TMZ Producer says it ‘might not’ be Kate!

So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

What will happen next? As this can not continue any longer.

National trust would be the answer.

I think most worry that that Putin and his cronies would buy ‘em up and move on in.

Not many in the world have the kind of dough it takes to maintain palaces like that. Putin and company have it.

Well this thread has certainly been entertaining. I look forward to the one OP starts after Easter Sunday. It could go either way!

It really has been fun. Whatever our opinions, there are always such witty posters on this board.

In this day and age if all stepped back I don't think the monarchy would survive. Does anybody want a new family of royals? I truly don't think they would be accepted and it would be the end of the monarchy in the UK. The point still stands, that every single person in that family could step down from the limelight and remove themselves from royal duties and go private. William Kate and the 3 kids could choose to leave if they were so absolutely hounded they couldn't cope with the troughs that come with their huge peaks.

Yes but I don't think William is allowed to abdicate on behalf of George and as a minor I don't think his abdication would be accepted until he is 18, so if William stepped down tomorrow, we'd still have George as the next heir until 2031.

Of course if Charles died, and George needed a regent, and William and Kate refused to do it, we'd end up with either Regent Harry or Regent Andrew, and at the point, you are right I think the public would bring on the Republic.

I have never wished to look like anyone famous. But now i would love to.look enough like Kate to have fun being 'seen' in all sorts of bizarre places, with a mate to take grainy photos and videos, and flogging them to the gossip sites.

Farm shop? Far too fancy... buying some fags at a corner shop, or maybe own-brand vodka at the Co-op...

Coming back to say, because I missed it, I would so totally do this.

LittleGlowingOblong · 21/03/2024 19:49

The problem that Kate faces - indeed any woman marrying into the Royal Family - is that if you start trying to negotiate your way out, you probably face the mother of all wars to get custody of your children.

I reckon the reason the Firm worked so well under the Queen is that there was a fairly balanced yin and yang of her having great power as reigning sovereign but Philip doing ok because after all existence is patriarchal, always has been, always will be (yes, I’m no longer young.) Marrying into the Royal Family as a woman - even a beautiful, aristocratic one, with more actual blue blood than the Battenburgs, as in Diana’s case - means that you’re doubly disadvantaged, neither sovereign nor male.

I think what I’m driving at is that we should crown Zara Queen at the next available opportunity. ;-)

(Though I would actually love to see Harry & Meghan as King & Queen!)

Does anyone know if Charles could abdicate then be George’s regent?

It’s called manners wibbly. The thread is almost full and it felt cordial to thank everyone for their time and contributions. I might not agree with every post, but I think we all agree we want the best outcome for Kate and her family.

Interesting - but I'm not sure if he could, or why he would!

I think Harry would be back to the UK like a shot if he thought there was the chance to be regent. That alone should keep William in place. I don't think he'd want Harry influencing his kids at this point.

There may indeed be some questions regarding the veracity of certain photos or videos.

Quite remarkleable.

I do think that most of us may agree (perhaps even TMZ?) that on photo number 1

But as Regent he'd have to carry out Royal duties and that means typical mundane tasks such as tree planting, ribbon cutting and scout hall opening. Not Hollywood enough!
