I just read an article in the DM about this. I really honestly couldn't believe he would do this. I just hope it isn't true. Just how could he. Privacy????.

Oh and i dont care for the royals i think they are all crap and ive never made out I'm a feminist or proponent of feminish either

If I "didn't care" about the royals, personally I would avoid this entire board.

Maireas · 26/02/2024 15:03

SheriffofRottingham · 26/02/2024 14:47

Sounds like it’s you that’s getting into a tizz about the imagined hysterics 😂

’Oh and i dont care for the royals i think they are all crap’ yeah sure, unless it’s Harry and Meghan 😂

Who are very royal indeed.

mrsmingleton · 26/02/2024 15:04

Feminish?

Mylovelygreendress · 26/02/2024 15:05

@Spectre8 no offence but I don’t think you understand the meaning of the word hysterical .

jeffgoldblum · 26/02/2024 15:24

Be fair @Mylovelygreendress , she did spell it right!

willWillSmithsmith · 26/02/2024 15:29

Let’s be honest. Harry’s a bit of a knob and in real life not many women would find his personality appealing, imho of course before anyone insists he’s fab, sexy and gorgeous 😁

mrsmingleton · 26/02/2024 15:33

and there I was going to say "gorgeous gorgeous boy"🤐

AutumnCrow · 26/02/2024 16:00

mrsmingleton · 26/02/2024 15:04

Feminish?

It's like Amish, but with Barbie cars

Roussette · 26/02/2024 16:03

I find it unpleasant when a group of posters join in to take the piss out of a poster, all banding together to have a go at @Spectre8
Anyone can spell something wrong and miss the editing window

I would imagine it's against TG

AutumnCrow · 26/02/2024 16:16

mrsmingleton · 25/02/2024 00:40

@themessygarden that photo - my golly gosh they really love themselves, don't they? Oh look at me little Meghan with no voice looking up to my big Prince 😂

Edited

I do find the semiotics of that photograph interesting, and what it seems to be 'saying' about their identities (as per many, many photographs from all types of people chosen for public dissemination - it's a whole academic discourse).

I agree with you Roussette it’s so childish and fwiw I think what Spectre said was entirely reasonable.

There’s been lots of noise in the tabloids and on sm criticising Harry for potentially “betraying” details about his father’s illness when he did no such thing! That is the hysteria Spectre is referring to. A load of noise about absolutely naff all!

Indeed.

There always seems to be an agenda with those 2. Nothing ever seems natural or authentic with their posing.

Roussette · 26/02/2024 16:23

Absolutely @Clawedfoot73
He handled the interview really well and cut off Reeves with any probing about his father
Hysterical reporting at its finest. He didn't discuss his father's health at all ! I bet some MNers were annoyed about that as it would've filled a couple of threads lol

But you don’t find it unpleasant when a poster jumps onto a thread to imply all the posters they don’t agree with are hysterical women getting into a tizz? Sexist as well as reductive

Roussette · 26/02/2024 16:25

According to you Sheriff.

I find pile ons unpleasant but there you go

Janiie · 26/02/2024 16:26

Well blame the hysterical voice over person from abc/gma/netkflix/whoever it was this time who boomed 'Harryyyy talks about King Charles and his cancer diagnosis!!!'.

Perhaps Harold could have suggested they tone that teaser down a bit, no? I mean it's almost as if he loves the attention..

Serenster · 26/02/2024 16:28

I also found the wording intriguing: “Thank you Canada”.

Harry was visiting Whistler, British Columbia,as patron of Invictus to celebrate one year to go to the Invictus Games in 2025, to be held in Whistler.

It would be more usual to thank the host city in the circumstances, surely? I also thought the words “on behalf of Invictus” were also an obvious omission. Thanking all of Canada on behalf of Meghan and Harry personally, with a photo centring the patron’s wife, doesn’t really look like they are shining attention on the upcoming games and their host city so much as themselves.

I find personal insinuations and scoffing at different opinions unpleasant but there you go.

I’m sure posters wouldn’t like it if it was done back to them, if they were mocked for hysterically fawning over another woman’s appearance, for instance. Because objectifying and reducing an adult woman to her appearance and ability to wear clothes is so much superior to the topic of this thread 😆

Yes, that photograph and the accompanying words are intriguing on a number of levels, regarding their purpose, form and messaging.

The same is true of the teaser trailer, which as @Janiie says had the booming voice-over, and it also included an image of the King leaving hospital. Lots of fairly gauche attempts at manipulation on show.

Roussette · 26/02/2024 16:35

Yes you've made your point Sheriff

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/02/2024 16:36

I think the ABC Whistler interview should be seen in conjunction with the HULU distributed "documentary". Ostensibly about Invictus, but barely focussing on the competition or any of the competitors (just the one guy from Nigeria IIRC); instead, rehashing and focussing on Harry's perceived rivalry with his brother, using his brother's children as props to prove his point about the family alienation he brought about by himself but feels the victim of; and making Invictus almost entirely about himself and his feelings, when the subject did eventually get a proper mention. Nothing hysterical, but certainly a lot that is distasteful for someone who declared last year that he wasn't interested in talking about the RF anymore. Seems like he's got nothing much else to talk about that will make him some cash.

I know you’re a big fan of Harry and Meghan so you might have some insight into this, but why do you think Harry said it was classified and top secret when asked how he liked being a dad (or whatever the question was). It seemed like a very odd reply even if it was meant to be ‘humorous’ (which doesn’t make much sense either).

Roussette · 26/02/2024 16:43

Hello Will smith, as far as him saying that (I watched the interview but didn't home in on that admittedly). I imagine he didn't want to feed the Murdoch press with anything

I thought he handled it well.

Not asking me but I'll give my opinion!

He is making it clear that while he has made a career out of gossiping about his UK Royal Family, his LA family is strictly out of bounds. Which is fine, just a shame his loyalty and respecting privacy is all so very selective.
