The royal family

Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

BigFluffyHoodie · 15/03/2024 10:30

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

Ahh, the famous 'I know someone, who knows someone, who knows something'.

I think that is usually called out ,and often ridiculed, on RF threads.

I have spoken about the charity a few times on here, no skin off my nose if you think I'm lying.

Walkingwashingmachine · 17/03/2024 18:07

Roussette · 17/03/2024 17:50

I was particularly writing of this charity after Meghan was called a 'twat' after visiting it

The charity was the only one I knew of and had a connection to, that any royal had visited.. hence my post
If I knew of more, I would comment on it whichever member of the RF visited

I didn't suggest she became a twat "AFTER" visiting this charity. She's always been one as far as I can see. Just stating obvious facts I'm afraid.

You aren’t answering the question asked though. Why is charity work by Meghan valuable and worth commenting on when the RF in general are considered by you to perform no useful function? I’m asking you to support the position that you voluntarily posted.

That is my answer
I have worked with charities for 15 years and if any other Royal had visited the two I was involved in and it had a positive impact I would tell you
I have no idea why I have to keep repeating myself

Racism probly. That's usually the answer to whatever question is asked. Makes no sense to everyone else though obviously.

ChVrches · 17/03/2024 18:20

The value to the charity is it makes the volunteers feel good I would imagine and then it also raises the profile of the charity in the public eye. A Royal visit then will enhance those benefits so it should make no difference who it is?

BigFluffyHoodie · 17/03/2024 18:22

I stopped following my own thread after we got to the "You only hate Meghan becoz racism" post. Whatever anyone posts, however many sides there are, whatever opinions, that one apparently trumps them all.

Well anyway, let's see what a fantastic venture this will be for Meghan. And all us haterz will be tellt.

Right, Roussette, just to clarify - you think any royal visit is beneficial?

Not necessarily. To repeat yet again (yawn)

Sometimes I think Roussette gets more pile-ons here than Meghan and Kate combined, bloody hell

So how can you judge whether she was a twat at the visit or not, if you haven't got any other visit to compare it with?? Honestly, Roussette. You're making it far too easy for us all. Pull your socks up.

Please don't be rude. I haven't been rude to you

All I have said was, I know two people very connected with the charity and they said that they really welcomed her visit and she was great, that leads me to believe she wasn't a 'twat'.

Saying I am making it easy for us all is really a bit much... Five posters desperately trying to catch me out

I'll leave you all to it, it will only descend to worse if I carry on answering all of you

Ok fair enough. You win. You did well.

I know one person that works at One25 the Bristol charity and one who volunteers on the night bus. It is a fantastic charity
I know from them how much they valued her visit so no, she wasn't a 'twat'

I have absolutely no doubt they did. Most charities value visits like these, for the publicity but also to be personally acknowledged for their selfless work.

This is what the RF do day in day out. And it gets minimised to just ‘ribbon cutting’…

ChVrches · 17/03/2024 18:38

I have to agree that the poster Roussette does seem to attract a great deal of attention in this place in my short time here. Maybe it is because she is an ardent poster @mardylookingfrump and therefore that naturally attracts discussion. It's a tricky line to walk. No one technically needs to answer anyone else on here but it does come across as a bit of a dine and dash.

It’s called discussion, what we’re here for no? Or just a series of statements?

I have no idea if you are a national sport or not! But I'm sure you'ld be very good if you were.

MarmaladeMarkle · 17/03/2024 18:40

Those that don’t name change naturally stand out because they are recognisable. It’s not personal

mardylookingfrump · 17/03/2024 18:42

@ChVrches The royals board prompts my frequent name changes more than AIBU: I get drawn in, post a lot, but I don’t want to get “seen” and labelled in the way certain posters here get. I find the pick pick picking at recognised posters a bit much, when ultimately what we all think of the royal circus doesn’t matter much – it’s bread and circuses, posting on Mumsnet isn’t going to change it, and 5-6 posters relentlessly questioning someone like they’re Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight is really weird. Like, is Roussette going to suddenly fling her hands up and say “You got me! Meghan IS a twat, my mistake! Thanks for the relentless hounding, I’ve seen the error of my ways.”

There’s discussion and there’s piling on.

Allaboutthegrift · 17/03/2024 18:43

Like Roussette is going to suddenly fling her hands up and say “You got me! Meghan IS a twat, my mistake!

It would be a start….

It’s not a pile on it’s just no other f**r has been on here for nearly four hours so options are limited (and participation is voluntary).

Oh cool your boots. Roussette is clearly perfectly able to stick to her guns. It's not serious. It's mumsnet.
