Do not read or comment if you aren't interested!

Shamefully starting a new Kate related thread for the fellow people like me who are so far down the rabbit hole they need to talk it out with fellow tin foil hat wearers 🤙
I want to know.. what do you think?
Where is she?
The wild theories?
Will she make the Easter Day service?
What the hell is going on over at KP?

I think she's seriously ill and will be stepping back soon.

I've got popcorn and I've got alllllll night, let's dissect.

I'm willing to believe that William would have an affair (or affairs), I'm willing to believe that Kate would divorce him. What I am not willing to believe is the way Kensington Palace would deal with all this is by announcing that Kate is having abdominal surgery and won't be seen for a few weeks. That would be just insane. I think she is just ill, doesn't want to be seen until she feels and looks better, and that we've become far too used to celebrities who take selfies from their hospital beds or live-tweet their visit to A&E.

Oh thank you so much🙏Just when I was feeling like there was no sense left in the world .

@Severalwhippets especially with today's revelations that senior staff haven't seen her at all & didn't even know she was having surgery even though BP said the surgery was planned 🤔

This is Kate's personal assistant leaving the hospital. Her staff clearly knew she had surgery.

Why are the American media trying to gaslight people with their lies?

… of that if she were in a coma and they were covering that up by releasing a photo of her sitting smiling they wouldn’t have made absolutely sure there were no clumsy edits.

She just didn’t want to look ming. Does she normally look awful? No. Why might she? Oh well… something like serious surgery or illness I guess.

JaneAustensHeroine · 15/03/2024 21:07

My wild and spurious guess is that:

Palace wanted W&K to increase royal duties (especially as KC is ill). They know it’s time for them to step up.

K not keen on this. Wants duties to stay as they are (limited).

K becomes ‘ill’. Illness seen as a good reason for K’s duties to reduce.

Back on Easter Sunday for Church followed by the Easter hols to be spent with children. A few nice family pics in Norfolk or wherever enjoying the Spring weather and Charlotte’s birthday in early May. Then comes announcement that on medical advice K will be keeping public engagements to a manageable level.

We have got used to seeing W on his own and that was intended.

Where RH fits into this who knows but if there is any truth to the rumours then that would be enough to contribute to K’s ill health or desire to restrict engagements.

If I were K and if W is having a long-term affair then there is no bloody way I’d be standing next to him smiling in public every day. I think she’s negotiating a less stressful role for herself and an ‘illness’ provides the transition time for everyone to adjust their expectations.

The very obvious hole in this theory is that Kate and William are barely doing anything as it is…. and haven’t for years…..

I totally agree. But the time has come for her to do more. The children are at school, KC is ill. There are no more excuses. Then comes illness…

William jumped on the sickness bandwagon.

Even though there is nothing wrong with him. Completely empty diary.

For sure. He’s had to ‘help out at home’ (like we are meant to believe that!)

He can’t keep going with that one though surely. I mean K taking a back seat is one thing (she never really launched herself into the role anyway) but W has to step up. Or step off.

So you’re saying she’s faking her illness?

onestepfromgrace · 15/03/2024 21:35

I think Kate has been under a lot of stress. The fall out with Meghan and Harry, the Queens illness and death and now the Kings illness is bound to be having an impact. K & W are going to have to step up duties as there are no longer enough Royals to spread it out. And if KC dies earlier than expected thats a lot more pressure on her and William. I think a worsening eating disorder has made her very ill and recovery is expected to be a long process and that is why she is out of the public eye.

JaneAustensHeroine · 15/03/2024 21:36

LadyMuckonpancakes · 15/03/2024 21:25

But he doesn’t he’s been doing quite a few things lately.

The Palace are breaking us in to getting used to seeing him on his own…. And on a personal level he saw what happened to his mother and so is hardly going to crack the whip by insisting K steps up (especially if he has had an affair).

I think this whole thing is completely contrived (with a few ridiculous PR errors thrown in for good measure).

Bottom line is neither of them want to do the amount of work done by Queen Elizabeth so they are starting to adjust everyone’s expectations now.

