21/03/2024 17:59

They have already used their children for monetary gain though so why wouldn't they do so again?

Salemforcuddles · 21/03/2024 18:04

Let's just say I am giving them the benefit of the doubt

I'd love to see them prove you right but I'm very sceptical given their previous photo/video use of the children.

Seriously some of you have short memories. The Wales children get trotted out all the damn time. Here they are posting letters to Father Christmas. Here they are on a family holiday to Jordan. Here they are packing care packages for poor kids. 😳

The children of working Royals. Harry could still be working part time if he wanted.

No one in this thread is disputing that we frequently see the Wales children, I'm not quite sure why you think they are relevant to a thread about the children of Harry and Meghan?

stillavid · 21/03/2024 18:44

I really don't think we will see photos of their children - I think Harry in particular really wants to keep them as private as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if all this drama around Kate means there is a thawing of relations between Harry and William - I hope so as it is very sad how it all is now.

True
sounds like they are just keeping with royal tradition (although it would be better if all royal children could have privacy)

All the time? Hardly

People said the same thing about the Oprah interview- it would never happen! But it did.

As conspiracy theories seem de rigueur on this forum now, here’s one of my own.

Harry and Meghan seem determined to raise their profile at any cost. I suspect they saw their big chance with Charles sick and Kate out of action. I absolutely believe reports that Harry offered to “help out” when he made his transatlantic mercy dash 12 minute visit to Charles, and I believe reports that Harry and Meghan offered to appear at the BAFTAs to “ease the pressure” on Will. They were likely quite enraged when this generous, thoughtful offer was rebuffed.

The Canada trip was like an ersatz Royal tour
with the focus mainly on them, not the athletes, and Harry spoke to US TV and made a determined attempt to showcase his statesmanlike credentials by weighing into discussions with First Nations (almost causing a diplomatic incident in the process). Undaunted, they proceeded to launch a brand new ‘SussexRoyal’ Website, complete with faux-royal styling and arms.

The Diana event last week was overshadowed by Harry’s late appearance on Zoom (after midnight) and the bizarre simultaneous launch of Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard Insta page.

But back to the situation with Kate…

Curiously, an AP journalist posted a tweet about the ‘killing’ of Kate’s DIY photoshopped Mother’s Day pic being a win for Meghan, shortly after AP issued that first ‘kill’ notice. Then a source “close to the Sussexes” reminded Page 6 that Meghan would “never make that sort of mistake” due to her faultless ‘attention to detail’. When this misjudged PR failed to have the desired effect, they distanced themselves from the source.

Since Kate was hospitalised in January, Sussex Squad have been busy trying to stir up drama about her online, running through a ‘greatest hits’ playlist of wild allegations - which they’ve been busily stirring up in the Celebitchy cauldron and elsewhere for years. Kate is lazy, Kate is bulimic, Kate is having a mental breakdown, Will is cheating with Rose, there is domestic abuse, Will isn’t visiting Kate in the hospital, they are getting divorced, George can’t get into Eton etc etc and they have upped the ante as time goes on. (The overlap on MN will be apparent to regular readers of these threads).

A quick glance at the timelines of prominent Sussex Squad accounts on Twitter over the past few months lays bare the complete strategy.

Then, in recent days, a series of characters from WME (the same agency that represents Harry and Meghan) has weighed helpfully into the bullying of Kate: Steven Colbert, Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively…seriously - so many coincidences…

I believe Kate will likely return at Easter and at that point, any opportunities for Meghan to capitalise on the associated global attention will dwindle. Conclusion: I suspect that photoshoot with the kids is indeed intended for public consumption.

Are We Entering a New Era of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

They’ve got a new website, a podcast deal—and even rumors that Prince Harry is up for taking a temporary role within the royal family.

Sadly, right on the money.

I think that is a very shrewd observation @Credulousloon . I have also been reading that Harry is annoyed he is being kept out of the Succession discussions which - apparently- are taking place . Not sure why he thinks he should be involved given he is not the Spare 🤷‍♀️

Salemforcuddles · 21/03/2024 19:35

Why the hell would he think he should be involved in the succession discussions?

He chose to leave, he hasn't been the "Spare" for 10yrs.

Why would he want to be involved in succession planning for such a toxic family that caused him and his wife such distress and pain?

I’ve always thought they were keeping the children back until they could market them for maximum gain. All they care about is money.

I think that's true of Meghan, but I genuinely believe that Harry wants a different life for his kids than what he had -- i.e., out of the limelight. (I don't know why I believe him, because my opinion of him is generally in the toilet, but he has seemed sincere about this.)

3kittens · 21/03/2024 19:52

How does this Sussex squad thing operate? Are they fans or do they work for H&M via some PR agency? How many are on the squad? It's hard to believe something like that exists? Who'd have the interest and time in taking part in stuff like that? Sounds pointless and toxic.

Seriously? Not short memories.

Most complain about it. Which is their prerogative.

However a lot of the time it is accompanied with ‘you don’t see H&M flaunting their kids’. Which has been one of the good things they have done.

If, for example, H&M ‘trot out’ their kids (and as I’ve said above they have no need to - they can have a fairly anonymous peace due to their parents not being part of the Royal family any more), whether they monetise them or not? Will it miraculously be ok for them to do it?

As for ‘trotting out’ the Wales kids? The rate of the shrieking for Kate to be trotted out to prove she is alive/not in a coma/has or hasn’t had a face lift/in an iron lung/got a tattoo of a giraffe on her forehead?

Those same folk greetin’ about Kate would be wailing for the kids to be trotted out within 5 minutes.

It would be a shame if they did this. Not only would it be sad that they’ve reduced the chances of their kids having a “normal life” (now or in the future), surely this is a bizarre move for two people so obsessed with security? If I genuinely thought there were credible threats against my kids from racists, Islamic terrorists or violently pro-BF persons, the last thing I would be doing would be to plaster them all over the internet or newspapers. And are people really going to be interested in discrete, cute shots of arms stirring cake batter or similar? I don’t think so, certainly not enough that it’ll help get this American Riveria Orchard off the ground.
