I watching BBC live news yesterday. The initial report they had said that KP confirmed it was her. Subsequent reports then said they hadn't.

A news article I read yesterday, I think on the BBC but maybe elsewhere said that KP are in a bit of a catch 22. On the one hand, they don't want to encourage the publication of photos taken whilst they are off duty by the mainstream media, but on the other they hoped that this would shut down the batshit crazy online stuff.

I'm in the anti-conspiracy theory camp, and I've found these recent threads depressing for 2 reasons:

1. the effect on the family(ies) concerned, especially the children and
2. the horrific revelation that so many people are in thrall to crap social media and will believe practically anything the Russian and Chinese bots come up with. Except the most down-to-earth explanation, of course.

I've heard and read lots over the last few years about the danger of AI, fake news and the hostile powers behind some SM (TikTok/China) and now I see what the problem is. Very worrying.

KP could have done everything right and there would still be crazy speculation, crazy speculation is what keeps Twitter, tiktok and YouTube commentators afloat. What is different in this case is that it's reaching a wider audience.
