Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

They've taken a physical beating?

Allaboutthegrift · 27/03/2024 19:51

I doubt it Isolde.

Nor were they ‘cast out’.

They've taken a physical beating?

I think they’re referring to when Harry ended up in the dog food bowl.

Allaboutthegrift · 27/03/2024 19:53

It could be argued that they did not lose their friends and family but alienated them.

They absolutely haven’t had it easy but nor have they made it easy on themselves 🤷🏽‍♀️

This thread and the one re a photo shoot for Harry and Meghan's children is full of so many catty and hateful comments. The latter had over 1,000 posts, yet no one knows what exactly they plan to do with those photos.

Unlike on this website, a good trend I've noticed on the NYT comments section is people pushing back on the vitriol directed at Meghan and Harry in op-eds. It is good to see that there are many out there who can see through the lies from the tabloids and RF.

Well, perhaps you could judge my original post. Can you come up with a reason why Meghan just had to announce her unformed new project on the night of the Diana Awards? The Instagram page and website that she has done nothing with since? And why they announced the winner of their own award on the same night as the Diana Awards? It just had to be the same night?

I'm sure there is a super altruistic reason.

As others rightly point out, the Sussexes are not held by any sort of protocol and can release statements, etc., on the days they choose.

However, it does not look great announcing a vacuum of a site on the night that was honouring Diana. His mother.

I could understand piggybacking on it all if the site was all fired up ready to go.

But it wasn’t.

At best it looked odd. Spiteful at worst.

@Mugglewumppp I totally agree. It seems very difficult to marry a luxurious indulgent lifestyle with the other side of their stated aims. Part of the problem of course is that the extremely wealthy philanthropists are exactly that and aren't seen to be scratching around to making an everyday living. The Sussexes do need to make a living. It's contrary though - if indeed a jar of jam or honey will cost a hundred bucks it stands out starkly against other ventures. Perhaps they can include something that is part of eg the Afghan community Meghan was involved with but that's a very different market and project. It's a tough one.

No.

Tina Brown is as well-known, well-established journalist. She used to edit Tatler, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.

Tina Brown is one of the most famous journalists in America. She is originally British. She was married to Harold Evans, editor of the Times newspaper.

Tina Brown wrote (among other books) "The Palace Papers", an even- handed account of the RF's history sine Diana's death. She's nobody's fan-girl.

Food for thought from a poster on Tina Brown's NYT op-ed:

" I stopped reading at the words: Harry and Meghan Clown Show. Do you mean the escaping from the same rapid press that hunted down Harry’s mother to the point of death? Do you mean escaping from the confines of the royal institution which plants negative stories and fumbles and assigns blame to cover up other faults? Do mean using the only capital Harry has, his royal story, which is HIS story—since he was born into the royal family without a choice? Do you mean sharing stories about mental health, miscarriage, online bullying, and racism that might help stem the tide (see hypocrisy in the current protection of Kate and the denouncement of Harry and Meghan in every article about her)? Do you mean raising and donating hundred of thousands of dollars to do good? Do you mean running Invictus for wounded veterans? Do you mean rebuilding a successful web business Meghan started on her own BEFORE marrying Harry and while starring on a television show after years of auditions in the industry? Do you mean raising two children with love and care? That’s what I see. Two individuals trying to live a life, like all people using their backgrounds, skills, and talents to their advantage. They said their piece (yes, for a price to secure a future) and have taken a verbal, emotional, and even physical beating. They have been cast out of a country, lost a home in the UK, lost family and friends, been threatened by strangers and even a former U.S. president. Stop putting them down and move on."

Cant agree more.

Utter tosh!

Runnerinthenight · 27/03/2024 23:03

I really, really struggle to understand why some people stubbornly refuse to see the reality of the Harry and Meghan situation? They vaunt sustainable, then she sets up a luxury website. They vaunt environmentalism, but consistently take private jets. They set themselves up as the epitome of kindness and consideration, but treat their families like shit.

What is wrong with those who are so blind they cannot see?!!!
