I just read an article in the DM about this. I really honestly couldn't believe he would do this. I just hope it isn't true. Just how could he. Privacy????.

Actually, thinking about it, PH is in a bit of a cleft stick here. He needs to provide just enough insider info to keep the media happy and the publicity rolling, but divulge any details of KC's illness or what they talked about (assuming anyone has been stupid enough to tell him what it is) and tht's just another nail in the Sussex coffin, at least as far as PW is concerned. If I were the RF I'd be sitting back and thinking, let's see you get yourself out of this one.

crumblingschools · 16/02/2024 10:37

@themessygarden is that the one where said something like he had to ensure the right people were looking after her interests

Overtheatlantic · 16/02/2024 10:38

I’m surprised by the sheer number of MN users that read, and believe, the DM. And most probably identify as liberal.

How is your dear dad harry? I don't know, nobody will tell me anything, waaaagggghhh!

It's exactly what he did before the Germany invictus, made a quick dash visit to the Queen and then gave an interview about making sure she was okay. He is nothing if not predictable.

How do some Americans lap it all up. Its bizarre that they don't call him out for leeching off the status and popularity of the rf whilst in the next breath having pity parties about how few sausages he got.

You just want someone, a decent interviewer to say come on Harry wtaf??? <or words to that effect>

Snippit · 16/02/2024 10:39

Let’s hope he’s learned from his mistakes and doesn’t blurb. I hope to god he hasn’t a clue about the reason for Kates abdominal surgery, he’ll be singing like a bloody canary.

3peassuit · 16/02/2024 10:40

I’m more interested in what he has to say about African Parks. I hope he’s pressed on this.

On the BBC website now…. Could be a bit of spin on what he actually said I suppose. But if he is actually doing an interview about his fathers poor health it’s just unbelievably bad. It looks like the first piece of new information he’s got he runs straight to the press with it.

If he does say anything other than being very noncommittal then in my eyes his behaviour even more despicable than to date.

Prince Harry interview: Duke of Sussex set to speak about King's health

The prince's appearance on Good Morning America is expected to touch on his father's cancer diagnosis.

ButterCrackers · 16/02/2024 10:42

Will he be paid for this interview? If so how much goes to the games or to any charitable cause? Will he make money from talking about KC’s medical situation?

Good Morning America Blurb

Harry will appear on Good Morning America with host Will Reeve.

The description promises an “all-new interview with Prince Harry on his life with Meghan, how his father King Charles is doing and his passion supporting wounded warriors.”

Looks like that's where DM got their headline.

MorningSunshineSparkles · 16/02/2024 10:44

I thought H&M despised family that went to the press about them (ah la Thomas Markle)? Though given the hypocrisy of them the last few years with books and documentaries, I don’t know why this surprises me.

If he does it’s very sad

If he doesn’t still making hay out of his relationship

Depressing

I wonder how much money he gets for this?

Oh that reads like he was giving an interview about the Invictus games, and was asked a question about his dad’s health, not a whole interview arranged about his dad!

so back to “William breaks his silence”AKA “grateful for well wishes”

Vespanest · 16/02/2024 10:47

the interview will have already taken place, Will reeves has been shadowing them throughout Invictus.

femfemlicious · 16/02/2024 10:17

His real name is harold😂. How do you name a baby harold🤣

His name is Henry. As stated by him in "Spare", growing up, the brothers had nicknames for each other - Willy and Harold.

or the other end? 😂

Janiie · 16/02/2024 10:54

Imagine if Markle Senior did this. Years estranged, finally allowed a 30min audience wirh his dd and H but then days later 'Thomas discusses the health of his dd!!' shouted all over the news. The Sussexes would be apoplectic. They just do not see their massive failings.

Some people genuinely don't understand that you can use your critical judgement about what you read!

FarEastofRussia · 16/02/2024 10:56

I saw the trailer for it on American tv - it does indicate he will talk about how the King is doing.

He doesn't seem to learn. It was at another Invictus event that he made those comments about the Queen - about making sure she had the right people around her. It totally overshadows the event. The press focuses on his comments about the Royals and not on the reason he is there - to promote the Invictus Games.

themessygarden · 16/02/2024 10:57

crumblingschools · 16/02/2024 10:37

@themessygarden is that the one where said something like he had to ensure the right people were looking after her interests

Yes, two days after visiting her he had a sit down interview with an American host, supposed to be about Invictus, but went along the lines of 'so you have just been to see your Grandma" and he was (I'm paraphrasing) Oh, granny thinks I am very funny, I make her laugh, I wanted to make sure she has the right people around her, blah, blah, blah ......... The interview was supposed to be about Invictus, but I doubt anyone remembers any of that, just him talking about granny, don't think he used her title.

This one will probably go a similar way, 'the minute I heard Pa was ill, I hopped on a plane to see my dear Pa, despite other commitments, I made sure to see him in person blah, blah.

Someone on another thread has said they have now pulled that segment from the interview, either for fear of further backlash or because of protests from the King.

Vespanest · 16/02/2024 10:58

this is the situation Harry is now in, in some ways at least being fully estranged from Thomas it saves them from this awkwardness. Harry may love Charles but he doesn’t respect or maybe even like him. He’s left in a can’t win scenario of accusations of not giving a shit versus faux sympathy.

He’s not going to grant an interview to that sort of robust journalist though, that’s the problem they just let him talk without any push back.

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 16/02/2024 08:53

Now we know why he was so keen to come over and see his father: get some headlines and material for his interview; hope KC didn’t say much
I’m thinking that Harry’s cheeky chappie, man of the people persona was a master stroke by very clever Royal PR people, to hide a vacuous, unpleasant person

I bet they wish they hadn’t bothered and had let his true character be exposed long ago.

mrsmingleton · 16/02/2024 11:03

"well yah I flew over to see Papa ( I'm a living legend of aviation so it's easy for me" and yah I saw him at Bucks Palace and yah I was able to cheer him up a bit. Yah I feel it is so important to support others and yah I am a Prince did I say that?"
