So after days of so many of us saying it is not Catherine, and being screamed at, shut down and called ‘crazies’ and ‘trolls’ and all kinds of offensive names. It turns out we were right after all. It does not appear to be Cathrrine (no shock there for many of us) According to the producer that beamed this out across the world. Clearly unverified. Incredible that the news outlets just went along with it - no questions asked. What does that say about the quality of our journalism?

It was a huge gas lighting exercise.

So now we know we have one fake Mother’s Day photo and now one fake farm shop footage - it begs the question in a much more pressing way - where is Catherine? The stupid memes have to stop. This isn’t funny or anything to joke about.

No one can verify even a single shot ( I am discounting the photo of Pippa in the car with Carole, and someone’s head in the car turned away in windsor)

I don’t believe we are going to see Catherine this Easter or at any time soon. I don’t know where she is, or what has happened to her but I feel extremely worried for her.

I await Kensington Palace’s statement - it’s about time we learnt the truth. How can it be any worse than what has been speculated?

How do you mean, it can't continue? Kate has access to plenty of well-guarded acres at Sandringham, Balmoral, Windsor.....she could lie low for years if she felt so inclined.

This thread is a good example of how small the reach of the online conspiracy rabbit hole is. I'm finding it encouraging that the majority are not spreading wild theories and content with the initial statement.

I just wish the media would stop encouraging the harassment by publishing the extremist theories as if everyone agreed. They need the clicks and don't care about anything else. It isn't just about Catherine but about how the tabloids work in general, I wish it would change.

The day of the car photo with William, the car drove past a friend of mine in East Acton and he saw William and Kate in it. He had no idea about this ridiculous speculation and completely missed our group joke that he was a key witness in a missing person case. So the car photo with William was her and verified by someone 4ft away rather than looking at a blurry video. You can let it go now.

William could put this fever to a stop in an instant by sanctioning a statement along the lines of: “a palace insider said that on the morning in question, the Prince and Princess of Wales were spending time with their children.

”The source then referred to the couple’s originak statement, repeating that the Princess of Wales would resume public duties after Easter [or in April, if that’s the case], and underlining the Princess’s right to privacy”

She's had abdominal surgery, people are trying to steal her medical notes, the conspiracy theorists have gone mad because she's recovering and the picture she put out was photoshopped - like not almost every photo ever put out by someone famous isn't photoshopped/filtered in one way or another.

It's all just complete madness.

I should have shares in tin foil companies, sales must be going through the roof nowadays. Some real obsessives on these threads, how are they coping with their own lives if they are giving the photogate saga so much traction in their thinking.

He’s going to try to save some face, while also still trying to salvage a little bit of journalistic credibility (such as they have) for TMZ. Otherwise no one would touch them.

But they did, a palace source stated she’d went to the school, then out to a farm shop. The footage was released after this point, as the person captured it then went into negotiations.

Diana, Princess of Wales. Williams’ own mother. Some of us remember something very similar to what’s happening now with Kate. The media were obsessed with Diana and her mental health suffered as a result. She was hounded, harassed and finally chased to her death. By paparazzi doing the bidding of a public who felt they had a right to know every intimate detail of her life, and who eagerly lapped it up, and then publicly, and hypocritically grieved when the result of their obsession was her inevitable and yet entirely avoidable death.

If it isn't them, I think this is the most likely scenario.

I have to admit when I first saw the footage, I didn't think it was Kate, I thought the person looked too young, maybe a friend or staff member ? There is a moment when the person turns their head and does look like Kate though, so it could be her.

The conspiracy theories are fascinating. Has anyone been listening to the Radio 4 series 'How to win an information war' ? Well worth a listen and does make you think about the potential source of some of these current theories.
