Harry “is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.
The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.”

Where is william ? Why isint he stepping up more / full time?
3 kids - sorry Nannys- help for Kate obvs too. home at6pm like every other working Dad to help in the pms or off during day if an pm event. Why is he so work shy? Im not buying he is singlehandedly looking after K and the kids. He really is so spoiled and entitled. This is a pure smoke screen to take the attention off Wills

It was said on this forum that they don't have help. They don't have nannies or staff apparently, according to their fans here.

I am a royalist, but the return of Harry to royal duties would turn me into a republican. I find the idea of him undertaking royal duties utterly repugnant. He has made his disdain for Britain extremely clear. He has embarrassed us abroad, criticised his family, undermined the monarchy and made lots of money from it.

I am with you but Harry will not return to help out, Meghan would never allow that. He is only allowed out with her for short periods of time.

( quick question, is Wales’ rights? Cos I know it can’t have the extra s)

They have some staff but not as much as traditional royal family members William was keen to follow his mother's footsteps and be more hands on as a parent and I don't think that should be criticised I think it should be encouraged

He's attended the BAFTAs for the last decade at least. Because he's President of BAFTA and has been since 2010.

He's going in that role, not because it's a celebrity event. He's promoting British Film & TV worldwide. It's his job as President.

So what's your point?

This oh he has always done it that's why he is going...Harry has spearheaded invictus but no he should step aside or he shouldn't go anymore

It's the hypocrisy

It's a lot of bollox as far as I am concerned. I have been on the estate, there are lots of staff cottages on site.

As Adelaide Cottage is in the grounds of Windsor Castle there is sure to be many staff cottages.

If we are to have senior royals represent the government and country at home and abroad whilst flogging their ‘brand’ to the highest bidder for sponsorship deals then I will be at the front of the queue signing the petition for a republic.

And yet Charles and William have been at it for years, with the former oiling his way around gulf royalty and both flogging seats next to themselves at dinners, etc.

Of course they claim it's "charity" they're sponsoring, but given the smoke and mirrors around royal finances that's not something I'd want to take on trust

Not heard about William personally selling seats at events he attends, can you provide a source please? does he pocket the cash? or is it people buy seats from the charity he represents who want to sit next to royalty, if it’s the latter that’s fine by me and something I would expect. What does oiling himself around gulf royalty mean?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/02/2024 22:05

BigWillyLittleTodger the reference was to both Charles and William selling seats at events they host rather than just attend ... I'm pretty sure it was Norman Baker's account again, but will check and get back to you

And the "oiling" referred to Charles running to and fro from the gulf - trips which vastly outnumbered those to the Commonwealth they're supposed to head - and doubtless the flogging of the knightood to the Saudi Mahfooz will have helped fill the coffers

But of course it was all for "charity", all Fawcett's fault, and yet again Charles claimed he "knew nothing about it"

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/02/2024 22:16

Thanks will be interested to read about all that, I am very surprised the selling of seats goes in their personal back pockets and not to the charity they are attending so I’m particularly interested in the confirmation of that as that is shocking if true.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/02/2024 22:23

To be honest I can quite believe that, I think Charles is a bit of a dope really, well meaning but not that bright, I don’t think he would make it as a master criminal and is easily led and gullible (Peter Ball)

Don't delude yourself into thinking Harry opposes hereditary titles and their privileges - he has retained and made it clear that he's intent on retaining his title and ensuring the next generation inherits theirs.
He comes across as simply a spoilt, self-involved and self-pitying individual who wanted greater control and status within that heirarchy, rather than advocating for the common person or seeking to abolish it. He then lashed out for literally years when he didn't get his own way.

Exactly so!

Um The Times is a favourite of Buck and and Kensington. Constant leaking.

Royah Nikkah is a favourite of William's in particular.

Proof of this?

Sleepysleepasap · 17/02/2024 23:36

I commented earlier that am not a fan of either of the brothers. Both have PR people who have messed up
Harry .has fucked up with his move to America and the interview/ book
William with his disappearance recently. Yes wife and father ill but they have support and people looking after the menial duties ie housekeeping, looking after the children ie nanny. Think William should have stepped up and been to be doing his job and improving his image .

Lol! Guess who else is going to the Baftas? People who are going thete for a night out, alongside doing an actual job in the film industry. Going to a glitzy dinner is not ' work'!
Anyway I can't believe I've got caught up in this Royal nonsense. I'm off to slap myself on the wrist!

The Waleses have a nanny and definitely a housekeeper cook because I saw a job advert.

The royal household page makes clear which department is hiring, including the specific royals that are looking, when jobs are going.

(They were duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the time but everything has been updated to P&PoW)

We pay the royal family to have private lifes. The more I read and listen the more I think we are selling ourselves short and we are mugs for letting it continue. What effing privacy the amount of money they get from the public and now they want privacy.

Edited

I don't agree with having Royals in any part of the world at this time and age.

However, if you look at it differently, they are a family like any other with conflicts, resentment, love, etc... and unfortunately Harry has betrayed his family's trust. I have had many disagreements, arguments with my brother, sister and mother and would never go and tell others their secrets or speak about them to others that are not close family members. Charles may be able to forgive him because he's sick and is his son but it's something very hard to ask if William, how could they ever trust that he won't be selling their new conversations to the press?

I bet your family won't throw you under the bus and give stories to the press which are untrue in order to hide their own drama. Why do you think Harry should keep quiet when they are doing that to him? I would never be quiet and wouldn't take it.
