Imagine using the victims of a school shooting for attention and PR. There seem to be no depths to which this pair will not sink

Meghan and Harry sing happy birthday to school shooting victim family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make a surprise visit to Uvalde, Texas, to support the family of Irma Garcia, a teacher killed in the 2022 school shooting.

I’m sure they tried to beg an invite.

MaturingCheeseball · 11/03/2024 09:24

They didn’t even get an invite to the WME party… or maybe they turned it down Grin

Which is why, in my opinion, the RF should stay very distanced from any PR appearances that Prince Harry and Meghan may make in the UK, even ones like Invictus which are so worthy and even with King Charles being head of the military. It may be impossible to stop Prince Harry and Meghan from coming to the UK as part of their causes and PR, but it is possible or them to be deprived of Royal oxygen.

I totally agree. They want to be the King and Queen of the USA, they can't achieve this without being believed to be closely associated with and supported by the Royals.

Suddenly, the spiteful interviews and books don't seem such a good idea now do they...

Just a reminder about Meghan using Uvalde for PR reasons.

I think that the visits to the nephew are an attempt to row back from this behaviour.

pubblehopper · 11/03/2024 10:21

Apparently the nephew, who posted the photos, posts heaps of sexual content on his feed also, things like ‘looking for a F**k ‘ etc. , sounds charming !

Lifebeganat50 · 10/03/2024 07:42

If it was about caring, there would be no photos

Could this not be said about every Royal or MP pre election visit to an orphanage or whatever?

They all do this all the time. I don’t see why Harry and Meghan doing it is worse than any of the other royals?

StickyWickets · 11/03/2024 11:02

I think 'rowing back' is going to be a mantra for this couple over the next few years.

I'm wonder how long it will take before we start hearing/seeing small signs of public support from them towards the family who's reputation they have tried their best to destroy?

Act in haste, repent at leisure!

Lots of humble pie to be eaten I expect.

It will make them look less credible though, with all the rowing back

Others have explained why, repeatedly, previously on this thread tbf

If that’s true, it’s so distasteful.

The perils of relying on free PR from the SS eh. They don’t come across well individually or as a collective. I suppose the lack of credibility, is, arguably, on brand.

MaturingCheeseball · 11/03/2024 11:33

If they are trying to get back in, then a problem is their Supporters. A beast has been unleashed (look at them on these threads). They can’t piss off their core fan base or even acknowledge them really, yet they are damaging any chance of rehabilitation.

It’s a bit like Herbert’s Dune books, when Paul Atreides exploits the Fremen as a resource, but then finds he can’t really control them, and they wipe out most of the universe. Oops.

FloofCloud · 11/03/2024 11:51

Oh dear - the Sussex's / Sussex squad is shortened to SS - they didn't think that through!

😳😱

I'm sure they did. I bet Harry is keen to dress up as a Nazi (again).

Or like the impact of the swivelled eyed loons the ERG faction of the Conservative party - dangerous extreme characters - tail wagging the dog.

When the moderate supporters stand by and let it happen - they are tarnished with the same brush and lose all credibility. You see it here with seasoned posters who are inauthentically claiming a moral crusade.....

So very very true! A very ugly (and quite frankly unhinged) beast is indeed out of the box and that is going to be impossible to control!

How will the beast respond if the Sussex's attempt to get back into bed with RF? How will the Harry supporting republicans respond if he does want to set up a RF franchise over in the US?

So many questions, but if I were H&M right now, I'd be wanting to gag the so called 'Sussex squad' and Omid the slippery loose cannon...

Lets Go Sand GIF by Xbox

Wise words.

They thought they could harness the raw power of the internet, but it’s a capricious multi-dimensional beast, with many Hydra heads, which may even have their own agenda, as well as harbouring the occasional sandworm.

I guess this is what happens if you get into a bed with a self serving mercenary journo like Scoby. His chequered and ‘colourful’ employment history, lack of credentials and ability to see nuance should have rung alarms bells. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the one that’s led them down this path. Using SS to create artificial hype around his atrocious book was his main pr strategy. Coincidence, I think not.

ChalcotSq · 11/03/2024 12:57

How do they square it right now when H&M insist on using their hierarchical royal titles and have made an active choice to use them for their children?

Chupacabara · 11/03/2024 13:07

*not see nuance - typo fail!

I’d love to know too

MaturingCheeseball · 11/03/2024 16:35

They never answer this. I guess it’s acceptable to trumpet “I’m a republican” rather than say “I’m a Meghan and Harry Superfan.” The republicanism is just an excuse to trash Kate. They’ve forgotten all about Andrew.

AliceOlive · 11/03/2024 16:43

Interesting that if H&M are criticized in any capacity by anyone it’s said to be racism, hater and jealousy. But when the same people saying this do it to W&C it’s entirely pure intentions and totally reasonable.

AliceOlive · 11/03/2024 16:50

It’s not something that can be squared.

It’s happening all over about so many topics. 2016 US election so many said the election was stolen. Then when anyone said that in 2020 they were said by the same people to be trying to destroy democracy.

To be fair the RF and their PR team have been doing a fine job on their own of destroying their own reputation lol done a better job of it then H&M have and we'll now we can see they all love to row back on stuff and lie and manipulate and deceive the public.

Equating a photo edit fail and a royal taking accountability and responsibility with grief vulturing, exploitation of grief and tragedy, ok 👍

Whilst Meghan, Harry and Omid think winning over Twitter, where the SS mingle with the incels, Neo nazis, Tate fans and other dregs, means something, it really doesn’t. The RF know Twitter isn’t the forum for serious discussion, it’s edge lord territory. So I really don’t think they care about what is being posted on Twitter - it’s a joke and all the sane people have mocked it, see all the articles where the conspiracy theories are being roundly mocked whilst the press slyly stir the pot enjoying all the Twitter frothing whilst laughing at them. Funnily enough it’s the same conspiracy nuts who love telling others they’re controlled by the media, but can’t see how they’re being goaded by them right now. The conspiracy nuts on Twitter aren’t serious people. There’s a reason they live online rather than in the real world.

Someone mentioned Meghan and Harry weren’t invited to the Oscars, bet they’re gutted, apparently Ryan Gosling was meant to perform the Ken song.

Bit more than a photo edit fail if the media are pulling a picture to uphold their standards. And we'll it's obvious they also lie too.

It's damaged their reputation and that's the point I was making. They did more damage themselves.
