I just read an article in the DM about this. I really honestly couldn't believe he would do this. I just hope it isn't true. Just how could he. Privacy????.

I don't think it's acceptable for any family members to embarrass and was their dirty laundry in public , no .

Exactly !

Serenster · 03/03/2024 12:03

Moving to attack the posters rather than answer the uncomfortable questions I see…

jeffgoldblum · 03/03/2024 12:03

@Clawedfoot73 , do you make it a habit of thinking posts that don't tag you or not directed at you are for you?
I was addressing @Mylovelygreendress ! 🙄

This.

It’s the double standard that’s being called my dear Claw, I wouldn’t really call Meghan a seriously nasty woman btw, I was making a point based off your post.

And I was responding to a very nasty post that said Meghan’s grief, when her father died, would be performative.

Cackling at the hypocrisy of that statement! 😂

jeffgoldblum · 03/03/2024 12:06

No worries @Serenster , I'm used to it!

Mylovelygreendress · 03/03/2024 12:07

@Clawedfoot73 my apologies , I didn’t realise I should sit and wait for you to respond to my comment !
in the event , @jeffgoldblum answered perfectly and would have been my response if I hadn’t taken time to make a cup of tea.
Should I now await your response or can I hang out some washing ??

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 03/03/2024 12:07

Highly amusing that royalists on here are making the point about this being an “an open discussion” forum while all crowding in to defend one another!

How does crowding in to defend each other stop this being an open discussion forum? IIRC an open forum is where anyone who hasn't been banned can post. And with it being the Royal Family forum there's going to be supporters of the RF here taking issue with your comments. Are we only allowed on here one at a time, or something?

And meanwhile, I’ll continue to just engage with the content of your posts, as I have done to date….

What's disingenuous about my post?

Thank you. I agree to do the same as I have genuinely been trying to do all thread.

As I said before, I was responding to a very nasty post that said Meghan’s grief would be performative when her father died.

I was therefore giving legitimate reasons why Meghan might have found it necessary to separate herself from her father, and go, as it is termed on Mumsnet, no contact.

I was saying that I imagine in those situations, should a parent die, the bereaved person would experience a mixture of emotions.

@Clawedfoot73 None of the Markle family come out of this looking good, it’s so unedifying. They are all about grabbing as much money as they can, from wherever they can and as quickly as they can and will run over each other in the process. Classy.

‘Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ absolutely fits the Markle family to a tee. IMO.

I think you are right.

However, there is little evidence to doubt that, pre- Harry, the father did everything he could for his daughter, and she was a self proclaimed daddy's girl on all her social media. Clearly all that has gone to shit since she met Harry. Appalling behaviour on both sides. And Harry needs to take a great chunk of the blame. It was his duty to his wife to prepare her father for what would be to come in the media, not just leave the bloke flailing around at the mercy of Backgrid, who took those stupid pre wedding pictures of him.

And also, that "Dear Daddy" letter was written to be leaked.

AliceOlive · 03/03/2024 12:35

It is these little tells with Meghan.

Clawedfoot73 · 03/03/2024 12:44

OK, respecting the counter arguments, do you all think it’s ok to say that someone’s grief will be performative?

Who are you asking this time?

OK, respecting the counter arguments, do you all think it’s ok to say that someone’s grief will be performative?

Who are the people who get to decide whether it's OK or not? and what do they do about it if they decide it's not OK?

It's an opinion that's all based on your previous opinion of that person. I was watching a vid of HM's funeral the other evening and it showed MM crying. Was her grief performative? no idea. Do I think she's capable of performative grief? sure, who isn't capable of feigning emotions they don't really feel to suit the occasion; or that they get caught up in the moment and that they do feel, fleetingly, that emotion for real?

If I give it any thought at all I think if and when her DF dies MM is going to be hit by a lot of conflicting emotions.

Absolutely.
He was her ‘golden child’ and she was a daddy’s girl. So much went to shit as soon as when they got together.

I’d like to know what was in the redacted text message that Harry sent to TM.

StormzyinaTCup · 03/03/2024 13:12

Kindly, I think it might help to have a word with yourself about everything you’ve just said. We often try to teach what we most need to learn.
