Well he was heading somewhere as he drove past me just after 10am heading out of Windsor.

The plot thickens. William wouldn’t do this unless something really serious was going on. Not with an hours notice.

Most likely one or more of the kids are sick at home and Kate isn't well enough yet to run after them.

They have a nanny.

Kenthighst · 27/02/2024 12:58

Wishitsnows · 27/02/2024 12:53

@Kenthighst no idea if he looked stressed. Just sitting there. The police motorbikes stop anyone pulling out from side roads for him so he doesn’t have to stop which they don’t bother to do for Andrew 😂 But they made me wait to cross the road.

Thanks @Wishitsnows

If he’s ill, they would have said “illness”. It’s all very odd. I can really see the public becoming very tired of this.

And her parents are around too

Kenthighst · 27/02/2024 12:59

Hopelly Meghan & Harry (or Omid! ) make a statement soon to keep us all up to speed!

It does seem odd, also that pretty much concurrently there was a statement saying that Kate was doing well

Surely it's more likely they've said this because they knew everyone would assume it was because of her health & it's actually not

Maybe it's as simple as he's not well. Hoped he'd manage to the service then as time got closer realised he couldn't

Sometimes the simplest reasons are most likely

No doubt TT & Twitter will have Catherine at deaths door

EchoChamber · 27/02/2024 13:00

There’s no way H and M would be told anything.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 27/02/2024 13:00

Would you want the world to know you had the shits or something? Most people wouldn't! I think its something like that to be honest and they are trying to be polite and also they probably don't want to say yet another member of the family are ill.

MaggieFS · 27/02/2024 13:02

It's weird, and concerning for them. Either Kate back in hospital or something's up with one of the DC and with Kate out of action he's had to cover it?? Obviously nothing which staff could just manage.

Unlikely to do with KC if QC is still going to the service.

Overtheatlantic · 27/02/2024 13:03

Seems fairly obvious that his family don’t want him around, and this was made to look last minute.

Farfarfarfarfaraway · 27/02/2024 13:03

Following this! My theory is it’s something to do with Kate.

Chipandcheese · 27/02/2024 13:03

I know someone who knows someone who is close friends with William and have it on good authority that the reason he dropped out last minute was due to his Asda delivery being due at the same time as the service. He completely forgot and is mortified. Kate can't get up to answer the door so he had to rush home.

Entirely believable and happens more often than you think!

What, Camilla can't bear to sit in a church with him so they make out like he's going to do a reading and then pretend to cancel it last minute?

In that case common sense would dictate that his office doesn't diarise his attendance at a memorial service when members of his family are going to be there.

Are yoyu confusing William and Andrew, by any chance?

Love a spot of sabotage.

Is there a villain twirling their moustache somewhere.

They have Nannies, lots of them.

They have one nanny . She has been with the family since George was born .

J Lo's new doc is dropping on Amazon Prime today. Maybe he and Kate wanted a duvet day.

Andrew was loving William's absence. He had jolly well worked out, within a right royal nanosecond, that he was now the highest-up-the-line-of-succession left attending, and strutted his stuff at the head of the pack like a puffed up bloated walrus on legs.

If she's had to take some time off for some reason there might not be anyone with the children trained in defensive driving and security techniques. Royals and their close staff are and with PoW unwell, that might be why he's had to go back.

FiveFoxes · 27/02/2024 13:15

Weirdly this is on the BBC lunchtime news now. I thought it was just MN reading something into nothing. I could still be nothing but surely BBC wouldn't be making anything of it. Although they have Sean on as royal correspondent and not Nicholas Witchell so maybe that's a clue that nothing is going on.