TheNinny · 15/03/2024 21:43

I think the most likely scenario could be the press has pushed for details about Kate’s illness and gotten push back from KP/William and so they’ve published RH stories as a reminder that they can change the narrative and to try and coerce them to play ball. The edited picture is a just a typical royal PR blunder along the way and icing on the cake for the media.

Though I think Kate finding out about his love child with RH, then taking a revenge lover who William subsequently murdered (TK) then framed for suicide, causing Kate to have a nervous breakdown and have to be hidden from the public while they pressure her toe the line despite her refusal….makes a much more compelling read…. 😬

There is a big part of me that believes this too. A new KP drive. The public backlash will blow brexit into the long grass. We can’t have patients dying in crumbling hospitals whilst paying £86 million a year for a royal family refusing to pull their weight and insisting on having 6/8 months off. It’s just not going to happen.

I sadly agree with you. At times she has looked very thin (even for someone who is naturally very slim anyway). The long term effects of that can take their toll. I say this as someone who has a close relative with a long-term eating disorder who lives with various physical health issues as a result. They hold down a job but have had to go part-time.

I don’t support the RF. Never have. But if W has had an affair then I am furious on K’s behalf as I think she has a strong moral compass and this would be very distressing for her. I genuinely hope the rumours are not true.

Quizine · 15/03/2024 21:46

William cutting ribbons on his own? Giving speeches? I'm sorry to say it but that man has zero charisma and (to me) a rictus grin, nothing there in his smile. Zero. Kate was the reason people turned out to see him (her). He knows this I think.

Missingprincess · 15/03/2024 12:45

Can I just add that Rose Chumley has been at the centre of speculation for years but she has never once been papped! The only photos we see are from official parties.

The fact Rose is the rumoured mistress of the future queen, every paparazzi knows who she is. Photos would be very valuable especially since Christmas but we have never seen them. Someone is protecting her for sure while poor Kate gets fed to the hounds.

Well that’s a new take on the situation @Missingprincess , I can safely say I’ve heard it all now.

It’s unthinkable isn’t it? I’m not sure how much insight he has though. He’s so protected in his royal bubble and likely thinks that he will be taken more seriously on his own.

This is where I miss Harry. The photo of him with the dog in the crowd melted my heart. He has a warmth that W doesn’t have.

Exactly! Honestly, they were very lucky in their first 10 years of marriage. They had some of the lowest engagement numbers. They did get criticise (Workshy Will, Duchess Doolittle) but there was a lot more working members at the time to cover (Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Harry, Andrew, the Gloucesters, the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra)

Harry (and Meghan) are now gone, the Duke of Kent retired, Andrew (we know), QEII and PP are dead.

The Duke of Gloucester is turning 80 in a few months. He and his wife still carry out a lot of engagements but I wouldn't be surprised if they retire soon

God gorbid something happens to Charles, I don't see Camilla continuing as a working royal.

That'll leave Kate, William, Edward and Sophie.

The problem with William is he seems to have an entire new vision for the monarchy. He clearly wants to focus on his big projects like Earthshot and Homewards but he doesn't seem to care those engagements ribbon cutting engagements where he has to go out, meet people, shake people's hand.

His dad balances it extremely well. He and Anne have been the two most hardworking members of the family for decades with the highest number of engagements and with everything that he's doing with the Prince's Trust.

If he wants the monarchy to survive, William needs to realise that he needs to be seen to be believed.
Earthshot and Homewards are good projects but I'm sure it means a lot for royalists to have that one on one moment with royals where they shake their hands and have little conversations with them

wordler · 15/03/2024 22:09

I think William does 1-1 compassion very well - especially talking with bereaved kids.

And he was surprisingly good at presenting the first set of Earthshot documentaries. And that walking podcast episode he did for Apple was again surprisingly good.

If he decides not to do the Kinging stuff he’d not do too badly in radio or documentary making.

KP. And there's no inconsistency there. William tells them she needs/needed surgery at short notice, most staff not to be told the details.

The more staff that know the more likely someone is likely to tittle tattle.
Not everyone wants to shout it from the roof tops that they are ill. Not everyone has a hypochondria TicTok account where they share every minute detail of their terminal ingrowing toenail.
I can’t believe grown women have no sympathy or respect for another’s privacy. Shame on you.
