we don't know anything about the effect on K & W or their children

True - I bet Kate loves to see people speculating about her having an eating disorder. I bet William loves reading about how he beats up his wife. I bet the children love reading that their mother is dead.

Are you really suggesting that what's happening on social media could be anything other than a horrific experience for this family? Many people who have been through this have spoken about it.

Oh and they can’t think it’s enjoyable for Kate to be made to feel that she’s such a “ liar” it’s “the last straw” for many. All because she wanted time to convalesce which, apart from them not having issued her medical records for public perusal or streamed the actual surgery, there is no reason to assume did not take place - as stated.

Frankly the organisation at fault is KP, without their massive PR cock ups there would be none of the crazy speculation

The crazy speculation is entirely the fault of those crazily speculating.

The royal family are subject to public attention and criticism by default. By purposefully misleading the public they’ve dug their own grave. The PR team are only adding fuel to the fire. The whole thing only began to really blow up after the badly edited picture, allowing that to be released was a massive failing on their part.

MaloneMeadow · 20/03/2024 09:36

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/03/2024 09:22

You misunderstood, I meant that because things aren't being deleted they are easy to find, not that Mumsnet should delete things.

KP could have done everything right and there would still be crazy speculation, crazy speculation is what keeps Twitter, tiktok and YouTube commentators afloat. What is different in this case is that it's reaching a wider audience.

There was already speculation, but things only began to blow up and reach the entire world after the bizarre faked family picture and ‘paparazzi shot’ - their PR team is shockingly bad

ArcaneWireless · 20/03/2024 09:38

No one is saying they aren’t entitled to criticism or attention.

The speculation though just because a woman has chosen to keep her medical information private, is recuperating and has edited a photo? Making up nonsense to fill the holes?

That is purely and simply the behaviour of cunts.

Why on earth would the children be reading anything about their mother being dead? Surely they wouldn't have unfiltered Internet access at their age. The news won't be on in front of them and they're hardly likely to be wandering in and out of petrol stations or newsagents seeing the front pages. I'd imagine they're blissfully unaware

Wickedlywearynamechange · 20/03/2024 09:40

Interesting that the part played by tabloid media is now all but missing from the conversation. They stirred the shite, it’s festered and exploded, and now they’ve started talking out of the other side of their mouth and blaming it all on social media.

.

ThisGreyPoster · 20/03/2024 09:44

No Kensington Palace caused this by releasing a faked photo. Before that it was a conversation on sites where people talk about the Royal Family, but the faked photo blew it into the mainstream.

ArcaneWireless · 20/03/2024 09:45

There was plenty of speculation before the photo so that is a nonsense.

I agree . Totally, this exploded when the Mother’s Day photo was released and killed by the press. Not unsurprisingly.

And I get fed up of people who say Kate is being bullied and then repeat awful things being said about her. I read twitter, I have not read these accusations, only on MN. Most people do not read the disgusting depths of the internet. If you are, it would be better to bring it to MN.

CoffeeCantata · 20/03/2024 09:48

@martellotower

Please read my post - it's all in there!

Someone much cleverer than me said the bots pushing this narrative are majority based in Pakistan.

That seems to be where the bot farms are located now.

And yet you posted this?

I have just looked at twitter and so many tweets about this story say she has been murdered. I think that idea is rubbish. But this story without photos is being widely disbelieved and is feeding the frenzy.

Is that repeating awful things or not? Or is it ok because you haven’t said she is getting bullied as well and have decried it as rubbish?

The crazy speculation started before THAT photo. Several days before.

That is verifiable and disingenuous to say otherwise.

You can't rewrite history.

But on whose behalf? Where are the puppet-masters and paymasters from, and in whose interests are they acting?

Not on this scale - nope. It’s worldwide abd trending everywhere now.

BemusedAmerican · 20/03/2024 09:55

KP won't make a statement because they like going to the farm shop. If they confirm, the shop will be staked out by journalists waiting for them to buy some eggs.

With that amazing bread display, who cares if the shop missed the odd piece of tinsel? I'm actually envious. I bet they have great honey, too.

martellotower · 20/03/2024 09:56

I do wonder if those who clamour for the same shite to be repeated are either loving the drama or are feart they were the ones speaking shite in the first place.

@ArcaneWireless and @Hughs these kind of implications and misrepresentations of posters seem to be the main attraction for many on these RF threads .
I've not read any posters calling K a liar or that she's the last straw .Discussion of how badly KP have handled things and how people don't like being manipulated and how it's the last straw for them in respecting the Monarchy ,yes .
But they are not the same thing as personal attacks on K.

Just because constant accusations of batshittery ,bullying, demands for details of whatever surgery has taken place etc are made does not mean that they are all over these MN threads .
They may be all over other on line content and there is no doubt the occasional mad poster on here .
But honestly the idea that these threads are full of evil people constantly attacking K &W is unsubstantiated .

Maybe it gives some a glow of self righteousness "look at me ,I'm standing up for Kate against a tidal wave of criticism ".Maybe it's confusion over what is being said elsewhere .I don't know ,but it feels like the accusers are the ones showing the bullying behaviour .

And actual video of Kate and William visiting the farm shop has zero impact on journalists?
The Palace confirmed it was Kate and William.

ArcaneWireless · 20/03/2024 10:00

Oh bless you martello

I’m not saying everyone is evil or speaking shite. Only some

And there is no self righteousness here.

Just a pair of open eyes and an uncanny ability to spot pot stirring ingénues.

MaturingCheeseball · 20/03/2024 10:01

@martellotower - what absolute nonsense. There have been countless threads on this subject full of nasty and unpleasant comments. Since MN have not deleted much, a quick perusal will give you a taste of the content.

BemusedAmerican · 20/03/2024 10:01

Did they finally confirm? I missed that. They will have a hard time shopping there again.

No. You will not deny facts and try to gaslight.

A Spanish journalist claimed she was in an induced coma the day before KP announced her discharge from hospital. That was spread worldwide.

Australian news agencies were widely speculating, as were US news agencies.
SM was boiling over with conspiracies from the day it was announced she had had surgery. It got progressively worse as time went on.

Some UK media started speculating in the week before Mothering Sunday.

The dates and stories/tweets/Tiktoks are all public knowledge. You can try and spin it all you want but facts are facts.

I think we need to change the caption from where is Kate?

To

Who sabotaged Kate?

Someone somewhere has been instrumental in allowing this freak show to happen either through sheer fucking incompetence or deliberate malice.

Either way this has a profound impact on the preception and credibility of the Royal family.
