The press has published pics of HRH with her mum in mum Audi on a
"school run." HRH was seated in the front passenger seat.

Wishing HRS Kate a speedy recovery!!

Oliver I agree that the word bullies should be avoided, which is precisely why I avoided it.

I’m ok with the word mob though. I think it fairly describes a group who are really quite vocal on MN threads in what seems to me to often - not always of course - be a quite aggressive way (Disclaimer: not necessarily aimed at me #notavictim). So I stand by mob.

But now I’m going to ignore you 👍

Yet you implied bullying by your ‘girls' school playground’ - so you haven’t really made a point of avoiding it, just tried to provide yourself with plausible deniability.

‘I think it fairly describes a group who are really quite vocal on MN threads’

Mob

a large crowd of people, especially one that is disorderlyand intent on causing trouble or violence.

Yet you stand by a hyperbolic word that alludes to violence, ok 👍

Happy to be ignored by someone that doesn’t seem to be posting sincerely, as conveyed by the many, many contradictions.

I have dipped in and out of this, and you have been piled on constantly and I think there are some unnecessary personal remarks that are meant to be against guidelines. While I don't personally want to speculate about her health and I may not agree with some posts, I think you're as entitled as anyone else on the board to post about them in exactly the same way other members of the royal family are discussed, and you've done well to share your opinions despite the constant meanness towards you for it. It is unfair and unreasonable for one group to dominate any Mumsnet board and make others with differing views unwelcome or to fell unable to contribute.

AliceOlive · 07/03/2024 11:57

I think it’s very easy to become confused between a “mob” and people who happen to have the majority opinion.

Especially if you are attached to a narrative that involves thinking of oneself as a crusader for truth and justice. 🤣

yep, I said the same earlier - it's been a pile-on, and Toffee's words have been changed/misconstrued many times.
Everyone is allowed an opinion, and the laughing emojis and pisstakes are most definitely playground behaviour

If this “group” you refer to is “the society for logical thinking”, please sign me up!

I am impressed with the people pushing back on the theory that you can tell divorce is imminent for a couple based on the facial expression of someone unknown riding in her mother’s car.

I’ve seen nothing mean or against MN talk guidelines here. Admittedly I can only be arsed to read an occasional post to see if the conversation has become any more fact-based. Mostly it reads like something we’d see in the National Enquirer here.

OliverTwisted · 07/03/2024 12:04

Posters have been freely posting crackpot theories, they haven’t been stopped. Other posters are allowed to laugh at certain theories in response.

Seriously?

Laughing emojis, sarcasm and pisstakes are widely widely used across RFF by posters and fans of all stripes.

Lots of posters have speculated @pushtart and peole have agreed, disagreed, or discussed.

@ToffeeTalk , however, has not simply posted a personal opinion as the others have done, she has stated that she has evidence related to the situation. She says she has "heard", certain things and that the evidence is out there if people only took the time to research.
This is what is causing posters to challenge her. She's refused to back up what she's "heard" or read. She's garnering derision because of the way in which she is posting but she claims the reaction is because anyone who disbelieves her shady sources is in thrall to the royal family 🙄Which is simply not true.

I am am of the opinion that any goading is coming from the one posting the wild, cruel theories repeatedly for days now.

It’s all quite unbelievable!

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 12:16

Thank you both Twonewcats and Pushtart; appreciated.

There are no inconsistencies AliceOlive. I'm always prepared to row back in the face of new info or evidence and to my mind the photo of Kate with a swollen face suggests surgery of some sort which is more than merely minor, hence being prepared to say ok well maybe the thing being put around about minor procedure/ cover for separation isn't correct. I don't see that as a lack of logic, rather the employment of logic. That's not to say she isn't sick to death of her husband or life, it's quite separate.

As for crusader for truth and justice I have, in terms, said that I couldn't care less if posters on this thread share my views. I'm no proselytizer. I find the fake spin coming out of the Palace on many fronts to be an affront. But if people want to buy into it - their call. All good.

PinkTonic · 07/03/2024 12:18

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 11:24

Well except for the correction that I understood a minor procedure to have taken place and that that was being used to give Kate time and space, as she wanted out. That’s slightly different from ‘hoax’.

But what informed this ‘understanding’, that’s the point and why your assertions are being challenged. You keep making these outlandish claims and talking about evidence and yet you can’t provide any, certainly not credible. Doggedly repeating crap doesn’t give it credence. You are indeed involved in trying to spread a hoax.

AliceOlive · 07/03/2024 12:18

She’s also handed out quite a bit of derision.

Also, toffee has insisted she’s just fine and not a victim so I’m not sure this defense in multiple fronts is necessary. She’s indicated she’s a big girl, in not so many words.

thats part of this site though, people post about public figures all the time and there was a thread called 'wheres Meghan' after she left the job. So it's not unusual to do. It's very normal, especially here. It's not goading, it's literally a discussion forum norm.

OliverTwisted · 07/03/2024 12:19

Why are people always bringing Meghan into it, give the poor woman a break

AliceOlive · 07/03/2024 12:20

I’d be interest to hear you unpack this:

I find the fake spin coming out of the Palace on many fronts to be an affront.

My mom told me yesterday that a friend, here in America recently told her she felt rage when QE was crowned. They are 83 so you can work out the math. I’d love to understand more about these strong feelings people have toward institutions and individuals in the news.

CorylusAgain · 07/03/2024 12:22

So, @ToffeeTalk , a grainy, long distance photograph of someone's face is enough evidence for you to to determine the severity of that person's s medical history and undermines the shady sources you previously referenced? This illustrates that your opinions really are not rooted in logical thought.

OliverTwisted · 07/03/2024 12:22

‘It's not goading’

but it’s goading that others have disagreed and pushed back and pointed out inconsistencies? Why is there a double standard?

So you get my point, then!

Do you mean things said in Closer or Take a Break? Or some of the absolute batshit rubbish in the ‘foreign press’? Do you really think all the absolute twaddle they write is true?
Also why are there so many people absolutely desperate to believe the Wales’ marriage is on the rocks? It doesn’t suggest those people are very happy themselves .

this is the kind of comment I am talking about, its suggesting the poster isn't happy, its goady, mean and when this kind of comment is directed to one poster or anyone thinking differently to the regulars, it can stop people from contributing. Thats not fair to me and being new here I am not going to bother to report things, but I am going to say I think its unnecessary and potentially crossing a line. If you don't want to see these comments, don't join a thread discussing her being seen. What did you expect people to say?

the thing being put around where?!?

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 12:27

CorylusAgain I completely get your point but it never ends well if one claims to rely on anything anyone in rl has said, coupled with all the general gossip and hints and circumstantial evidence. Although people are really pushing me to say this is about William's reported affair, which it isn't, or certainly isn't entirely. I referred to separation without giving any views as to what any underlying reasons might be. Other people mentioned affair. Then asked for 'evidence'. I haven't mentioned anything about any affair. I think a previous poster (but possibly on another thread) said that she'd heard something about Kate from someone who worked at BP and she got completely piled on. As I say, I'm not going to go through why I believe what I believe but it would certainly be good if those such as AliceOlive would go back and read the tone of any posts before making any claims that I am pushing a particular theory on anyone else. It's very easy to prove that that's not correct. I accept that my take on the rf/ Kate and William isn't popular but I'm fine with that. Maybe I'm too relaxed for those who hold different views.

Ok, so you have insider knowledge. Friend at the pub who both works at the hospital and for the divorce attorney part-time.

We heard it here first, folks!!
