Because she's had a face lift

My friend has Bell's palsy and the one side of her face has completely collapsed.

The only other pic I'm reminded of is that famous one of Charles and Diana in the car shortly before they separated.

If it's a facelift, why was it so unexpected? Couldn't it be done over the summer, without cancelling big events?

I'm so glad to be an anonymous woman in the street/supermarket/train/bus/car wearing what I want, saying what I want, and eating all the cinnamon buns I want and being allergic to gyms. @thevegetablesoup it's only on Mumsnet that all women look like shit and drag their entrails behind them after childbirth. In real life some do. But loads of women look fine-and would look brilliant with a team of make up artists and hairdressers.

So they dragged the poor woman out so she can be 'seen' and yet she wasn't at the service, she had a 'private appointment' so all of that was to prove she's still alive. William looks furious and she's staring away from him. Something is clearly wrong but it's none of our business!

Let's hope for her sake it's not a face lift, because it'd be noticeable. Otherwise what's the point

I'm not even sure that's William. It reminds me of the time I saw a crowd of tourists in Cambridge chasing an odd looking couple. I wondered why and it was a while before I realised they were supposed to be Posh and Becks lookalikes. Not sure if the tourists thought they were the real deal or realised they were fakes but were still excited.

But yes, Kensington Palace PR machine couldn't have made a worse job of all this if they tried.

facelift - seriously? Why can’t you just get she’s had abdominal surgery and perhaps doesn’t want to stand for too long. Perhaps she had a slipped disc, perhaps she had a hernia, perhaps something more dramatic. But no back to mental health crises, facelift, aliens and lizard shit.

The fact they are trying so hard now - damage control, raises more questions. She should have just stayed in hiding.

And surely a woman of her age wouldn't get a face lift? Botox yes, fillers perhaps, but not a full on face lift

We aren't the princess of wales who has the world desperate to see her. Who smiles out of cars all the time. This is her job. There is no reason to be invisible for 3 months even if you can't work.

With Charles poorly the standard thing would be to ensure a sense of stability. That would include being seen if not actually working.

Just you wait. She'll get a radical new hair cut. We will all hate on it and it will distract from the face.

They didn't go out today because anyone was "demanding" it, they've done it to try damage imitation and done that really badly (again).
