Gottseidank · 16/02/2024 22:55

Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Let's talk about the common wealth then if you want talk about barbarity.

You’ve said that once already 😆

Judging by some posters on this thread schools need to start teaching debating skills again. And grammar.

I get the feeling that everyone's arguing with an AI bot, except a bot would probably make sense. Or more sense, anyway.

Very possible but it’s quite fun trying to pin them down 🤪

Let's spin it again if the contents of the book and the interview was not true wouldn't the royal family have reason to sue them for defamation?

Yes they would. But first, they go by the mantra, "never explain, never complain" and second, they probably have more sense and compassion than do sue and potentially humiliate a drug addled and clearly disturbed family member, and air the dirty laundry even more in public.

It is, (to coin a favourite phrase of mine to describe utter futility), like trying to nail jelly to the wall.

I think you need to brush up on your history, do you mean the Empire? As far as I know The British Government didn’t set up the commonwealth and endorse or instruct barbarity. Your posts are beyond bonkers now!

Probably best not to encourage it...!!

I'll add a third: suing for defamation in the US (where I assume the publishing originates) is all but impossible because of the First Amendment - that'll be the First Amendment that Harry thinks is "bonkers" (his word) and which he is happily attacking through his work with the Aspen Foundation.

The Commonwealth is completely voluntary. No country is forced to enter it or is forced to remain within it.

At least two countries - Gabon and Togo - have joined the commonwealth despite having no historic links with GB.

Maybe we can help you write a better one - you should do an expose on Harry and spill all the tea

elfies · 18/02/2024 18:38

I would advise them not to be so daft . Will anybody in the Royal household ever utter a word without wondering if it will be repeated out of context . I couldn't trust Harry , and as for Megan .......words fail me !

If William welcomes them back .......then he's as addle headed as Harry

It was called the British common wealth of nations and now the common wealth of nations which consist of the nations who were part of the British empire.

The Commonwealth dates back to the first half of the 20th century with the decolonisation of the British Empire through increased self-governance of its territories. It was originally created as the British Commonwealth of Nations[8] through the Balfour Declaration at the 1926 Imperial Conference, and formalised by the United Kingdom through the Statute of Westminster in 1931. The current Commonwealth of Nations was formally constituted by the London Declaration in 1949, which modernised the community and established the member states as "free and equal".[9]
