The press has published pics of HRH with her mum in mum Audi on a
"school run." HRH was seated in the front passenger seat.

Wishing HRS Kate a speedy recovery!!

My dad is very grateful for his shit clunky NHS wheelchair (which is fuckall of the sort by the way).

Beats lying in his bed all day given he can’t walk anymore.

That’s great @ArcaneWireless. My stupid FiL will not use any kind of walking aid, despite sometimes being so breathless he can only walk a few steps. This in spite of the fact that’s his DS is full time in a wheelchair 🙄😆

My intellect is just fine cheers. Also, I never sit and MN, I dip in and out as I'm doing other things/ on the go. It's only ever secondary, however much you like to try to do people down by suggesting they are on MN constantly. I think that particular prize on these threads goes to others :) I'm never on for a sustained period of time, except possibly if I'm travelling on public transport as I quite often have to do.

Who would you nominate instead? Don’t be so humble, you’re def very deserving, at least you have the courage of your convictions

I didn't go as far as checking that particular hospital tbh. As it's a private clinic though, they can rent out facilities if required, so I'm not sure if that's necessarily an indicator

Bit convoluted though. Wouldn’t they have chosen a different clinic? I think you are barking up the wrong tree here 🤷‍♀️

Yes, maybe you're right. I don't know what choices you have as a BRF member in terms of healthcare, I wish I had the same options though 😉

It took some doing (reluctant to use anything despite needing it too) but immobility created acceptance.

In his case - and I suspect others too - think it isn’t as much embarrassment about disability (been disabled for years) but having to accept to yourself that your body is no longer what you want it to be or what it once was. Watching someone having to come to that realisation and thrawnly fighting it at every step - literally - is hard.

Watching the deterioration over the years has broken my mind as much as his body.

I understand smilesy 🌻

A granny wheelchair? Charming

ArcaneWireless · 06/03/2024 19:25

And I’m not taking anything away anything my dad is going through. My struggle with it is fuckall as bad as his. Or my mam and her own health struggles.

But it makes me understand why they fight so hard to be private and to try to work through either struggles or worries or both quietly as a family because a heap of clowns on SM will make up their own shite regardless.

Yes I get that too. That is what has happened to my DH (his DS). He’s got gradually less and less able, but has had to use a chair as otherwise he would not be able to leave his bed. What annoys me about FiL is he won’t do anything that will make his life (and that of his family) any easier, whilst his DS has no choice and we struggle every day. It is obviously hard for my FiL to accept that he is getting older and less independent, but he completely forgets that his DS is already in the situation of needing help much against his will.
It is so hard watching someone you love becoming more helpless so I know how you feel 💐

ArcaneWireless · 06/03/2024 19:40

@smilesy

I could have written most of that FIL related bit!

Battling on I understand but …

It just might have been easier (for everyone concerned) to accept it when there was a choice rather than wait until there was none.

For you and your DH 💐 and one of these because it helps most days 😊

Salemforcuddles · 06/03/2024 19:47

Not an easy time for you Smilesy. I work in care and the amount of time we spend trying to persuade people to use equipment they need 😫

Naming names would constitute a personal attack I think as the implication is that a poster who posts incessantly can't have a life.

All I would say is that some posters on these threads - without naming names - certainly give the impression of never being off MN, and using it as a primary occupation rather than a secondary distraction, like me (and I'm sure many others who are equally sane).

Ohhhh so you’re personally attacking multiple posters rather than an individual 😂

I haven’t seen anyone post ‘incessantly’ - but maybe you’re on here far more than me and have noticed what I have missed 😄

Maireas · 06/03/2024 20:00

@ArcaneWireless and @smilesy - it's tough, really tough to watch a loved one in pain, distressed and deteriorating. The best that we can do is support them to live with as much dignity and comfort as possible. 🌻
I just don't understand why people would invade others' privacy like this, or spread such stupid and ridiculous rumours. It's as if some people aren't allowed to be humans.

Well my intellect isn't currently so damaged by exposure to MN that I'm going to fall for your trick :)

Very happy for you to interpret that as you wish. This seems to be the MO on these threads.

ToffeeTalk · 06/03/2024 20:05

OliverTwisted top tip: read any thread or threads on the rf board and you'll see the same old names on repeat. Possible to do in one sitting - it doesn't require 24/7 monitoring. HTH.

I’ll be honest, the few threads I visit, always seems to be different names 🤷‍♀️

She isn’t in a coma. It’s not cancer or mental health issues. She hasn’t had cosmetic surgery . It’s a bit of a shame she hasn’t said what she did need doing and have raised awareness of something a significant number of people suffer from and the surgery that is sometimes necessary But that is entirely up to her and should be respected.

But that doesn’t mean that in the fullness of time, after she has recovered and is back on royal duties that she won’t do exactly that. She may well do, but at the moment she wants her medical issues and recovery time to be private.

This is ridiculous, can’t believe someone is now guessing at a kidney transplant, lol. Even though she clearly wasn’t on dialysis. What’s wrong with folks , it’s ludicrous.
