Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

The princess arrived by ambulance and has undergone an emergency surgery as a result all her appearances have been cancelled at short notice

Why on earth would they say that if it wasn’t what happened?

Honest to God reading these threads sometimes is like Alice in fucking Wonderland

Technically the King is Kate’s ‘employer’ - although what she and the other members of the royal family have are positions not jobs.

We pay for the running of our constitutional monarchy - the King then chooses how he wants to manage the constitutional duties of State, in consultation with the government, and how to manage service to the country - under the late Queen that was by having a team made up of members of the royal family doing charity work and projects in service to needs of the country.

So presumably the King knows what’s wrong with Kate and has approved her ‘leave’.

@1DoesNotSimplyWalkIntoMordor anyone can do whatever they like, say whatever they like and keep something confidential or not. Just so long as I am not paying them for that priviledge. Since I and many others are paying for their lifestyle and their employment, we do get to say this I am afraid. If she wants to be treated like every other citizen, come off the payroll and go back to being an ordinary citizen.

Do you also believe that you are entitled to know the private and confidential medical information of our politicians, health care workers, teachers and any other public sector worker just because we pay for them through our taxes? Or is that entitlement only reserved for the Royal Family?

As a taxpayer I have no right to know anyone else's Private and Confidential information

Even if this creative writing fantasy did happen, you’d have to be a fairly shit press office – worse even than KP has been revealed to be! – to think phrasing it that way would create any privacy or recuperation time for Kate. Tabloids would have been straight round the hospital and planning to use their “so sue us, we made more on the story than we’ll have to pay” fund to get a photo or information, with that kind of stoking-the-flames language. The story would have been nuts from the go, whereas in reality it didn’t truly kick off until Wills’s strange dropping out of the memorial service.

@1DoesNotSimplyWalkIntoMordor the people in those jobs you quote are hired or elected. they have to write cv's undergo interviews etc. They can also be sacked or made redundant. they do not have a job for life. thats the difference. There is no one else who is publically funded who is guaranteed a job for life from birth, who doesnt ever have an interview, write a cv, apply for the job, get elected etc. I have absolutely no choice but to fund the royals. there is no vote, no application for the job, no fixed term nothing. surely you can see the difference?

Strange that the weekend Kate is able to go out is also the same weekend a new Banksy is uncovered.

mardylookingfrump · 18/03/2024 12:20

What? My point is that it wasn’t emergency surgery else they’d had said “emergency surgery”. No one but a premium moron would think “planned surgery” plus “cancelled engagements” meant anything other than “planned on short notice”. Calling something an emergency that isn’t is fearmongering and hyperbole. Congratulations though on making your living being weird about standard medical terminology on Mumsnet!

It's not fear mongering to tell the truth. Fear mongering is telling people you need 3-6 months recovery from surgery and that you are far too unwell to appear for a photo to the point of merging and editing photos and lying about taking said photos recently. Why go through all that?
People are right to be scared for Kate.
Then a couple of days later you are suddenly well enough to go to your kids' school on a weekend and pass by the local farm shop . . . really?
They are trolling you!

It could be something uber private like a miscarriage, and then everyone will feel awful for invading her privacy. 😔

Don't kid yourself, Anon. There are very nasty people on these threads who wouldn't feel awful about any of the spiteful, malicious things they have said or implied in their cunning little sideswipes. They enjoy their own malignancy. They think their unkindness is clever.

Sorry, This conspiracy business has fried my brain.

There is another thread where it's been said that Charles was dead and there will be no elections.

I think I need a break from MN for my own sanity.

MaturingCheeseball · 18/03/2024 13:44

@upinaballoon - quite. I’m depressed that these people walk among us.

I just don’t get this “right” to see medical records. To say that other people are employed/elected, well, do we have the right to see the records of the un employed? Prisoners? State pensioners? Children?

GoldOtter · 18/03/2024 13:45

Of course, didn't William himself just tell us that she "is the arty one"? Not so subliminal messaging 😉

No, there is no difference.

Why do you think that Private and Confidential medical information should not apply to the Royal Family?

Catherine wasn't born into the royal family. She doesn't necessarily have a job for life.

But on the basis of your post, you believe that we should have the right to their private and confidential medical information. Does that include the private and confidential medical information of their children? Do you think that should be made public?

Right, what I do for a living is uphold standards of accuracy so let’s do this point by point:

telling people you need 3-6 months recovery from surgery
KP issued the statement about surgery in mid January and suggested she’d be back to duties after Easter, which this year is at the end of March. 11 weeks all told, if she shows up directly after Easter; just shy of 3 months and certainly not 6

and [telling people] that you are far too unwell to appear for a photo
They have never said any such thing, have you got a source for this claim?

to the point of merging and editing photos
They’ve always done this for group shots, they just got caught this time. We don’t know why it was done.

lying about taking said photos recently.
We really don’t know that that’s the case. We know the photo was edited, is probably a composite of shots, but we don’t know from when. It’s certainly not the Vogue cover replacing Kate’s face or other outlandish theories.

People are right to be scared for Kate.
Why are they?

Then a couple of days later you are suddenly well enough to go to your kids' school on a weekend and pass by the local farm shop . . . really?
They are trolling you!
A couple of days later than what? It’s now nine weeks after her surgery and a couple of weeks before her expected return, it makes sense that she might be up and about.

If you mean a couple of days after editing a photo, again, we have no idea why that photo was edited nor any evidence to suggest it was done to hide Kate’s health. You’re leaping from A to C here. Also, if the Mother’s Day photo was taken “earlier in the week [than mothers day]”, and Mother’s Day was a week prior to the alleged farm shopping, then it’s not a couple of days later: it’s a week and a half. A lot changes in a week and a half!

Finally, there’s no confirmation about this farm shop sighting. A randomer told The Sun, did they? That bastion of news standards and accurate reporting.

Agree with all of this!

I agree too with the proviso that I think that William is genuinely good with kids, he seems more relaxed in those situations as we saw on St David’s Day.

I’d rather we had no RF and I think he’s idle in general, but credit where credit’s due.

MaturingCheeseball · 18/03/2024 14:43

@mardylookingfrump - it’s pointless challenging these posters. This one’s run off with fingers in their ears. They (or someone remarkably similar) will be back later still saying it’s their right to see Kate’s medical records or that there’s a news blackout about Buckingham Palace blowing up and only TikTok knows about it.
