Spanish press reporting Kate was extremely ill

I don’t know how credible this is because I saw it on Twitter…

But apparently the media in Spain have reported that Catherine’s surgery was not actually planned, did not go smoothly and she was actually very sick/possibly in a coma for a period of time. And there has been a press blackout in the UK.

Could there be any truth in this? I’m struggling to see WHY something like that would be ‘hidden’ anyway 🤔

FWIW I was in Spain when Diana died and the local news was reporting she'd been shot, so on that basis I wouldn't hold much store in this. Tbh I take pretty much everything I read in the press with a hefty pinch of salt

Her face is not from the Vogue pic. It's a different angle, different light, different shadows, different everything. She's one of the most photographed people in the world so inevitably she's going to look similar in some pics but that is not the Vogue shot.

What is wonderful is how our medical staff take confidentiality so seriously. I'll bet sleazes in the media have offered bribes to staff to tell all anonymously for a big fat cheque.

How on earth would the children cope with going to school every day were that true? Can you imagine Louis managing to keep quiet if his mother was seriously ill?

Leaving aside her personal staff it's not even as if it's just the surgeon who'd be aware. Theatre staff, admin, PAs and god knows who else will all probably have been approached, and how encouraging that they've all kept schtum

Now they wouldn't - they'd be laying into her exponentially harsher

Yet here you are starting a thread about an apparent unknown rumour that was around and commented on by the Palace and the MSM about a month ago (whether you believe them or not)

She's not dead, because she's been pictured in the car twice in the last week...

How is it unlikely?

This is what has happened - and it's a combo of several elements:

1. Domestic abuse incident.
2. Mental health being fragile.
3. Eating disorder.

She had a hemi-colectomy due to Crohn's. Whether it was planned or emergency I don't know. But either way, a big op with a lot to get used to after.

Was it not reported or mentioned before that she is/was active on Mumsnet?

The thing is, although no one appears to have sold a story to the tabloids, there are a lot of very confident seeming posters on here and other chat forums saying they KNOW the surgery for definite as they know someone involved...there's one in particular that I think is true and I won't repeat but if it is true then someone close HAS been loose lipped. I guess one of the rumours has to be true!

I joined in on a chat when someone said they didn't believe someone like Kate would need 12 weeks off, how no one else would be allowed that much time off etc and I was very annoyed at their tone so informed them of a younger, fitter friend's complex abdominal surgery (surgerIES actually) and exactly what it involved and why a lot of people wouldn't want the public to know if it was something like that, only to receive a message from someone saying, "I can't say exactly how I know, but I am very close to this situation and the surgery you've mentioned is the very one she's had" plus some other sympathetic "mewings".

Now of course, that person may be a complete fantasist but I did a bit of digging and there's no reason to discredit them and this sort of disclosure seems out of character. Maybe they wanted to get it off their chest. Maybe they're crazy. Who knows.

But I don't for a second believe every person involved has kept totally quiet.

Medical staff are discreet. I knew a woman who worked in, er, private bottom repair. She said some very famous gentlemen had been patients but she would never divulge names nor even give a clue.
