Great news, HRH Princess Kate seen in public today

1000 replies

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 04/03/2024 23:20

The press has published pics of HRH with her mum in mum Audi on a
"school run." HRH was seated in the front passenger seat.

Wishing HRS Kate a speedy recovery!!

Yes kidney transplant is absurd.

I had to stop reading this thread after page 10.

The shyte and the stupid conjecture is off the bloody scale!!

Haha MN is incredibly tame compared to other social media and real life!

Utterly, it’s the most ludicrous suggestion I’ve read and that’s saying something. What does the poster think, she just fancied one? 😂

I haven't engaged with any of that either. It's pathetic.

PurplePansy05 · 06/03/2024 21:46

Good old MN at its finest.

No, I don't think she "fancied one", don't be daft.

There are various issues leading to kidney failure and various methods of dialysis available. Nobody on here knows any details about her health. This is a possibility and it cannot be dismissed based on what we know and saw recently. If you have an image of a bed-bound person hooked to dialysis for hours daily then I think you need to read up a bit more as that's not necessarily the case.

ToffeeTalk · 06/03/2024 21:55

Well it would be an outrage if being able to pay bought a pre-emptive transplant/ access to an organ.

Cleaningupthemess · 06/03/2024 21:59

But that doesn’t mean that in the fullness of time, after she has recovered and is back on royal duties that she won’t do exactly that. She may well do, but at the moment she wants her medical issues and recovery time to be private

I totally agree. She may say something after she recovers or she may not. It’s entirely up to her and should be respected. It would be great if she chose to raise awareness but as with any of us, it’s no one’s business whether she does or doesn’t, It’s not a kidney or any other type of transplant .

I have never heard of Closer or Take a Break and certainly never read or listened to either. I don't read any magazines at all, even when having my hair cut.

I don't either because I have to take my specs off and I can't see a thing,

It's a bugger isn't it?

Edited because I missed the "h" of "have" and looked as common as muck.

Emotionalsupportviper · 06/03/2024 22:14

BrightLightdarklight · 06/03/2024 18:38

This in spades. It makes having surgery or being ill or disabled something to be ashamed of. Like the queen refused to be seen in a wheelchair so wasn’t seen at all. They can have so many expensive or a custom made wheelchair, she’s not going to be in a shit clunky NHS granny wheelchair.

Well, TBH I don't blame her if she doesn't want to be seen out doing a "Cherie-Blair-answering-the-door".

"Wrong message" or not, very few women would be willing to step into the street looking like a rat's nest knowing that the eyes of the world were going to be on her, and that every follicle and pore and extra pound is going to be commented on.

Even I wouldn't and I look like an unkempt terrier desperately in need of a clip most of the time.

Plus if you are going to be in the public eye and part of the history books as a future Queen you know that any awful photos aren’t just a one off - they will follow you around in the media for the next rest of your life.

To be repeated every time you are sick in the future - every time anyone writes an article about image after sickness - anytime anyone writes an article about the condition you disclosed you had - probably in your obituary looking back at your life.

Well said. I really don’t see the issue at all in her wanting private recuperation for whatever surgery she’s recently had. She’s on “display” for the rest of her life and obviously feels she needs this private time before resuming her royal duties.

She upheld the royal tradition of public appearances after the births of all her children mere hours after giving birth each time, even though her predecessors had spent days in hospital following the births of their children.

This is obviously time she needs after some pretty significant surgery and her wishes should be respected.

The enhanced image doesnt have the mole on Kate's face.

Amazing how you’ve answered your own question there, but don’t seem to have realised this.

It wasn't a question!

Find your own info.

I have, it's bollocks.

I have been lurking waiting for that one. 'Do your own research.' 'Educate yourself.' It always comes out at some point when the poster's backed into a corner by people asking for evidence and they either don't have any or what they do have is made up.

And the poster didn't disappoint. All that was missing was 'I'm not your secretary.' Although in fairness to ToffeeTalk, they did keep this going a long time before resorting to tacitly admitting the whole things a load of cobblers they can't back up.

MrsDanvers I can't tell you how little I feel backed into a corner. I'm just declining to play into the hands of a mob who dismiss everything which doesn't conform to their ideal of the rf in general and Kate and William in particular. It's done over and over on these boards and posters frankly get rude. The whole vibe becomes reminiscent of an all girls' school playground. My views are informed by a cumulation of evidence I personally find wholly credible - beyond reasonable doubt tbh, in the lingo. Of course it's up to others to shout at me that I can't use my own judgment and my intellect and powers of deduction are withered, but there you go :) Others can believe whatever they want, based on whatever spin is spun; it's just not an issue.

If you show the evidence/sources, people will listen.

They might not agree (particularly if what's 'all over the foreign press' is the same source-free gibberish that festers over on Twitter), but OTOH if there is well-sourced stuff that's not been in UK press and cannot be found by searches originating in UK, that will really interest people on the thread

You’re the one that had, unfortunately, derided others for posting ‘incessantly’ and insinuated they don’t have lives. Also, calling people bullies just because they refuse to ignore the gaping holes in all your ‘theories’ makes it look like you can’t really defend your position. I’m not from a legal background like you, but even I know that’s the last resort of someone that can’t really back up their argument.

And you find yourself at the hands of a mob, really? Because you’ve been disagreed with? I’d have thought a legal eagle would have been more resilient to pushback and discussion.

I read the thread last night, and yes this poster was being mocked and laughed at by a few people

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 10:42

Oliver my post isn't cast in the manner of being any type of victim whatsoever. I simply said I wasn't going to fall into the commonly deployed trap which I've seen used regularly on these threads as I've lurked. The use of the word victim is incredibly hyperbolic in the situation of a MN post. It's all too serious and yet you claim to be lighthearted.

But you have now done the thing of totally turning posts on their head, re. incessant posting. If you look back you'll see it was a response by myself; I certainly didn't take any initiative on that front. I merely said the prize should fairly go to a posse of other posters.

All very mild.

I just pointed out the hypocrisy, you haven’t been kind about others either. And it’s your theories that have been mocked, which you may have expected to a point, claiming the operation was a hoax to cover up a secret divorce it’s a bit out there tbh. If provocative posts are shared, there will of course be pushback.

And using words like mob and bullies, doesn’t sound very mild.

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 11:22

Oliver I agree that the word bullies should be avoided, which is precisely why I avoided it.

I’m ok with the word mob though. I think it fairly describes a group who are really quite vocal on MN threads in what seems to me to often - not always of course - be a quite aggressive way (Disclaimer: not necessarily aimed at me #notavictim). So I stand by mob.

But now I’m going to ignore you 👍

ToffeeTalk · 07/03/2024 11:24

Well except for the correction that I understood a minor procedure to have taken place and that that was being used to give Kate time and space, as she wanted out. That’s slightly different from ‘hoax’.
