Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

But she could at least have sent a brief video message regarding her St Patrick's duties. Besides the press are reporting that

"Kate, 42, reportedly appeared “happy” and “well” as she and the Prince of Wales visited Windsor Farm Shop, which is situated on the Royal Estate and is around a mile from Adelaide Cottage.

She then spent Sunday morning watching her young children playing sports"

So it wasn't just a brief jaunt to the shops, she then spent that morning watching the kids whilst out and about. A brief 1 minute video clip of her well wishes would have gone MILES to restoring public good favour at this point.

I still don't believe not a single person got a photo of her either... Not even a burry mobile phone snap. Given the furore about her not being seen it's inconceivable that someone wouldn't have taken a sneaky snap and posted it on social media.

At best this is an example of her doing the barest minimum of fuck all regarding royal duties with a massive PR misstep again. At worst it's more lies from "sources".

Note that all the sources in the article are unnamed. Not one person who could be tracked down to verify the supposed shopping trip.

A video would be work. They're clearly holding firm on her not being able to work, and fair play.

Also, she clearly does not want to show her face right now. And there's a conversation to be had about that, about the pressure on women in the public eye, and how fucking sad it is. But it's her face and if she doesn't want to show it then that's her call. Especially while she's off sick.

Are the people who think that the only work the RF does is the stuff we can actually see, out on an engagement the same people who think that teachers only work from 9 to 3.30 with long holidays doing nothing?

Marked lack of coherent thinking there.

WeAreWarriorsWeAreWarriors · 18/03/2024 10:05

@MrsWidgerysLodger completely agree. This is a huge PR mistake in my view and just makes me question why she can't do some work with adjustments more.

mardylookingfrump · 18/03/2024 10:07

WeAreWarriorsWeAreWarriors · 18/03/2024 10:02

Why can't she work via zoom? Just a short meeting to support a favourite charity? She could have her pyjama bottoms on and no one would know. And as if she doesn't get dressed up to go the shop knowing there is every chance there will be a photo.

Because she’s signed off sick until at least after Easter? “She is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

Look, I want my £2 back/for it to be spent on something more worthwhile than funding this pair’s lazy lifestyle, but I also support people’s right to take proper sick leave.

WeAreWarriorsWeAreWarriors · 18/03/2024 10:09

@ColleenDonaghy but we saw her face in the photo? And not wanting to work because of concerns about how she looks doesn't cut it. She's on our payroll and has an obligation to the charities and organisations she supports.

ColleenDonaghy · 18/03/2024 10:13

Which photo? The one in the car with her mother where her face looked (still amazing but) a little different, possibly due to steroids? Or the one on mother's day that was killed by all the reputable photo agencies because it was edited to such an extent they couldn't stand over it?

Not wanting to work because you don't like how you look? Not going to cut it. Not wanting to work because your face has changed and it's affecting your mental health? A different thing entirely. Not wanting to appear by video at a high profile work event when you're on sick leave because you look a little rough and you aren't well anyway? Very very normal and probably how most of us would feel.

She's off sick.

Her job shouldn't exist, but it does, and at present she isn't well enough to do it.

Radyward · 18/03/2024 10:14

The only thing ill believe anymore is a video or them on the news filmed at an event/ something. Photos dont cut it now . What ! Out shopping and unable to do the irish guards yesterday / even a video message. For anyone having a go. Yes people who are ofd suck do go to tesco but seriously they are public servants. Did you see PW is going to take time off when she comes back. Like time off from what . Id say the fury over H and M heading off into the monte cito sunset was the realisation that K and W would have to step up more. K and W are just so entitled. That was a v bad PR move today . She should have first been seen at the easter cermonies. Photos i just no longer believe.

Radyward · 18/03/2024 10:16

Duh typo off sick obvs!! . It really is two fingers to the public.

