Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

The racism could not be denied, especially once it was the unconscious bias, you cannot deny unconscious bias, its why its a lazy cop out accusation with extreme damage. Kate will never lose that accusation especially as she’s a woman and a non royal, something that Meghan can relate to and she suffers from it to.

I think the accusation against Kate when she was actually named didn’t have the desired effect, I don’t think it “would be very damaging to them’ actually came to fruition, yes the initial hoo ha when Scobie delivered what H&M thought would be the final nail in the coffin for Kate, but it didn’t actually work, firstly because most people with half a brain didn’t believe it and secondly it just showed what a vile bullying couple H&M are to have told Scobie and allow it to go to print, particularly when Harry dialled it back to “unconscious bias”. Only the sugars and the pretend republicans will run with it, Meghan in particular must be gutted her trump card has fallen flat, but no doubt when her memoir comes out she will have to ramp it up for full dramatic effect.

Hear hear @BigWillyLittleTodger . A “memoir” is Meghan’s final roll of the dice.

Btw, did anyone else read that the website names Lilibet’s Closet and other children’s clothesy names had been registered by the Sussexes? QVC here we come!!!

I think the issue is most people have those ‘who will your children take after’ chats. Especially families that are diverse. I know it’s a regular topic in mine, fuelled by natural curiosity and excited anticipation. There’s even a video clip of Harry making presumptions about his future offspring. Looking back at the Oprah interview, it was worded carefully, certain statements made in alignment to give a certain impression and certain ‘facts’ twisted. This type of passive aggressive stirring may work behind the scenes, in today’s world when things can be checked and replayed, they ended up playing themselves.

How very feminist of them! Their son gets a philanthropy site named after him, their daughter gets frocks.

The hypocrisy of the pair on the discussion of racial characteristics is plainly evident. Harry, triumphant in The Late Show/Colbert interview that his "ginger" genes prevailed in his children, having been worried they wouldn't (why would it worry him that they would take after Meghans?). The Netflix doc discussion of the children, where Archie gets a cursory "he looks like Meghan" and then Lily gets a waxing lyrical from them both about her "blue, blue, blue" eyes and Spencer colouring. It's plain to see what they value, and it is not the heritage from Doria's side (who also doesn't get a look in in the children's names).

Samcro · Today 17:53Pmslyou have zero idea what is wrong with Kate, yet it’s got to be Meghan fault!!!it would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic, but does show that Meghan will get the blame for anything.

Piss yourself all you like. Meghan and Harry have put enormous stress on Kate and the Royal Family in general. It may not have caused her illness but I'm sure it didn't help any!

Harry claimed that stress caused Meghan's miscarriage. If one believes that*, one should also believe that the stress caused by the friction with H&M has caused Catherine and The King's poor health.

Honestly it seems that they are forcing the connection with diana who was a Saint after she died not many remember that the press were turning on her towards the end and she was a human being like everyone else

Runnerinthenight · 22/02/2024 16:04

Meghan had a miscarriage because she was a woman in her late 30s and the rate of miscarriage is 1 in 4 on average.

Wasn't that another instance of her sinking to the ground in tears?!

The press was indeed turning on her. At least a couple of the national papers printed disparaging front page headlines the day she died. These had to be hastily changed.

Meghan's account was just about word-for-word the same as another woman's account.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/02/2024 16:40

I don’t understand what that means? Which woman?

Devastatedandblindsided · 22/02/2024 16:41

Michelle Obama?

Mylovelygreendress · 22/02/2024 16:45

Stephanie Tong in her book Chasing Light .

mrsmingleton · 22/02/2024 16:58

I didn't know about that. Just googled it.

I googled that. I find it very sinister and dark.

Runnerinthenight · 22/02/2024 18:13

That's just plain weird!

Sageyboots · 22/02/2024 18:34

In meghan’s defence, if she had been reading around the topic a lot after her own miscarriage, she may have read this story which chimed with her own experience. It may explain why her version of a similar event is told in similar words (a bit like when musicians are accused of accidental copying/plagarism)

I hope the reading round will have led her to an understanding of how crass it was for them to have announced her first pregnancy on International Baby Loss Day.

A few hours earlier or later would have made no difference to their itinerary in Australia. But the timing they chose meant the plug was pulled on the BBC Breakfast coverage of baby loss (a topic which is hard to get on to mainstream programmes which are normally upbeat). There were meant to be recurring segments through the programme. The first had been broadcast before the news broke. Then all the rest were pulled.

Because bereavement and miscarriage can't be featured alongside Royal baby news and excitement.

I wonder if they even begin to comprehend the negative impact their choice of timing had on the charities who support women and families in those dreadful times (who had been very much involved in the cancelled coverage)

Runnerinthenight · 22/02/2024 19:57

@AuntieStella I didn't know that! That was a little ironic, given she went on to miscarry herself.

JSMill · 22/02/2024 20:41

BigWillyLittleTodger · 22/02/2024 19:19

Oh! She totally plagiarised that!

FuzzyManul · 22/02/2024 21:02

Was that the speech she lied about Ban Ki Moon rising to his feet and starting a standing ovation?

Just waiting for aggressive big gun lawyers to hunt down any small business trading with 'Lilibet' in the title they exist

Yes thanking her for the sacrifice she made for our country! Her acting really is dreadful.
