K & W are going to have to step up duties as there are no longer enough Royals to spread it out. And if KC dies earlier than expected thats a lot more pressure on her and William.
Exactly! Honestly, they were very lucky in their first 10 years of marriage. They had some of the lowest engagement numbers. They did get criticise (Workshy Will, Duchess Doolittle) but there was a lot more working members at the time to cover (Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Harry, Andrew, the Gloucesters, the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra)
Harry (and Meghan) are now gone, the Duke of Kent retired, Andrew (we know), QEII and PP are dead.
The Duke of Gloucester is turning 80 in a few months. He and his wife still carry out a lot of engagements but I wouldn't be surprised if they retire soon
God gorbid something happens to Charles, I don't see Camilla continuing as a working royal.
That'll leave Kate, William, Edward and Sophie.
The problem with William is he seems to have an entire new vision for the monarchy. He clearly wants to focus on his big projects like Earthshot and Homewards but he doesn't seem to care those engagements ribbon cutting engagements where he has to go out, meet people, shake people's hand.
His dad balances it extremely well. He and Anne have been the two most hardworking members of the family for decades with the highest number of engagements and with everything that he's doing with the Prince's Trust.
If he wants the monarchy to survive, William needs to realise that he needs to be seen to be believed.
Earthshot and Homewards are good projects but I'm sure it means a lot for royalists to have that one on one moment with royals where they shake their hands and have little conversations with them
