Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter

They knew that announcing Meghan's new venture would be big news. So they dropped it 45 minutes before William was due to speak yesterday evening. At an awards ceremony dedicated to harry and William's mother's memory.

But that wasn't good enough. Oh no. They then announced the winner of their own awards. While the Diana awards were still going on and Prince William was handing out prizes.

Is there no level this petty, bitter couple won't sink to?!

Well they weren’t chased out as they wanted half in half out. Told no then flounced.

But tbh I don’t blame them for coordinating their ventures with RF things. They want maximum publicity so hook up to RF announcements - I’d do the same as them if I wanted to launch stuff.

Yes, it was most definately a flounce.

Coordinating ventures is all well and good and maybe I would do it too in their position. However, if you are going to do that you have to have a thick skin because the optics are not good and you will be pulled up on it, a lot, especially when in some instances it’s your own words that keep coming back to bite you.

They are very thin skinned.

Who would have ever thought, a Royal hanging out with a Kardashian hanger on.. Looks like Harry's late attendance at the Princess Diana Awards was because his ski trip was his priority and didn't care about keeping people waiting for him to show up.

What’s the 411?

Withdrawn at poster's request

but father Logan is a tyrant man who always gets his own way. He loves his kids but was mostly absent (literally out of the picture) during their childhoods. Is that Charles? Roman wonders off in the end, Kendal just spins in circles, Tom (married in just like Kate) wins. But which one is William - Kendal or Shiv (both lost too)?

No, I think the story fits the Murdoch clan much better.

I'm stunned at how mean people are being

Meghan has launched a new business and good for her. Why tear that down? Some of us are actually interested in it and like her asthetic and we would purchase from her website.

Why are you stunned? You know why people are being mean. She's using her title to make money (as per usual) which irritates people. If she hadn't covered her website in Royal branding she wouldn't have opened herself up to criticism. If she's genuinely so good, she should have the confidence in her own skills rather than rely on the Royal family branding. People would respect her (perhaps...)

Wickedlywearynamechange · 16/03/2024 09:51

@Hillcrest2022 You can’t be on the RF threads very often. For some posters it’s sport to be mean about Harry and Meghan regularly and repetitively. Some focus specifically on Meghan. They get serotonin hits out of doing so, I suspect. So they keep on doing it.

Wickedlywearynamechange · 16/03/2024 09:55

@Walkingwashingmachine it’s her title. Meghan gets to decide what she does with it. Just like so many other titled and untitled (but connected) royals before her. I wish her every success she strives for.

I don't think anyone is disputing their right to do what they do. However there are differences between what is strictly legal, and morals, ethics, social norms, and expectations. These are subjective.

And you clearly are unable to read. Have you seen the threads being started on here lately or is it just Meghans jam making you take offence to?
As for serotonin hit from laughing, you bet! But so much better than a hit from class A drug taking eh Harry?

Wickedlywearynamechange · 16/03/2024 11:18

If we are talking about morals, ethics, social norms and expectations in regard to Royal Family members keeping their titles, then, in my opinion, not too many RF members would remain titled. Just my subjective opinion.

Wickedlywearynamechange · 16/03/2024 11:25

“And you clearly are unable to read”

😂😂

Meghan has been being attacked on here since 2017. I had a good look back over past threads. ‘Lately’ is an aberration. I can read quite well thank you. This thread title is ‘Harry and Meghan are so petty and bitter’. So.

And mumsnet guidelines do not allow for personal insults. Perhaps you should take a look.

BTW - I have not said anything about Kate’s illness at all. Other than to wish her well. I like both Meghan and Kate, and I loathe the Kate vs Meghan bullshit on here:

I accidentally clicked on the oldest page on the forum. 2011. Was surprised when scrolling through the posts how awful people were to Catherine back then, also.

I am sure someone will come along and say it was not that bad.

It has been horrible at times for both women.

EasternEcho · 16/03/2024 11:30

@Wickedlywearynamechange It very well could be that none of them do. But my response was to the comment that Meghan's title is hers to do as she pleases. While this may not be technically correct, even if we assume it is right, the legal right to do something sets out the absolute minimum standards. Last I looked this thread was about Harry and Meghan's latest endeavours. I try to stick to the subect. If you want to expand it to include the whole RF, that's your perogative, but that's not exactly what "we are talking about".

Wickedlywearynamechange · 16/03/2024 11:31

I agree Alice Olive. Both women have been targeted on here.

Well I suppose she can use her title to promote jam. But the Queen asked her not to live off it for good reason. Meghan's title given to her by the Queen on the basis she would work for the Crown, represents the Crown. Meghan uses the benefits of the Crown for her own personal financial gain. It's not "hers" to use in that way. That's why the Queen was right. And that's why Meghan is wrong.

baileybrosbuildingandloan · 16/03/2024 11:49

And you know this because you are a close personal friend?

Or have read prejudiced articles in the Press?

Exactly what they did to his Mother.

This is true, the first thread is about her engagement. Posters were... vile. Not as vile as they are about Kate's sick leave though.

Did the Queen ask Meghan not to ‘live off’ her title? Did the Queen ask Sarah Ferguson not to live off her title? I wonder?

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York

Indeed ..that is her 70th book using her title

My two favourites are "Dieting with The Duchess" and "Dining with The Duchess"

I wish I were joking, I'm not!

Edited

@Roussette Rousette. I knew Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York promoted Weight Watchers at one time but did not know about Dining/Dieting with the Duchess books. 😂😂

Oh edited to say, I remember seeing a video of her in a period costume. Red hair tumbling down her back. Breathlessly promoting a romance novel about a ‘fiesta redhead’ or something, and at the end Sarah jumped on her trusty steed and rode off across the lawns of what looked like her backyard at Windsor. Whoops, Andrews backyard.

MrsFinkelstein · 16/03/2024 12:11

The launch did seem a bit rushed, with the trademarks only recently applied for and not even granted. A Thursday evening is a weird time to launch, but I know nothing about PR/product launches so maybe it's actually the best time to launch!

I hope it is a success, but IMO they need to be posting about products ASAP otherwise people get bored. They should be available to view at least within a fortnight.

They've gotten a lot of attention, but it's not gone "viral" as yet, and I have to think there must be some clenched buttocks and worried brows at the fact it's not reached 500k followers after 2 days. They must have been hoping for at least 1M by now.

And yes, 466k is huge, but Sussex Royal got 1M within 5hrs of launch, a record only broken by Jennifer Aniston when she launched her IG shortly after (she now has 45.3M).
