I just read an article in the DM about this. I really honestly couldn't believe he would do this. I just hope it isn't true. Just how could he. Privacy????.

Would be funny if KC has done a Coleen Rooney and fed PH dud info to see if it ‘leaks out’..lol

Omg yes "Heir-cule Poirot"

So it's official then, the Markle clan boosting their own profiles talking about their daughter/sister is fine and dandy, and of course they can?

I know! A raging hypocrite with zero self awareness and just in case we forget he likes to chuck us a weekly reminder Grin

mrsmingleton · 16/02/2024 12:30

To actually start with this "Ummmm look, I love my family " is very telling in itself. He may as well have said "Ummm yes I am known as hating my family as my behaviour has shown".

ruffler45 · 16/02/2024 12:34

What about Harry's illness now Megan has sucked the life blood out of him.

TheCraicDealer · 16/02/2024 12:39

I think it’s quite natural that he should be asked about his father’s health and for him to essentially repeat the previous palace statement re. doing well, keeping positive etc would have been completely fine. It’s a huge news story and it would be strange if it wasn’t broached at all.

However, you can’t tell me that PH or his reps wouldn’t have been able to say to GMA, “Don’t ask questions about his father’s health/their relationship beyond, ‘How is he’”, otherwise the interview will be terminated”. It wasn’t a live interview so it’s not as if the query about Charles’ illness leading to a rapprochement was an off the cuff question that he couldn’t avoid answering. PH and MM would have you believe this interview was a huge scoop for GMA, they wouldn’t have had to answer anything they didn’t want to and could have agreed questions and secured an undertaking before it took place.

I don't think you can blame Meghan for Harry's decisions. He's a grown man, he chose his path, he chose to shit talk about his family to the media and in his book, and he'd chosen not to set the record straight on the racism charges, first, during for the two years after Oprah where he accepted an award for what was said, second after backtracking and claiming nobody called anyone racist, third after the more recent attack by Omid Scobie on Catherine and Charles. The man is a complete POS, always has been. He managed to rehabilitate himself into "cheeky chappy war hero", through the efforts of palace spin and the "fab 3" relationship he had with his brother and SIL. But that was all smoke and mirrors. I will not forget the P* remarks that he made about a fellow soldier - on his own recording that he shared - and has never shown the slightest bit of genuine remorse for.

fedupwithbeinghot · 16/02/2024 12:41

Of course he will not say anything that has not already been reported. The DM is just creating noise, as usual. This is what he said in the US and he'll say something similar here

"Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis - the strength of the family unit coming together," he told ABC's Good Morning America.

YouJustDoYou · 16/02/2024 12:42

He really is the biggest POS

FarEastofRussia · 16/02/2024 12:45

I would agree Invictus needs to distance themselves from Harry and Meghan now. The optics of this entire 'tour' have been awful:

Arriving via private jet. Even if this wasn't paid for by the charity - if this was gifted by a third party, the cost and extravagance of it looks awful. What else could the cost of that flight have paid for?

The outfit changes - totally expect different outfits each day, but different coats and boots?? Who takes more than one 'ski' type jacket for a couple of days in the snow when they live in California. Who takes more than one pair of snow boots? It is attention seeking. Especially when everyone around you is wearing Invictus branded clothing.

Making provocative statements complaining about the media (portrayal of yourself). You know this will hit the headlines.

Doing an interview and talking about the Royals when he knows that this will be the focus of all of the soundbites in the press.

It is ALL about them - nothing about the games or the participants.

Some may say all publicity is good publicity. If I was a contender in these games I would feel exploited at this point as they are using these games as a vehicle to promote themselves and not the other way around.

This. This is the kind of man he has always been. Vicious and cruel and lacking in common decency. We see him now for the vile petulant arrogant spoiled little brat that he is.

