Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

Are you sure it’s been that long? Because that’s quite an “A-level politics” riposte

That sadly sounds like a primary school playground riposte.

Keep going. Practice makes perfect. ☺️

BemusedAmerican · 17/03/2024 19:22

I'm trying not to envision people at Glastonbury clutching jam jars with spoons sticking out of the top so that they can get energy boosts.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/03/2024 19:23

@MrsFinkelstein I wasn't going to post on this one since there's nothing new, but just wanted to thank you for linking the pieces under "BP put out several statements correcting untrue stories about Meghan, far more than for any other Royal during that time"

It gets so tiresome when folk insist "they never spoke up for Meghan" so it's good to see the list again

Circling back to coin corporate speak, the charity visit by Meghan is a very good example of just how people value these things and that they are important.

I’m sure Rousette wouldn’t consider her friend to be a ‘forelock tugger’ but they still saw benefit to being visited by a Royal.

A wise woman once said ‘it’s about the role not the person’ and although I’m sure someone will correct me and say it was ONLY because it was Meghan and they would have vomited if it had been any other working member of the RF, but I think this is a good example of the role doing the service & not the personality within it

MarmaladeMarkle · 17/03/2024 19:48

You know when that Captain of H&M refugee flight dropped to his knees in the aisle to thank her for her service? I’m now wondering if he actually meant her new dinner service?!?

Bloody hell, Kate Moss on the bandwagon too! The market really is ‘jam-packed’

Genuine question - do people really eat this much jam? The only time I would ever eat it is with scones and cream - maybe twice a year? People must be eating a hell of a lot more of it than me to make all these brands worthwhile 🤣

Well jam is nice on a piece of toast but I agree, it’s not good for anyone to eat that much!

But I imagine she’s offering the jam as a loss leader. It’s literally a ‘sweet nod’ to her sugars😁

mardylookingfrump · 17/03/2024 20:10

@Serenster I do! I love jam. I also make it but I can’t understand how it’s a money-spinner as generally my ingredients, energy costs and time make it double the cost of Bonne Maman. Even with foraged/gifted fruit – you need quite a bit so often have to buy more to make a decent quantity. (It’s cheaper to buy Bonne Maman then sell the jars on eBay to recoup some cost; there’s a weird resale value for them.) Obviously there are economies of scale at play, and it’s not being done on a home hob, but it’s not a low-overhead endeavour – and if you are making it more cheaply by doing it on an industrial scale, you lose the artisan-tradwife-farmers-market appeal that presumably Meghan is targeting.

MarmaladeMarkle · 17/03/2024 20:30

As someone said previously, a collab like Mrs Hinch or Stacy Solomon have with Asda and Tesco is the best place for this sort of thing if you want to shift enough of it to make it worthwhile.

Who was it that suggested ‘Primarkle’ because that was inspired!

StartupRepair · 17/03/2024 20:33

It is a bit hard to associate celebrities with jam when the celebrities look as if they have not consumed a gram of sugar for two decades.

Well, yes!

I was listening to The Rest Is Entertainment podcast Oscars special where they said at all the glamourous post-Oscar parties all the expensive catering went largely untouched as so many of the celebrity crowd are on Ozempic and so have no appetite! (Apparently in years gone by, having restricted themselves for weeks in order to fit into red carpet outfits, they would fall on the food at the after-parties, but no more…).

MarmaladeMarkle · 17/03/2024 21:08

Apparently you can’t eat on Ozempic as it goes straight through. I guess sh*ting yourself during the Oscar’s is not ideal.

i know there were nasty rumours about Meghan taking Ozempic to explain the recent weight loss, but I doubt that’s true with all the beige clothing she’s been wearing. You’d probably not want to run the risk!

That’s orlistat isn’t it, not ozempic?

MarmaladeMarkle · 17/03/2024 21:26

oh it could very well be!

Yes, orlistat makes your s**t oily because it prevents the absorbtion of a percentage of the fats in your food so they go through undigested (been on it, never again 😂).
Ozempic has loads of side effects, nausea, vomiting, diaharrea but they get better with time (not been on it but know a couple of diabetics who are).

ShamedBySiri · 17/03/2024 22:29

According to twitter someone mocked up a similar looking webpage to cash in while Meghan has not yet got anything to sell!

How very resourceful 😂
