Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

BigFluffyHoodie · 15/03/2024 10:30

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

I once swallowed a copy of The Sun. It had me beaming from ear to ear, but it gave me spots. So I tried a copy of The Express. That gave me the runs. Finally I thought I'd swallow The Mirror. That led me into a period of deep self reflection, and after that, I stopped swallowing tabloids.

I'd love to know which unblemished and lofty publications represent real and reliable news. Which ones don't have an agenda or a political bent. But as you point out, @AliceOlive facts are facts. We can all tell the time.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/03/2024 19:53

Reuters and Associated Press are about as good as it gets, @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar - they're not faultless and you won't get the silly chit chat and opinion pieces, but I've always found them pretty reliable on the whole

And that people think it's their own thoughts and opinion and not that they have swallowed the propaganda.

Happily we have deep critical thinkers like you here to set us morons to rights.

Industry wise, the launch numbers would be considered a great success.

Late to the party here as per but this bit stuck out for me.

It looks like the numbers have barely moved since this post was made nearly a week back.

When might a roaringly successful site expect numbers to take off?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/03/2024 12:52

When might a roaringly successful site expect numbers to take off?

Presumably when there's something on it to see, Cathy?

And there still isn't, so heaven only knows what's happening with it

Well yes, presumably because there is still nothing to purchase on the site. Poor execution for sure.

My point previously was simply that the poster saying that 500k followers for a brand founded by someone with 9m followers showed a 'huge drop off'. Because that's actually a really great conversation rate when it comes to brand owner and their brand.

But I agree the fact it's remained stagnant and there is nothing to purchase means those successful launch follower numbers might not convert to successful $$$.

So she launched an empty website on the same night of the Princess Diana awards and no-one thinks its attention seeking? The awards are every two years

For me it just goes to show that the unveiling of the site was premature.

Quite why they chose to do it when they did is still open for debate.

They are, of course, completely fluid as to when they poke their heads up. Not held to schedules, tours, meetings with Heads of State, etc.

But the interest will wane unless there is a run on the above commodity.

Well, I did, hence starting this thread 😅

But as PPs say, the fact that the Instagram account has done nothing since shows, to me, that they rushed it out to be on that night on purpose.

If it was a properly planned launch, posts would have been appearing since then.

Yes.

It's one thing posting a 'Coming soon' type 'teaser'.

But it's been over a week and still no content on that bland beige website. I predict another 'failure to deliver' project, like with the podcasts and Netflix.

It's all a bit awkward for Meghan now. I know life doesn't stop with cancer but whatever she does now is just literally a sideshow. Not that it wasn't before.

Salemforcuddles · 24/03/2024 17:13

It's a bit of an own goal really, it's not going to to go down well if they launch their range at the moment, would seem a bit insensitive

Noseyoldcow · 24/03/2024 17:13

I'm wondering if they knew about the Princess of Wales and her cancer diagnosis. They'd have been shot down even more than usual for launching the American Riviera stuff now that news is out, so maybe they just jumped the gun to get it out there so they can start flogging stuff on when they're ready. Dunno what bad taste stuff you can flog to do with cancer (candles that smell like chemo?) but I daresay they'll come up with something.

Theunamedcat · 24/03/2024 17:33

"Allegedly" they did not know about the cancer

There are rumbles Harry is coming to the UK true or not I don't know

Wading through tiktok so you don't have too 💩

Freakinfraser · 24/03/2024 17:48

I don’t think they knew they are estranged and completely untrustworthy. You’d have to be off your nut and incredibly stupid to tell them. I’d bet good money and a lot of it, they’d no idea.

Allaboutthegrift · 24/03/2024 17:55

I would hope H coming to the UK would be a nonsense.

Bit late to start showing concern now.

This is quite perceptive & maybe true I think.

Harry has seen himself as the victim and has imo never once considered how his and Meghan’s comments have hurt his family.

It may very slowly be dawning on him & not before time.

I think Harry maybe somewhere believes there is a chance for reconciliation. Time has passed, people move on, they chose their path and they have little relevance now in the UK. They have the life they wanted.

Oh no I would personally go and boo him.

Allaboutthegrift · 24/03/2024 18:25

I think it would be great if they launch it and crack on with the life they say they wanted.

They made their minds up, more or less betrayed his family (him really) and like the half in, half out, he doesn’t get to choose when he comes charging in looking like Lord Frilly Bollocks saving the day.

All the best to them in their new venture and that but buhbye now.
