TMZ Producer says it ‘might not’ be Kate!

So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

What will happen next? As this can not continue any longer.

Kate Middleton farm shop video 'isn't her' claims TMZ producer who bought clip

The Princess Kate saga continues to rumble on as the executive producer from TMZ cast their own doubt on whether the farm clip was actually her, despite running the footage

@IAmThe1AndOnly why so rude?

Umm, he is the Executive Producer at TMZ. The very same producers that released the footage in the first place….

This is simple commercial realities

TMZ make money every time everyone visits their page and views the video.

So they make a shedload by releasing the video saying it’s her.

A few days later when the rate of traffic has slowed, they come out and say maybe it’s a deep fake driving all the fame people back to the new page to view the same video again to consider the evidence they have raised that it’s a fake - effectively doubling their return on the same investment

A random couple shopping most likely.

If that's what it is, how are you making out that this is somehow the fault of Kensington Palace?

blue345 · 21/03/2024 07:20

I'm not hysterical but I didn't think either the pap shot in the car or the farm shop looked like Kate.

And I don't think KP's actions have helped. It may be in a storm in a teacup but their handling of the press over the last month has felt a bit off.

What is off about it. They simply have not interacted. They have had an employee make comments to the media, like they are finding the intrusion and speculation distressing, or that they were out at a farm shop will before the video came out, and that they hoped the image would now stop this, that she is coming back after the Easter hols in April 17th but is considering doing the church walk as is recovering well.

what’s off about it, folks are not entitled to know more.

Severalwhippets · 21/03/2024 04:24

He is the executive producer responsible for the footage being circulated! I think he might know fgs.

He’s just some dude who works for a showbiz news company. He’s looked at the same video you have. And he thought it was her until he disappeared down a Twitter rabbit hole.

Now if they found a member of staff at the farm shop who said it wasn’t her, that I would listen to…

Picklestop · 21/03/2024 07:23

Severalwhippets · 21/03/2024 04:38

So many of us said it’s not her, only to be shot down repeatedly and told we were ‘crazy’ It was a reasonable question to ask given it looked nothing like her.

The fact remains we haven’t seen Catherine since Christmas Day. Three months ago now.

Let me help you out. She had an operation. She wants to recover in private. She is feeling a bit better and went to the shop with her husband. Of course it was her, how daft would the palace be to use a stand in a few days after the Mother’s Day photo.

And you spend your time reading it and commenting - what’s your point 🤷‍♀️ Mumsnet is what it is, no need to be so heinous to people.

There is no excuse for calling anyone a lunatic, insane, batshit, telling someone they need help because they voiced an opinion people don’t agree with.

That IS real mental health, there is actual people here reading this. I’m pretty sure Prince George isn’t scrolling through mumsnet seeing what’s being said.

This thread is about par for the course - especially on AIBU. May I gently suggest that if it’s triggering you because of your recent loss, you should maybe take a break.

AIBU is renowned for being brutal and this subject particularly so. My own feeling is that each time one of these Kate thread appears, the best way to shut it down is to not engage - the frenzied arguments and name calling is the response they want, otherwise they wouldn’t be posting yet more batshit conspiracy theories, and certainly not in AIBU when there’s a perfectly good RF topic.

Your post elicited an immediate reply from the OP thanking you for supporting them. It’s a feeding frenzy. Don’t feed the troll.

I am old enough to have lived through the public & media obsession with Diana . It was appalling and seriously damaged her mental health . She was literally hounded to her death . This crazy obsession with our current Princess of Wales is reminiscent of the 80s/90s hysteria that we witnessed with her MIL
KP has told us that Kate has had surgery and will be absent from public duty for 3 months . Is that not enough ?What gives the public & the media the god given right to know every tiny detail of her private life , to hound her & scrutinise every communication, movement etc . This can’t be helping William ( never mind Kate )any. He is already dealing with additional duties alongside issues with his estranged DB & SIL, his sick father , his friend's suicide and now watching history repeat itself with his DW.……and edited to say that I’ve no doubt Kates mental health won’t be in any state to make a public appearance at Easter , I’m sure all of this cr@p has knocked her back !

