Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Is it possible to believe that M told Harry how she planned to kill herself and his child and he still insisted they go out that night? Bollocks.

You’d have thought after his mum Princess Diana’s well publicised struggle with her MH with HER first pregnancy (didn’t she throw herself down the stairs while pregnant?), H would have done everything in his power to get her some help. Very odd that he said he couldn’t.

And also him being forced to walk behand his mum's hearse. You think he'd have been more sympathetic.
(However, she looked gorgeous that night. No post-sob puffiness, and hair and makeup immaculate.)

I am wondering if Harry is putting it out there that he wants to come back to ‘help’ knowing there is no way his family would want that. So his strategy is the hope they’ll offer a free house and a lifetime of security in return for shutting up permanently.

Permanently shutting up?

More chance of another series of Archetypes happening featuring Kate, Anne and Camilla.

Or it could be a way of 'showing' how uncaring the RF is. "Lookit how awful they are! I volunteered to take precious time away from holidays, playing polo and my beloved America but they said no to my generous offer. They don't appreciate me. They've never appreciated me."

Yes that too.

What got lost in the racism controversy, is that Harry picked up the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F Kennedy Foundation, not just for allegedly challenging institutional racism in the RF, but also for challenging their outdated attitude to mental health. Which award he picked up with no irony whatsoever, knowing full well that, not only had the RF supported the Royal Foundation's work on mental health openness, not only was it another member of the RF (his brother) who spotted his struggles and encouraged him to get help; but also that he had, with all that background as a MH advocate, completely let his own wife down in order to save his own embarrassment.

And that award is front and centre on their new website. No distancing themselves from something that was bought awarded with no merit.

That is absolutely extraordinary. No self awareness. At all.

Vespanest · 19/02/2024 19:18

I don’t think the willing to come back is good PR for anyone involved and why I believe it’s either been misinterpreted or an unreliable source

In Canada last week Harry went to meet with local First Nations people to speak to them about land rights and Crown land. This was incredibly crass and inappropriate, as at some level he was seen as representing the RF and waded into a delicate and complex issue. I imagine that has the Palace quite concerned.

Who exactly was he speaking on behalf of? What qualifies him to do this?

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 19/02/2024 19:51

As I have said elsewhere, Harry is a useful idiot. He can be used for these political ends (see also Jamaica republican PM) to have a jab at the RF and speed up whatever result they are seeking or cause embarrassment. Harry gets to play at being statesman, without actually having to take any of the consequences if there's a diplomatic/political incident as a result. Whist at the same time, also taking a jab at his family, and supporting his twin aims of both undermining the Commonwealth (Empire 2.0), and showing off his soft political credentials should the RF decide to give him an actual diplomacy role (hopefully never going to happen, but he can hope). His actions in Canada have actually undermined the King's appointed representative in Canada, The Governor General, Mary Simon, who is the first indigenous woman to hold that role. Talk about using your white, quasi royal privilege to pursue your narcissistic agenda.

TitusGroaned · 19/02/2024 19:58

Gobsmacked. Thank you for sharing about how he overshadowed Mary Simon.

Or as Meghan would say, he took her voice.

Maireas · 19/02/2024 20:00

"he took her voice"
He did indeed.

wildernesssw · 19/02/2024 20:02

Mary Simon - Wikipedia

wow - an amazing and inspiring woman

wildernesssw · 19/02/2024 20:05

And Harry and Meghan thought they were more ? relevant? significant? able to respond to indigenous voices?

Maireas · 19/02/2024 20:06

I hadn't heard of her before, so thank you.
A woman of First Nation heritage, got the role not through privilege, titles, connections or marriage. Harry and Meghan should be listening to her.

wildernesssw · 19/02/2024 20:07

Completely agree @Maireas

I am glad these threads - though 99% frivolous entertainment, have highlighted her achievements and role

This seriously pissed me off, William must have been enraged, I don’t know how he, Kate and Charles and Camilla did not step in and correct this, I know ‘never complain never explain’ but I really don’t know how they can not respond, it must be awful for lies to be rewarded on a global public stage, their own mental health must be shot to pieces, I really don’t know how they keep silent.

But are they concerned enough to do anything? surely at some point the government needs to step in and tell Harry to stop interfering in matters of state which don’t concern him?

I agree. However any protests from them would only stoke the fires and lead to more mud slinging from Harry. I am actually totally staggered by the lack of self awareness. I do actually wonder if the illnesses that Charles and Kate have may have been exacerbated or even caused by stress.

I understand that but how much more are they supposed to take?

Devastatedandblindsided · 19/02/2024 20:25

Their titles need to be removed for a start.

Harry and meghan have started the process of becoming the american outpost of the royal family and are working their way back to representing the RF with their ridiculous website, crest and grandiose ideas.

This after failing miserably in Hollywood and realising they are not Hollywood royalty so they can only cosplay the BRF. All that boils down to is a carefully constructed attempt to have their half in and half out deal.

A pr construction that will fail as miserably as all of it because they are talentless grifters whose only relevance is their proximity to the RF. no one in the Rf or the UK will give them the time of day.

They are so clueless they think 4 years of trashing both families was a good move. Hopefully the pair will just fuck off on their lifelong privacy tour and leave the RF and the British people in peace.

Fingers crossed!

And the extent to which Harry is another Duke of Windsor, although not so savvy. (Duke of Windsor knew what he was doing, Harry just seems to accept gigs that pay.)

I think that, at some point, the Foreign Office is going to be suggesting that H&M be put on the payroll, so that they can be controlled. With a watertight NDA, I hope

I saw that mentioned on another site, and someone posted an archived link to a news report from the Telegraph:

I dislike the immaturity displayed by both of them. But Harry, in this case, has taken play-acting a royal to another level. This is potentially a diplomatic row in the making.
