They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

So many posters appear to be pissed off that Harry and Meghan are doing Ok , whilst the RF appears to be unraveling

Meghan has launched a new business and good for her. Why tear that down? Some of us are actually interested in it and like her asthetic and we would purchase from her websit

I find this deeply pathetic. She is a two bit actress, not a very good one, whose only qualification in life is that she managed to marry a wealthy idiot from a family with status.

The ONLY reason people would even look at her website is because she has this fame which itself is only because of a man she married.

What really annoys me about this, is that there will be literally thousands if not more, women who are qualified in interior design, trained as designers, chefs, experienced jam and marmalade makers who are struggling to get their business turning a profit - not because it is no good but because they will never get the (wholly unearned) exposure she has.

Anyone who supports the sick society and culture of non-achieving celebrities being able to flog any old tat just because of their name really should be ashamed of themselves and should look to use their money buying real quality items because of their quality not because it has the name of someone famous slapped on it.

Yes, you're quite right. If she can make a go of it, that's great.

But I think she'll find, just like being a creator, podcaster or producer, it's harder than it looks.

Gwyneth, for instance, has a lot of earned money, comes from money, and is married to a very successful producer, having divorced one of the most successful rock musicians on the planet. Goop doesn't actually need to make money. I believe that statements of Goop's worth are wildly overestimated.

Martha Stewart took years of professional effort and ability to build up her brand. Mind you, she then went to prison for not paying her taxes...

On the back of her celebrity, Blake Lively started Preserve, a wholesome website/lifestyle portal shop that seems similar to what Meghan is planning. And it tanked. She closed it a few months later.

You need a lot more than a winning smile and some beige Montecito accessories to make a go of this sort of thing.

I will be interested to see her Netflix cooking show, if reports of that are accurate. Maybe she does need to let the public see her when she's not complaining on screen about the royal family.

@BigFluffyHoodie I agree. I don't think they've yet got to the point of realizing that a royal title and sob stories only gets you so far. Visionary strategies and really hard graft hasn't been their forte as yet. The US is full of celebrities and one can get their 15 minutes of fame, but have to work really, really hard to stay there.

@SecretSoul I think that was a very fair and accurate assessment of how many people feel about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. People are just fed up of the constant whining I think from Harry who is well off in many ways but never seems happy with his lot. People like that can be miserable to live with.

To my mind, Meghan should do something more akin to Reece Witherspoon - clothes.
