And this is why it’s so weird that for that few seconds when they knew they would be photographed, W chose to be looking at his phone and K chose to be looking at a wall.

Maybe they didn’t know they were going to be photographed? The photographer wasn’t at one of the gates to Windsor Castle, he was on a suburban street in Windsor that happens to be on the way to the M4.

Really? The biggest story of this year -?Kate reappears in public. Far fetched to say they didn’t imagine they might run into a photographer.

naturesform · 13/03/2024 07:20

I don't buy anything about this latest photographer story. Think about it...

He said he didn't know that Kate was going to be in the car. OK, let's take that at face value...so he stood on a road to take a grainy photo of William as he drove past, on his way to the Commonwealth service where he would be photographed in HD for everybody to see?

So what purpose would that grainy photo of William in a car have served? What paper would have been interested in printing it when they would have far better images from later on? It's such a load of rubbish

It’s such a cruel and heartless segment.

However I think if the US entertainment industry are doing sketches on it, then very sadly it must be curtains for the marriage of CW.

She hasn’t looked happy for some time.

But I thought the Rose Hanbury Independent article printed the other day - everyone cited it but no one really noted that it made several references to her husband - was the Chelmondelay’s saying “not my circus, pal”. If Rose is/does get involved with the RF - given her idyllic life just now - she’s stark staring bonkers. I doubt she will.

RoyalDramaLlama · 13/03/2024 07:30

Well, either she turns up with the family at Easter, which is only in 2 week time, or there has to be another update, either on her health or her marriage, so we'll know either way.

The most shocking thing here is that the DM now has a paywall. 🤣🤣🤣
good luck with that

Then should they 'steal' a story from elsewhere (thinking here how often they trawl Mumsnet), then the originator of the story should invoice them!

That a horrid piece. Personally KP need to get a grip. Trust and confidence is being eroded at alarming speed. You know you are in trouble when the Mail turns on the RF. it looks like they are just about sick of the whole circus and are biting back with barbed articles.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 13/03/2024 07:35

I wondered whether she'd had plastic surgery and that's why we can't see her face.

No way, she cancelled engagements at short notice. If she was going to have plastic surgery she would've done it in a prescheduled break in the school holidays or something.

MadameBrigitte · 13/03/2024 07:39

If it turns out Kate has had plastic surgery rather than abdominal surely that would destroy any remaining trust in anything that comes out of the Palace.

Let’s hope there is more to it than that, I can’t think what the public will make of that! After this shit show. Fake photos. Disappearing for months. Tax payer forking out for said surgery in a COL crisis. I would pity their poor judgement.

The Mail have been up their backsides for years, hiding stories, pitting W &C against H &M for clicks, putting Kate on a pedestal as the perfect woman who can do no wrong. They want something in return for that. They are quite happy to regurgitate puff pieces until the cows come home, pretending a normal woman is the second coming, but as soon as they feel they themselves are being taken for fools, they decide enough is enough. If Kate doesn't want to be seen with a puffy face then that's partly on the DM for holding her to such impossibly high standards.

Sparetoes · 13/03/2024 07:47

Surely there's no earthly reason for them to share that car, other than to be seen (and photographed) together?

Even if they did decide, on that day, to save the petrol, they knew they were working damage limitation and they knew there would be photographers. And they both know very well how to give a good photo and are usually very good at it. This one mattered more than most and they didn't do it.

We don't know why, but there is definitely a reason bigger than, they were both lost in thought/distracted.

LittleGlowingOblong · 13/03/2024 07:50

@Severalwhippets well yes, KP need to get a grip.

I think King Charles should be stepping in - the late Queen would have, for sure, and she would have had the authority.

Charles does not have the moral authority. Also, he would have been very emotionally wounded perhaps even humiliated by the furore over his having a mistress, and maybe it’s some kind of vindication / revenge for him to sit back and watch it all play out again.

Certainly Camilla is not particularly on C&W’s side, I would imagine

Agreed. And on all of us to some extent, it doesn't reflect well on society as a whole. It would be understandable though.

This article says there have been pap photos in the US, so she has been out and about?

Also proves the British press do have things on the royals that that don't publish (which most of us already knew).

Kate picture

Can royals move on from Kate photo media storm?

There's intense public interest in the Mother's Day picture. But what are the risks for the royals?

Go and see a financial advisor together.
Ask how you can maximise your wealth over the next ten years and how you can get rid of your debt.
Both be informed and have a solid financial plan which you both respect.

What an unpleasant piece. The worst of that sort of American TV.

Trust and confidence is being eroded at alarming speed. You know you are in trouble when the Mail turns on the RF. it looks like they are just about sick of the whole circus and are biting back with barbed articles

But it’s the press and the online misinformation machine that have created the circus. The DM are just pissed because they’re being deprived of juicy stories about her health which would run and run making them loads of money. Did you miss all the stuff lately about how they operate?
The RF said she was ill and wouldn’t be back before Easter. Posters are on here working night and day to give completely baseless stories legs and it’s worse on other platforms. Trolls, bots and useful idiots are amplifying the narrative to a critical point.
I assume they felt coerced into providing proof that she’s ok, but actually she’s still recovering and not actually ok enough yet to want to be photographed for the mob to pick apart. In line with what they said about not being back until after Easter. Anything else is rumours and clickbait.

My concern is about the public being manipulated but it’s not by the RF.

MadameBrigitte · 13/03/2024 06:15

It would be amazingly simple for W&K to put a stop to all this by just releasing a genuine photo or short video. They either can't or won't, which begs the question why.

I think that unfortunately they're about to split up.

You and others seem incredibly intent on people thinking that. Why would that be?

LoreleiG · 13/03/2024 08:03

Severalwhippets · 12/03/2024 22:15

Quite why he would choose to do that rather than support his poorly wife on her first public outing is a mystery.

So many ‘mysteries’ eh? Mystifying.

Wow, you are quite the authority on Charles and Camilla’s inner thoughts.

The public has been manipulated by the press for years, often at the behest of the Royal Family. The press are meant to hold truth to power. The Royals get away with huge amounts, not held to account in any way by most of the press ( which is their actual job in a democracy. Especially one with as many unelected elements as ours)They will go to town on this but have overwhelmingly sat in silence while the Royals hide money away in offshore tax havens, take money from dead people, get exemptions from environmental legislation, use helicopters every day while preaching to us about the environment, publish whatever guff the press office puts out etc etc etc. William and Kate have had an easy ride for years.

ColleenDonaghy · 13/03/2024 08:11

Intrigued by the Colbert piece, won't have a chance to watch it til later. I know he has no time for the concept of monarchy but he's a pretty decent guy.