I don’t think they’d had been a photo face sighting yet? The Mother’s Day one seems to have been deemed a doctored affair so that doesn’t count, and this sighting has not yet generated a photo.

FWIW I’m sure her face will look perfectly normal to the casual observer. You can feel rough and notice yourself being a few shades of pale when others won’t necessarily. Tap a bit of concealer on the dark eye rings. I’m sure she’ll look perfectly presentable.

No I'm sure that there's plenty of duties we don't see.

Unfortunately for them Catherine and William are somewhat known for being.. workshy for want of a better phrase.

In terms of Royal engagements Edward, Sophie and even the Duke of Gloucester have done more work. Not a good look for a prominent Royal and heir to the throne. They have a privileged and pretty pampered lifestyle funded by the British public and I don't think it's unreasonable for them to be asked to actually work for it vs doing the bare minimum.

@SilkFloss is your rather rude post aimed at me ? I did indeed admit to lack of knowledge about 'work' carried out by RF.
I can imagine that members need to read notes prepared by others so that they are informed about the background of any organizations etc that they visit. I can also think that they have to agree responses to some correspondence.
Beyond that I've no idea , I'm sure there must be more but personally I don't know what. Happy to learn.

WeAreWarriorsWeAreWarriors · 18/03/2024 10:46

But my point is that they can't have it all ways. They can't release a photo of her looking the absolute picture of health and gorgeousness, say she's able to watch her kids play sport and still say she's not able to do a zoom call or a video message. They are either lying about something or she is skiving.

FWIW if she is more ill than previously disclosed, then I feel bad for her obviously but they need to stop with the crap PR and release a statement so people lay off. It is unbelievable how badly this is being handled.

Quite. It speaks volumes that William is happy to let his much older relatives do far more than he does.

When she is off sick she has no obligation to anyone. That is exactly the same as anyone else in this country.

Even if Catherine was rushed to hospital in an ambulance it doesn't mean (and it hasn't been reported) that surgery was performed immediately.

If she went to hospital and surgery took place a day, 2 days, 3 days or a week later then it will have been planned surgery.

It most certainly doesn't mean that we have been lied to.

A relative of mine was blue lighted to hospital, was in resus for hours, was transferred to another hospital where surgery was planned for the following day. It was an emergency but it was still planned surgery.

Given what I do for a living I am sure I am right.

Is what you do for a living anything to do with spreading misinformation on social media? It’s just that the history of this quote is to do with the totally batshit thing about the ambulance on 28 December which came from a few seconds clip posted on an anonymous account on X, has absolutely no basis in fact and actually doesn’t make any sense.

WeAreWarriorsWeAreWarriors · 18/03/2024 11:00

That's not true. When I'm off sick I have to justify to my employer why I can't work with a sick note. I can't just say I'm not coming for 3 months. After a few months I stop getting paid. Eventually I'd lose my job. If work had reason to believe I was fit there would be questions to answer. Judging by the photo released by them, and the fact that she is able to watch her kids play sport, I would like to know why she can't do some small bits of online work? In my view, it's because something else is going on or because she is, as widely suggested, workshy.

No I don't know Kate's circumstances or what operation she had. I can deduct from the information available that It was not a planned procedure! If I wanted to go further I could ask around for information in my community but it's pointless, it's pretty obvious.

Everything says it isn't. If the ambulance shown is true + the events canceled after - just that alone without knowing too much tells you it was not a planned procedure. Kate may have had an emergency surgery in the private sector where regular people like you and I can work.
The palace lied just like they did with the picture, when it was taken, who took it, who edited it and who sent instagram apology.

And that sick note is between you and HR. Your colleague at the next desk has no right to that info, even if you post photos of yourself at a rave on FB.

She's off sick. She hasn't even been off that long in the context of surgery.

But there's no evidence of the ambulance.

The surgery was clearly planned at short notice given the cancelled engagements, that doesn't mean it wasn't planned. Which you surely understand, what with your professional knowledge.
