Gottseidank · 16/02/2024 22:55

Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Cripes, I hadn’t seen this. Harry has precedence! They weren’t even married at the time.

That’s just so so rude. What is wrong with her?!

JSMill · 21/02/2024 18:11

There are lots of videos of M pushing in front of H. It's not that she mustn't go first, it's the clear pushing ahead that's the problem. It's so rude.

Pmsl
you have zero idea what is wrong with Kate, yet it’s got to be Meghan fault!!!
it would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic, but does show that Meghan will get the blame for anything.

Obviously I don't know for a fact but you would have to be a very strong person to take the amount of shit that has been thrown at Kate by Meghan and not be affected. Meghan is a nasty nasty piece of work and is able to insinuate when Kate is unable to respond.

Piss yourself all you like. Meghan and Harry have put enormous stress on Kate and the Royal Family in general. It may not have caused her illness but I'm sure it didn't help any!

wordler · 21/02/2024 18:23

One thing I've noticed about William and Kate is that they have started in recent years ignoring precedence and having the person who is most connected to the engagement go first. So Kate takes the lead and walks ahead when it's one of her patronages and vice versa.

When there's no clear definition they seem to be more relaxed as well - Kate often drops back to let William go first but he quite often ushers her in first.

The only time they seem to follow protocol very strictly is when it involves high status people like heads of foreign states etc.

I assume when William is King he will always go first no matter the occasion though. Will be interesting to see how their dynamic changes.

I honestly can’t believe that people seriously blame Meghan for Kate being I’ll . It’s too far fetched even on these threads.
so you can keep your hate party

Serenster · 21/02/2024 18:36

Meghan and Harry blamed the Daily Mail for Meghan’s miscarriage.

That makes more sense. Like I said, I don't think H has any more right to go first just because he's the prince nor do I endorse 'ladies first'. It's M's sharp elbows that I find funny, desperate and rude.

wildernesssw · 21/02/2024 18:39

Exactly.

And, the evidence is against stress causing short term effects (miscarriage) but having long term effects (e.g. auto-immune conditions)

wildernesssw · 21/02/2024 18:47

It must be awful to be accused of being racist by implication, but without having any facts that you can challenge - because it is all implied and not stated.

Very cowardly by those making the accusation. Bullying behaviour.

MaturingCheeseball · 21/02/2024 18:50

My aunt was the secretary of a very eminent surgeon. He said, “”Stress is cancer’s best friend.”

It’s that covert passive aggression we keep seeing time and time again. There’s def a pattern.

TitusGroaned · 21/02/2024 18:56

Charles has had a stressful few years. Losing both parents, son suddenly leaving, all the family arguments and dramas behind the scenes leading up to it, racism accusations, his wife being ‘fed to the wolves’ after years of public abuse (even pelted by bread rolls at one point) and finally being cut some slack etc. It’s a lot to cope with.

wildernesssw · 21/02/2024 18:57

Yes, the insinuations. No definite accusation, so nothing you can challenge. It creates an impression.

But I think that is wearing off. Like the queries about the leaking of stories - which stories exactly?

Horrible to be on the receiving end, but the truth does become clear

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 21/02/2024 19:01

Yes, funny how it's completely acceptable to claim that Harry and Meghan's mental health issues and her miscarriage were the result of external stress, but Kate can't possibly have had any negative reaction to 3 years of her, her husband and her children being "truth bombed" by them.

Happens all the time though, including on here

How often have you read "The thread's brought out all the racists" or similar, then scrolled back to find only a couple of posts deleted?
You can ask where all the supposed racism is of course, and folk often do, but the response is ... tumbleweed

Vespanest · 21/02/2024 19:25

The racism could not be denied, especially once it was the unconscious bias, you cannot deny unconscious bias, its why its a lazy cop out accusation with extreme damage. Kate will never lose that accusation especially as she’s a woman and a non royal, something that Meghan can relate to and she suffers from it to.

Not to mention the time someone stuck a stick through an open window and poked her in the side with it when C & C were on the way to an event.

Can you imagine if that had happened to Meghan?

TitusGroaned · 21/02/2024 19:44

I didn’t know about the stick incident. That’s horrible.

When it affects them there’s always an extra layer to it. It’s like a form of oneupmanship. It reminds me of those M&S adverts. This is not just usual press intrusion, it’s extra special M & H press intrusion.

I never thought about it like that but you are absolutely right. I feel really blessed that my two sons were great supports to me when I lost my dm. I can't imagine how I would have coped if they weren't getting along and I had to think about that on top of everything else.

The thread were I saw a huge amount of racist comments on, it was about the new LOTR Amazon prequel. Weirdly enough.

Sorry to hear about your loss 💐

I know what you mean, when I was bereaved it took a huge toll on my health, which I hadn’t expected. And yet that was despite being

lucky enough to have a very loving support network. A couple of family members reverted to type during that time, as the usually do when they sense chaos. And whilst they’re usually easy enough to brush off, they did make everything seem that much worse with their attention seeking dramatics, because there was so much else going on at the time. It’s probably why I end up a little critical of Meghan and Harry. With elderly relatives in hospital, they were the ones crying over really inane stuff. There wasn’t anything of substance - we’d know about it if there had been. I don’t care if Kate didn’t share lip gloss, they should have been supporting their elder relatives, who had already done so much to set them up and support them.

@TitusGroaned please ignore my accidental post. I know exactly the situation you are talking about and I found it really sucks emotional energy when there is precious little to spare. I don't know how I managed.