Edited

I'm old enough too. I can't believe we're watching it play out again. William must be horrified. He lost his mum as a direct consequence of the public and media's obsession with her, now he's watching his wife and mother of his young children experience the same pressure.

There's also the collateral damage people are overlooking. Remember the last time the public got obsessed with Kate being in hospital? Two Australian DJs prank-called the ward pretending to be the Queen and the poor nurse who took the call ending up taking her own life because of the fallout. The three healthcare professionals now under investigation might've done it off their own back, but I'll bet anything they were being lured with the promise of big bucks from media outlets desperate to satisfy a rabid public that thinks it's entitled to know every detail.

BarrelOfOtters · 21/03/2024 07:27

We’ll hear from her at Easter, like they said.

He’s just reinvigorating interest in the video as they paid handsomely for it, it’s a gossip site, it’s what they do.

facepalmdaily · 21/03/2024 07:28

The odd thing that struck me about the footage was how she was kind of directing her face towards the person taking the video. Almost like 'hi, I'm over here!'

LemonLymanDotCom · 21/03/2024 07:29

Severalwhippets · 21/03/2024 06:33

The minute the fake footage broke out into the public domain, Kensington Palace should have ensured the public knew it was not Catherine or William.

They were happy to make statements about the coma claims and other rumours but stayed silent on this, allowing it to be broadcast across the world without correction.

In their silence they were complicit, probably hopeful people would believe it (somehow) and for things to quieten down.

Why on earth didn’t KP set the record straight days ago?

Ifs not just a tiny gossip outfit running fake news, but major broadcasters paid for by the tax payers effectively misleading the country.

Crikey! If you’re worried about the cost of the BBC (who actually provide a return on investment) being borne by taxpayers, wait until you find out who pays for the Royal Family!

Mushroomsouptonight · 21/03/2024 07:29

There are so many batshit theories @Severalwhippets

Sadly there is a real person who has had abdominal surgery and needs a break from the public gaze and people like you with constant speculation are unkind.

Live your life and leave batshit theories alone. When SHE is ready she will return to her normal duties.

Remember the hounding of Diana it was fuelled by people like you with endless questions and the press provided stories to keep people like you happy with your endless questions, where is she, is she OK, why haven't I seen her, blah blah blah blah

Give over

She knows. It came up on another thread. The Royals cost the average taxpayer 77p a year.

That's right. Less than a quid. The conspiracy theorists think that 77p entitles them to know every detail of the Princess' medical condition. 🙄

Samanabanana · 21/03/2024 07:30

News site with ads posts video it knows whole world wants to see. Several days later, top dog of said news site throws doubt on video, causing the whole world to want to look at it again and again. This isn't about Kate at all Grin

It was an invasion off her privacy the distortion on the image is from a phone camera. Horrific for her

IClaudine · 21/03/2024 07:32

Hang on, no one has actually proved the footage to be fake, have they?

I am an ardent republican, but even I am feeling sorry for Kate. It must be horrible to have this level of intrusion in your life.

Springcat · 21/03/2024 07:32

The farm photos.its clearly not her ,it's a different shape face for a start
Any idiot can see it's not her .
I don't follow the royal family ,and I'm not the slightest bit interested in what they do .
But this is very obviously not her.
Anyway,it's a good way to keep them in the spotlight, the less said by RF the more people seem interested...clever

Yes.
Conspiracy theories that people like the op buy into do damage the people talked about. The poor nurse. Its damaging.

Here we go again. It's vile.

fisherfighter · 21/03/2024 07:34

Maybe it’s The Crown’s producers who are behind this. They are desperate for new material.

VestibuleVirgin · 21/03/2024 07:34

This is another OP who only anwers the points which echo their thoughts. Any reasonable questions or challenges remain unanswered because they know they'll be trying to defend their indefensible position.
