They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Not sure how the royals could "keep them". You can't stop someone determined to live off jam and chutney sales. Apparently that was H and Ms plan right from the start and now that dream is about to come true and in front of the whole world. It's pretty damn impressive.

The family is hardly a victim and we both have biases. So who we believe will depend on our biases and I do believe that family threw them under the bus.

I don’t know Meghan Markle, she could be a saint a or gold digger and bully, as she was described in the press, or something in between. My point is that an institution that can accommodate Charles and Andrew can certainly accommodate a gold digger.

And they should have, she would have been an asset and the optics of chasing a black princess was certainly not good. I really don’t care whether RF were personally racist to MM. The fact that they didn’t care and were uncompromising at best, shows me that they are very short sided and not very competent.

By the way, all the Royals are earning money off their titles. Many of minor royals have jobs or had jobs because of their connections. Only H&M are doing it more obviously. Again, H&M are not amazingly talented people, they have a limited time to establish a business for their family. What did the RF think would happen by throwing them to the wolves?

Meghan while not amazingly talented might have established herself in the show biz.

The thing I find particularly morally indefensible is , while at the high point of the BLM furore so guaranteed to do the most damage to people, lighting a touch paper under your family by making false accusations of racism. Accusations made in full knowledge of your grandparents imminent death. Racism accusations which are later denied by your husband as being untrue. Why would the family care about Meghan. Why would they want the sort of person capable of such cruelty to stay. Nice try defending them though. Interesting viewpoint.