Frasers · 16/02/2024 12:51

All this noise over this interview due to how good morning America have billed it. It’s a fluff piece, he says nothing of note. But of touchy feely nonsense. It’s not Oprah or Netflix, it’s a fluff piece that’s meaningless,

Spyral · 16/02/2024 12:52

I can't believe people can get so worked up about this shit - stuff that doesn't affect them personally at all.

themessygarden · 16/02/2024 12:53

My son is working in Vancouver and he hasn’t seen or heard any publicity about the Games !

I have a friend in Calgary and she knew nothing about it at all.

I think it's only the UK media who are reporting back to back and Good Morning America, most likely thanks to their connection to Oprahs bestie Gayle.

The rest of the reporting and discussion seems to be coming from social media.

diddl · 16/02/2024 12:53

On your device, search the term "rage bait". It will help you in future.

Today British Gas announced a profits jump from around £70 million in 2021 to over £750 this year. The Daily Mail, the site Harry is in ongoing litigation with, thinks the most pressing thing to discuss today is whether Harry might talk publicly about his father's illness.

On a daily basis the Daily Fail lies for engagement. They are probably responsible for most of the high blood pressure medication prescriptions throughout the Home Counties.

I can't believe people can get so worked up about this shit - stuff that doesn't affect them personally at all.

High profile race baiters who cry wolf and trivialise racism, push critical race theories on society, and brand an entire governing institution and a nation's media as racist affects all people, and particularly all people of colour.

Their high profile, gained pushing lies about their families, have got them a foothold into US politics, big tech and think tanks who want to enforce censorship on social media. That affects everyone.

LipstickLil · 16/02/2024 12:59

Every time the RF keep Harry at arm's length and carefully control how much access he has to them, they are justified. Harry's been back home a week, after meeting with the King for no more than 30 mins, and already he has an interview lined up with Good Morning America to discuss it. And today he was bleating on about he loves his family and how he thinks the King's illness will bring the family together. Dream on idiot! His verbal incontinence and inability to keep anything private will ensure that he is never welcomed by his family ever again.

Serenster · 16/02/2024 13:05

Harry and Meghan have totally followed their normal playbook for this trip to promote Invictus. It’s almost tick box.

  • Release a story just beforehand that will put them firmly in the news cycles before the trip starts and gets lots of coverage (i.e. new website launched)
  • Ensure there are paparazzi photos, normally Backgrid, of them flying out of LA
  • Lots of photo opportunities, with lots of outfit changes for Meghan, all fully briefed to the press*
  • While they are firmly in the limelight, follow up with an exclusive interview or similar.
Ostensibly they are there to promote Invictus, but it’s also clear they are looking to promote themselves as well. Invictus is just one of the few remaining bankable positive publicity events in their diaries, I guess?

*On that point, last year when their communications chief Ashley Hansen abruptly left, we were told that despite their earlier denials that they would work with some publications, they had shifted towards a more collaborative approach. During the Sussexes’ attendance at the 2023 Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, tabloid journalists were included on a media WhatsApp group with their communications team. They were regularly briefed on the couple’s activities, Meghan’s outfits and the detail that she did her own hair and make-up while in Germany. So yes, promoting themselves.

my interest doesn’t come from a royal family but from a psychological dysfunctional family viewpoint, my mind is always blown that Harry has had so much therapy his emotional intelligence remains so low. It’s a year since spare, he made the choice to go public and is quite venomous to those he loves, that was his choice but he doesn’t get to choose those he hurt reaction or timeline and he also shouldn’t be using emotional blackmail. It may have been therapeutic for him but that is a book you write to cut ties, not to enhance them.

Just seen the interview/chat on the other IG thread. He really is insufferable. No suggestion that he's caused the huge gulf between him and his family. No apology for his shit behaviour just loads of big headed arrogant guff.

He needs to take the lead from the vets and stop being quite so 'I am'.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 16/02/2024 13:15

@SheriffofRottingham Well said. Sick of the implication that the clearly intelligent posts on these threads are from brains incapable of having more than one thought, more than one interest or seeking news from more than one outlet.
